Welcome to L27, I am your GM for this chaotic world of the dark ages; my name is Chet S. My Lords GM address is: lords27gm[at]throneworld[dot]com for orders and L27 stuff, and my L27 paypal address is: lords27gm[at]throneworld[dot]com
***TURN FEE: Starting in T49 is $7.00 donation, and there is also a $7.00 donation for a startup fee for new players. Also I do not accept any personal checks as my bank charges me a $20 fee for any bounced checks that I deposit...(Cash, money orders & certified checks are ok.)
TURN BALANCE: Any nation that reaches a NEGATIVE BALANCE without making an arrangement with me will not be processed, and not sending orders in for three turns in a row (with or without payments and without a good reason), will force me open your country to a new player who has the time and money...
SWITCHING NATIONS: I have policy of no switching nations if your balance is in the red, until that negative balance is paid and you must also pay for one turn ahead so you're in the black.
***NEW ORDER FORM for T50 (with no Sorcery QR): Please use new orders form it has a Multi-Colored Section in the middle of it, otherwise you are using the wrong sheet and need to download a new one from the file section of this site or at the L27 home site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lords-27/files/L27_Excel_orders_template.xls If you do not have Microsoft Excel, there is a free version of Office called OpenOffice that will open, edit and save Excel file at: http://www.openoffice.org/
E-MAIL ADDRESS & TURN NUMBER: Make sure your e-mail address is right in your orders, that is the address the program will send your stat sheet to... and that it has the right turn number too!
Send me your orders in this ORDER NAME FORMAT:="L27_T49_NationName.xls"
PROJECTS: Do not put new or old projects in the builds section of the Order form; they only go in the new or existing projects section (with ID number), and do not delete any part of the order form that you are not using, just leave the unused sections blank and do not add any page-breaks either, or write outsides the borders (your personal notes doubles the pages).
TROOP BUILDS: If your leader is in the region already or will be in that region to pick up your newly built troops, don't build troops for the garrison and then have him pick them up, just build troops for him (NOTE: he still has to go and pick them up).
***MERCENARIES: Remember that you MUST specify a city where you are hiring the Mercs. Failure to do this will result in no Mercs and the money being lost. Also, mercenaries may not be hired for more than one turn at a time. PLEASE put where you are hiring any mercenaries AND how many you are trying to hire AND how much you are willing to pay per point of troops in your builds section on the order form. PLEASE put this information in the notes section at the end of your builds. Otherwise you will not get the mercenaries and the GPs bid on them will be lost. ALSO Mercs must stay with a Merc leader that comes with them (M543) and goes in their own army section.
CITIES & FORTRESSES: For expanding cities please put the name of the city in location, not the region it is in. Also for WP for fortress always put the region in for Location and for WP for cities always put in the city name for location. Last but not least in the item column in the build section do NOT write out fully what your building please use the codes, for example: your building 10 elite infantry, do NOT write "Build 10 elite infantry", instead write 10ei and do that for all units and also put no space between 10 and ei (the lords program reads it this way.). Also please use abbreviations in the rules for Intel commands (CI for counter intelligence, etc)
CLAIMED REGIONS & CITIES: These regions and cities will be noted by a dot in your color, not a full color shading of the region.
HEIRS AND PRINCES: Unless stated otherwise in your orders, when a King's male child comes of age he is promoted to Heir (if he has none, then grandson, then any male child in royal family). Likewise when any male child comes of age he is promoted to Prince if there is an opening and I don't forget to check.
PWBs: Please let me know if PWB are for a city or a region by putting a 'c' or 'r' in fount of it like this: 10rPWB.
LEADER NAMES: From now on if your leader has NO name he or she gets NO action…
LEADER (& ARMY) ACTIONS & MOVEMENT: You must state their actions and their AP cost, and their movements (all the regions traveled through) and movement AP cost, you cannot say go to a region and vanquish my enemy. You can say follow another leader’s orders, but the other leaders order’s must be spelled out!!! (Otherwise any vague orders will not be done, as I don’t have the time to do it for you.)
NEWSFAX BLURB: If you have the time, it would help me write the newsfax if you write a sentence or two or even a paragraph, and/or a summery on what your country and its leaders are trying to accomplish during the turn…
MAX TAX: is 1.5 in T49 and beyond, as the world gets darker and resources become scarcer.
SHIPS: Must end the turn in a port, if not in a port they lose 10% the first turn, 20% the second turn, 30% the third turn, etc…
HC (Have Children): can only be combined with RULE and ADMINISTER in L27, otherwise it’s a separate action for your leader.
FLAGS: BTW I could use some more flags as over half of you don’t have one… (No flag, no country, just joking…lol)
MAX FIELD FORTS PER REGION: Field Fort
units may be built in any controlled region. Field Forts built in
Allied, Economic Allied, Feudal Allied, Tributary or Non-Paying
Tributary region belong to the region, not to the `national'
government (but can be used as `national' garrisons and still require
support costs to be paid, where applicable). The maximum number of
Field Forts that can be built by a position in a region is limited
to:
(GPv of the region +1) x (Siege QR/2) x Control Status Tax
Multiple (Note in L27, if result is zero, then a region can have a
max of 1 field fort, as long as you control it)
Fractional
forts round up to 1. Zero forts remain zero. The presence of a Field
Fort in a region adds a +1 Movement Modifier to any enemy moving
through the region.
NOTE: Any region with over the Max in Field forts, the extra Field forts was converted to Infantry.
RUTTERS TRANSFERRED: You need to list all the rutters that you are transferring in your notes section of your orders in order for them to be transferred (so I can copy and paste), or none will be transferred.
***MAXIMUM STATUS FOR A REGION: I will enforcing the max status for a region by religion and by terrain located in tables 2-21 and 2-22 on page 22 in rule book 5.10 starting T50, please let me know in your orders if any region’s status needs to be fixed.
***THIN GOVERNMENT: If your nation is suffering from thin government, all regions and cities that are not at friendly status will have a revolt check starting T50…
***NAVIGABLE RIVERS: Rivers with hash marks are non-navigable in the hash marked area except for trade (routes, and internal & fishing fleets), canals and unmarked parts of rivers are navigable by any size ship…

