Welcome to L27, I am your GM for this chaotic world of the dark ages; my name is Chet S. My Lords GM address is: Lords27gm@throneworld.com for orders and L27 stuff, and my L27 paypal address is: lords27gm@throneworld.com
***TURN FEE: Starting in T49 is $7.00 donation, and there is also a $7.00 donation for a startup fee for new players. Also I do not accept any personal checks as my bank charges me a $20 fee for any bounced checks that I deposit...(Cash, money orders & certified checks are ok.)
TURN BALANCE: Any nation that reaches a NEGATIVE BALANCE without making an arrangement with me will not be processed, and not sending orders in for three turns in a row (with or without payments and without a good reason), will force me open your country to a new player who has the time and money...
SWITCHING NATIONS: I have policy of no switching nations if your balance is in the red, until that negative balance is paid and you must also pay for one turn ahead so you're in the black.
***NEW ORDER FORM: Please use new orders form it has a Blue highlight section in the middle of it, otherwise you are using the wrong sheet and need to download a new one from the file section of this site or at the L27 home site at: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Lords-27/files/T48%20L27_Excel_orders_template.xls If you do not have Microsoft Excel, there is a free version of Office called OpenOffice that will open, edit and save Excel file at: http://www.openoffice.org/
E-MAIL ADDRESS & TURN NUMBER: Make sure your e-mail address is right in your orders, that is the address the program will send your stat sheet to... and that it has the right turn number too!
ORDER NAME FORMAT: L27_T42_NationName.xls.
PROJECTS: Do not put new or old projects in the builds section of the Order form; they only go in the new or existing projects section (with ID number), and do not delete any part of the order form that you are not using, just leave the unused sections blank and do not add any page-breaks either, or write outsides the borders (your personal notes doubles the pages).
TROOP BUILDS: If your leader is in the region already or will be in that region to pick up your newly built troops, don't build troops for the garrison and then have him pick them up, just build troops for him (NOTE: he still has to go and pick them up).
MERCENARIES: Remember that you MUST specify a city where you are hiring the Mercs. Failure to do this will result in no Mercs and the money being lost. Also, mercenaries may not be hired for more than one turn at a time. PLEASE put where you are hiring any mercenaries AND how many you are trying to hire AND how much you are willing to pay per point of troops in your builds section on the order form. PLEASE put this information in the notes section at the end of your builds. Otherwise you will not get the mercenaries and the GPs bid on them will be lost. ALSO Mercs must stay with a Merc leader that comes with them (M543) and goes in their own army section.
CITIES & FORTRESSES: For expanding cities please put the name of the city in location, not the region it is in. Also for WP for fortress always put the region in for Location and for WP for cities always put in the