God-Emperor Tatshushi ordered that his armies be rebuilt for the next phase of his divine plans and declared that "we are winning the war against the unbelievers". He then personally met with Lord Captain Hu Di of the Pirates and gave him a paltry sum to punish the Northern Chinese for their lack of belief in his divineness. He also decreed that the Lord Captain was one of his many angels.
The tides of war turned into a tidal wave against the Japanese as the Samurai were driven out of the mainland by a Horan / Buddhist army before reinforcements could arrive. The Samurai did everything right to prepare against the Horan / Buddhist army with a directed defense, and their Intel also attempted to block any CMs, yet the Black Dragon CM got through and thousands of Samurai troops mutinied. On the day of the battle it was sheer numbers that won the day for Horan / Buddhist army as the Samurai were out numbered two to one and wiped out before reinforcements could arrive. Elsewhere the Pirate fleet raided Horan lands, while the Buddhist fleet raided Nippon lands and Kannagara sites.
Grandmaster Manu survived numerous assassin attempts, but was more enraged that his army lost another 10% to mutiny even with his Intel Ops seeking to counter it. He had the perfect defense plan in place to hold against the expected attack on Shangtung by the Chinese. He had ordered his men to fight to the last man and hold off the Chinese until reinforcements could arrive. But the Chinese outnumbered and outfought his demoralized troops and utterly defeated them before help could arrive and embarrassingly the Grandmaster and another leader were captured by the Buddhist before they could perform seppuku. (Also an AO against the Samurai BL caused two leaders to revolt and leave the Order until the BL could be regained.)
[See Japan-China War [727- ?] for details]
The mighty Emperor Tuoba Xiao Ri hired the Pagan and Buddhist mercs and returned to the mainland after his victory in Korea, and he was more than ready to react to any new Japanese invasions. He was almost disappointed that there were none.
[See Japan-China War [727- ?] for details]
The new Boy-Emperor Lui Chen followed his father’s example and stayed home to guard the homeland. He ordered more troops trained and that a Prince and one of his leaders were to lead them in battle against the Japanese and drive them off the mainland and into the sea! (With the Buddhist Temple army’s help of course.) Both of the Honan leaders were grievously wounded in the battle, but victorious in battle against the Japanese in Shangtung, afterwards the region was given back to Black Dragon control. Elsewhere a minor clerk was found embezzling gold from the royal treasury, and while wasn’t much left to steal, he was executed anyway.
[See Japan-China War [727- ?] for details]
Lord Captain Hu Di met the mad Emperor of Nippon and was hired for a job. He agreed for a paltry sum of gold to punish the Northern Chinese for their arrogance. But some of the mad Emperor’s royal madness rubbed off on him. The Lord Captain then proclaimed himself part of the 'Honorable Company of Oriental Seafarers', and that he was an Angel of the God-Emperor of the Golden Throne of Amaterasu the Sun-Gold.

Emperor Hu Xi was saddened by the death of his wife Hu Tai Mei (and two of his daughters to a Yellow Fever). He seem to lose all interest in war and ruling and gave command of his very large army to his Heir and he then journeyed off into the mountainous region of Pat’ang and got the region to join the Empire. Many within the royal court thought the Emperor’s leaving was quite strange and many wondered if he would ever return. There were also a few rumors that the Heir would seize the throne in the Emperor’s absent, but it remained empty. Meanwhile Lord Guo Hong got the Fujian local leaders to reconciler their differences and the region rejoined the Empire.
Primate Qi was quite proud that his Buddhist Temple troops were instrumental in driving the Samurai off the mainland. He also sent more missionaries to Nippon with the philosophy of converting thy enemies.
Emperor Temasek ruled, and promoted his son to Heir. He kept up the Empire’s economic expansion as he was determined to keep the title of world’s greatest economic power. But there was a minor setback when a tsunami damaged three regions and wiped out an island. Further unpleasant news arrived that a pair of leaders had died under mysterious circumstances.
Emperor Tri Jayaavarman II issued quite a few orders of expansion as the country celebrated its bicentennial: The new port city of Kshatriyapura is founded in Korat on the backs of the south fork of the Xi River. Five existing cities were increased in size. The walls around the largest cities in the empire were strengthened. Public works were built in the cities of New Indrapura and Isanapura. Five thousand horse and eleven thousand foot are raised. Prince Tri Utvaditya marched forth with his army to destroy the rebellious city of Tonkin. He also sent the Princess Tri Jasiri to Pals to marry its Heir to strengthen ties between our two countries. Unfortunately all didn’t go as planned as the Emperor was stricken and died in 743. His Heir Tri Jayavarman III ascended the throne, but the Heir’s older brother Prince Tri Utvaditya felt he was passed over (he was next in line) and better qualified to rule and refused to grant him fealty and instead joined with the people of the city of Tonkin and they made him their Overlord (his army stayed loyal to him, and an Champa assassin failed to stop the Prince’s revolt).
Tri Utvadilya was sent to deal with rebellious city of Tonkin with his army, instead he joined them and was made their overlord. When a Champa assassin failed to stop the prince’s revolt the Overlord retaliated by taking over the region of Annam. A communiqué is sent to Champa that Tonkin will return the region of Annam to Champa if Tonkin can remain a free city (and Champa must start trade with the free city).

The new Primate Tri Subadar rejected the Indian Hindu teaching of Kali and the prejudice of the Indians to the Champans and embraced Sauras. He promised that fire from Sauras the Sun-God would rain down on the devil worshippers of Kali for poisoning his brother.

The Primate Kuan Yin died in 741 and his fleet never left port, his 2nd in command Tri Nampong took command of the fleet and thought it was prudent to stay in port rather than journey out by himself. Beside the point he was busy forcing the temple to accept the first Champa Primate, unfortunately he died in 744 of what looked like poisoning. This cause a Schism when his brother Tri Subadar forming a Hindu Temple to Sauras the Sun-God in Champa and nearby countries. In the Temple’s most secluded chambers Bishop Dava was chosen to be the next Primate and given the duty of reuniting the Hindu Faith which lay shattered into pieces of Kali, Sauras, and Heretic.

Emperor Sanat gathered some more of his forces together under his command, and was prepared to react to any threats from outside the Empire’s borders. Within the Empire’s borders he continued the rebuilding process needed to recover from the devastation of the Empire’s only second civil war since Asamakara’s founding over two hundred years ago...Strangely the Assassins of Kali were quiet, but then Kali had enough problems of her own.
King Tushtar ordered further reductions in Realm’s RS (and was helped by Asamakara) in preparing to return to the Hindu fold, but now as fate would have it they had two choices: Kali or Sauras. Therefore the King continued to rule wisely (with Price administering) and did some IMAing to improve trade. Meanwhile one of his leaders found out more about the greenstone gem and excitedly made his report to the king.
Old Emperor Versha proceeded with his long awaited plans to retire and he passed on his Rod of Rulership to his Heir in a grand ceremony. His Heir Harsha took his place on the throne with no challenges to his rule and old Emperor settled down on his country estates, and after about a year of peace and quiet he passed away at age 77 (in 742). The beginning of Harsha’s rule was marred by a tsunami which destroyed two cities and devastated their regions (it even damaged the adjacent Sirivijaya region of Pegu [but its citadel withstood the waves], and rumor had it that it also damaged a couple more regions). Further troubles consisted of diplomatic relations in Tibet that went from bad to worse as the region denied any claims by the Empire, and that the Hindu faith that broke into two fractions with most of new one in his country, leaving the Emperor the need to decide which one to support or to remain neutral.
Emperor Birju held a grand funeral to mark the death of his father the retired Emperor Admohi who passed away at age 87 in a monastery. Afterwards faced with questions of his own mortality, he promoted his son to heir to continue his line. He also promoted two of his brothers to Prince, when the current Prince Sivarasa disappeared in Yun (after a blood curling scream) while investigating some clues, and the current Prince Rajev happen to suddenly dropped dead in the middle of diplomatic efforts in Nabhatumi.

Emperor Moltke ruled and propagated, while one of his Princes helped administer to the Empire. He sent valiant Prince Togatan to deal with the Black Beast with a good size army, but the creature escaped by crossing over into Parthia. When word reached the Emperor of the creature’s escape; he said its Parthia’s problem now.
The vigilant Shah Ahmorad II ordered a major search and destroy mission against any SEs found in his Empire and put all the empire’s resources behind the effort. Alas the endeavor was unsuccessful and the missing leader and prince were not found and was presumed dead. Meanwhile there were rumors that the Black Beast had re-entered the Empire, after being chased out of Kara-Khitai.
Patriarch Auga established 3 out of 4 sites as missionaries were in the most part successful in spreading the Zoroastrian faith. A Bishop failed so badly in trying to found an abbey that he was stoned to death by an angry mob in the city of Roxan.
ShahanShah Kavadh II again ruled poorly, but this time his Heir help offset the thin government by administering. He stated that one day our Empire will outshine the Greeks in technology as he order a large investment made to the university. A few leaders and the some Intel Ops were searching for SEs within the Empire but found nothing, either they were looking in the wrong place, or the SEs were deeply hidden.
The new Grandmaster Doughen issued not a single order for some strange reason.
No orders received...
Sultan Ibrahim did something his father never did (and that no one else has done before); well at least his men did it under his orders. They were able to at last kill the terrible sea serpent with their massive fleet of over 350 warships finally ridding the sea of that menace. The victorious fleet returned to port with the serpent’s carcass in tow, and the fleet’s courageous leaders were reward with very shiny metals of valor.

The Emperor Merakh along with his Heir, were geared up to engage any hostile forces with their large army, and ready to crush any revolts near his homeland. He ordered that an agro payment be made to the Pirates to help them on their way out of the Med. Now hopefully the Med will be safe for trade and shipping with the Pirates gone.
Theban Master Octavious was horrified that a fire that started at the Theban site in Rome and burnt the city to the ground with disastrous results for the WRE, the next day he was found dead in his bed at age 70 without a mark on him. In addition a Brother named Tiberius disappeared in Alexandria and was presumed dead when a hand with his sigil ring on it was found floating in the harbor.
The Campaign ended with the Pirates scampering out of the Med in reaction to a very large Persian fleet entering the fray…
The Campaign started out poorly with usual non-cooperation among the Coptics. As Elder Brother Severinus of the Thebans took command of his late master’s army and tried to finish his orders (whether an oversight or not the Axums were not included in the efforts to attack the horde). It was maybe lucky for Thebans, because by the time they got to the region of Wadai the horde was gone, so the Theban army returned to Darfur for some rest and relaxation.
Patriarch James issued no instructions and stayed locked in his chambers as if he was hiding from somebody or thing.
No orders received…
Lord Capt Red Markusum ordered a mass conscription to rebuild his fleet. He then ordered that everything be packed up, all buried treasure dug up and loaded up on transports, also anything left behind was to be burnt or smashed so the Coptics world not get any booty. And then they sail out of the Med and headed north to cause more trouble elsewhere…

King Sarantino II had died in 740; his Heir Sarantino Gelan III presided over his funeral and came to power without any opposition. Sarantino Gelan III then started his rule off by interfering in mercantile affairs. Also some talk and rumors flew about the capital about a prince and a member of the royal family who died together in a mysterious carriage accident in the capital. Meanwhile the government sent a gold payment each to the Lombards and the Knight Defenders.
Grandmaster Daniel didn’t last very long in his sickroom as he died of same mysterious illness in 742 at age 57 that killed his precursors. Joshua reluctantly accepted the office of Grandmaster but feared he wouldn’t last any longer than his predecessors either. Master Joseph completed the new order estates in Thessoloniki then dropped dead of what appeared to be heart failure as he was leaving the city (he was only 45).

The Emperor Djibuti II ordered the Kanem Nation to throw up defenses across the empire (many new and higher walls were built around its cities) and add to the depth of its army as the uncomfortable and foreign reality of war (the Wadai Horde) on Kanem soil sinks into the national psyche. As the populace worried about illegal aliens crossing the border to take their jobs and women, the farmers salivated at the prospect of legions of cheap foreign labor, as they sharpened their pitchforks…Meanwhile there was disturbing news of the El Mereie desert expanding closer to Kanem’s borders.

King Kwaku was very, very, very concerned about the new nearby horde, so he sent a couple of leaders out beyond the Kingdom’s borders to see if they could detect the horde coming and send early word so that Akan could prepare a warm welcome. Many defenses were thrown up in the eastern part of the country as four new city fortresses towered above their surroundings. The King grimly announced to his war council that they should let the horde take losses by having to go through our defenses if necessary, it is better to lose some regions than the whole country.
Elderly Emperor Verhanu passed on in 743 not unexpectedly at age 84, although he wanted to be at the forefront of the defenses that were setup under his orders to defend the homeland and capital from the new horde. However he fortunately was bedridden the last couple of years of his life and the Heir was the one who had to see to the Empire’s defenses. The good size troop buildup triggered by the new horde’s presence proceeded without a hitch, as 50 warships were decommissioned to help supply the manpower. After the Emperor’s passing the Heir came to power without any problems as the Empire’s people rallied to its defenses. But one thing did bother the new Emperor, it was the distain the Theban forces (as they marched though Axum) showed the Empire, as if working with the Axums was beneath them, the Theban officers were rude and ignored all Axum suggestions made towards the horde defenses and didn’t even offer (or trust the Axums) to make the Axum forces their rearguard.

Emperor Vijay ordered rutters transferred to his Hindu allies and surprisingly to Nippon; he stated that the Hindu world needs to be closer and be able to reach and defend each other. In that regards a taskforce was sent east, the expedition was called the 'Unerring Mountain Search' it was a perilous journey and sad news was received that Prince Mehta died during the voyage east... Meanwhile the Emperor and a couple of his leaders had no luck in find out anything more about those pesky SEs rumored to be in the Empire.
King Benedict ruled and wanted to sire some more kids but a suitable wife could not be found. He also ordered his Heir to escort the Princess Dikeledi to be married into the Hindu Empire of Afriqan’s royal family, only trouble was that nobody in Afriqan made any plans for a wedding and even refused them admittance to see the Afriqan Emperor and they both returned home quite embarrassed. Meanwhile King Benedict held a funeral for his father, the retired (in 740) King Lumbago (died in 742 of the old age of 80).
King Shaka Zulu expanded his Kingdom by colonizing two regions, then enslaving and re-colonizing two other regions while his Heir ruled quite well in his stead. Other than that things were really quiet in the southern tip of Africa.
Horde Lord Obi Wadai suffered through a midlife crisis that kept him from making up his mind on who to attack and his Horde ended up in Loriu. But by 745 an Axum assassin’s blade that wounded his heir and a Theban blade that wounded him help make it up his mind for him. He vowed death to the Coptics! and everywhere his horde went it military converted the region back to African Pagan.

Emperor Octavious decided that the New Roman Empire, being neither Roman nor new, needed a more fitting name for the times and tenor of the world: The British Empire. He also promoted his son Artorius II to heir when he came of age, which almost didn’t happen if not for the Assassin Ops foiling a kidnapping attempt. Princess Juli found no further information on the red stone, and almost gave up on finding Avalon’s location until she came across of an old report of a fisherman sighting an uncharted island half covered in mist on the other side of the Irish Sea. But to her disappointment she also discovered in an old scroll that stated that only a male descendent of Arthur’s line can rediscover Excalibur.
Pope Peter made a trip to the Goths to help with the converting of the royal family and country. He was sure he would finish the conversion but he was mistaken, it was almost like there were unseen forces at work opposing the Church. Elsewhere the news wasn’t any better, some pirates arrived in the Baltic and took over two island from the Danes enslaving the Christian pop and re-colonizing it with heathens. They also raided regions around the Baltic, although they were driven off at some places, they managed to destroy and loot sites in Norway, Smaland and Bornholm. Also an attempt to free Cardinal Gurda failed miserably, and rumors that the practice of Black Sorcery was starting to spread throughout Europe.

He almost tore out his beard as he was fluming, neither of his army or fleet were on react and the army was defending Zealand. He only good news was that his troops drove back the Pirate raiders from the regions of Denmark and Zealand, but the Empire’s trade was greatly disturbed by their piracy in the Baltic and Skaggerak. Worse yet his people in Rugen and Bornholm (and its city) were re-colonized by the pirate scum, when word reached the Emperor he dropped dead of a heart attack at age 75, and his Son and Heir succeeded him with no rebellions…

King Nordberth was flabbergasted that during the expansion of the city of Riga that a fire could break out and burn the city to the ground. That port was their main trade gateway to the west, and trade to the west would be greatly hampered until it was rebuilt. Well from there his rule went downhill, as unfortunately he passed away during the horrible winter of 743 from a terrible cold. His leaders did fared just as well, the ones searching for SEs came up empty handed, and the brilliant slave raiding Lord Stagar was killed by a stray arrow during a slave raid and his second in command brought his troops home without capturing any slaves… The King’s Heir Norwulf decaled himself Emperor of the Teutons as the country adopted an imperial government and the new Emperor made his nephew his Heir.

Imperialism: New port city of Vitebsk in

Just starting out with his rule, the King Osoric II presided over two funerals for one for his father and the other for his grandfather. His reign then got much grimmer with news that the dreadful Black Beast was spotted in Kirov, and around the same time a new horde called the Golden Horde was sighted in Saksiny. The gothic gateway of the hordes was threatened yet again…Elsewhere a pair of leaders also didn’t have any luck in finding any beast-masters site either.
Tsesar Asparukh II issued no orders because he died; his Heir was too broken up to do anything once he became Tsesar, also the Empire suffered from thin government.

After his return home Emperor Basileus was concern about news of an unprovoked attack into Bakony by Ulania, but the attack was over too quick and out of range of any troops on react (that was more concern with Bulgaria or other old foes). Otherwise during his rule he was able to rejoice that the famine was ended by a good harvest and things were otherwise quiet, maybe too quiet…
Emperor Helmat Wise-Counsel ruled wisely and was ready to defend what was his, with the help of two leaders administering (unfortunately one did a good job and the other a poor job that they offset each other). Diplomacy: Catalonia [+16 YFC],
Imperialism:
Built 3 roads, but no bridges, and built PWBs for 2 regions.
The new Mark of Ispan Alejandro did pretty much the same as the old Mark. He continued with efforts to bring Catalonia fully into the March with some success. In the meantime he married off his son and new Heir when he came of age, and just about ordered him to provide him with some grandkids while letting him rule in his stead. Meanwhile one of his leaders found a red egg-shaped gem with black cracks in it, while the other found nothing while searching for SEs.
Grandmaster Petros was strung up and hanged from the rafters of an inn in London; he was mistaken by an angry mob for a murderer. Back in the Order’s fortress the Order was almost town apart by the infighting to become the next Grandmaster, at last Sebastian became the next Grandmaster, but he died of strange and swift illness in Lorraine. Rodrigo was in London and was luckily able to retrieve the secrets of Greek Fire from Petros’ room in the inn before it was burned to the ground. When news of Rodrigo’s deed reached the Fortress he was chosen in absentia to be the next Grandmaster. Efforts to increase the Order’s status failed in Britain, Alamanni, and to nobody’s surprise in the ERE. The famine the Order was suffering from ended with a good harvest and much rejoicing.
The ever industrious Emperor Artos II ruled and kept making improvements to his Empire, while his Heir administer and provided him with some more grandkids. The Emperor was unhappy that a city was sacked by an earthquake and another city revolted. Worse yet for the Emperor was the devastating death of his devoted wife, she died after a short illness. The city revolt and his wife’s death (she ended up with the poison instead of him –that was what rumor said) were rumored to be underhanded work of some agents of an empire to the North...
Emperor Theodosius died in 743 trying to save his capital and palace from a massive city fire that burnt to the city of Rome to the ground (violins could be heard in the background). His Heir Justus was able to gain control of the Emperor’s army, but not much else as the empire shattered into pieces. The great military mind of Prince Ludicrous with his 160 heavy elite warships and 16,000 marines took advantage of the chaos to settle in Naples and proclaimed himself King of Naples and the revolting region. Surprisingly all the revolting regions at least paid lip service to the new King. By the way just before everything went to hell, some merchants built a royal road from Latium to Tuscany. Also the Pirates failed to destroy a BL, but there wasn’t much left to destroy as the country lost half its BL, Infra, Intel and assassin ops and bonuses with the lost of its capital…
Non Player Nation…[See WRE]
New Emperor Tomao ruled and fathered some heirs, while totally disregarding the ERE’s insignificant clams to Bakony. He couldn’t be bothered to lead the conquest himself and promoted Prince Ariamo to Heir and ordered him to conquer and colonize the region and expel any ERE troops in the region. Sadly the Heir got a little overzealous and none of the small army of ERE troops survived to be expeled. Elsewhere some leaders discovered a SE site in region of Karlovac and one of them died in the endeavor, and elsewhere another leader had a crystal orb stolen from him…

Chief Eaglewing II started his rule off very poorly by issuing no orders and he went hunting instead…
Chief Wounded Hawk on the other hand started his rule quite well, taking after his father he continued improving his country and introduced new farming methods into the everyday life of his nation.
Chief Ten Bears was strangely quiet and therefore not much got done. In the meantime troubling signs appear that the Black Plague had reached his country with a few deaths among the population here and there. Not surprising the Federation withdrew support for the Pelegian Christian Church since it had abandoned them and returned to the old ways.

Emperor Mathew again gave no orders as his Empire continued to suffer from thin government while celebrating its bicentennial…
Emperor Gareth II ap Grania ac Mian became completely mad and had all the of the royal family executed on charges of treason. When he died a couple years later - old, gray and alone in his chamber, his leaders fought to control the Empire but only succeeded in tearing it apart.
GONE…
Lord Captain Blackjack Sparrow was worried about the famine his pirates were suffering, so he demobilized all his light warships and their crews so he would have fewer mouths to feed. Then he drank himself to death at age 75 in 743, stating he’d rather be dead than bedridden and his Heir Capt Cartagena took over after his passing with minimum violence for a pirate realm. Meanwhile Port-de-Carib was rocked by yet another earthquake, this time it was destroyed.
New Emperor Viracoch Inca was wrong that with his father the Emperor’s death the plague’s hunger was satisfied. It turn out to be only a lull, the Black Plague came back stronger and it wiped out all the country’s leaders and royal family, and devastated its infrastructure so badly that the Empire collapsed…
GONE…
King Garvin ruled and his heir was on alert. But it was no golden age as many worried that the Black Plague would strike them next and the country suffered from cultural apathy. Elsewhere the talks with the local lords of Caraca hit a snag when they starting demanding weekly shipments of grog and ale.
Patriarch Alphonse defended his flock, as news arrived that the last bishop of Casablanca died, leaving its garrison leaderless. Meanwhile missionaries sent to the North and the South had some success in converting the heathens.
Chief Tovaro continued to rule although everybody said he was older than dirt and would pass away any day now. He fooled them all by celebrating his 80th summer even though he needed his heir to help with administering to the day to day workings of the tribe. Prince Kuvuru traced the creature that carried off the old heir to an ancient tree, but only found the old Heir’s bones and no sight of the creature even though he had waited weeks by the tree.
A hero is a man who does what he can.
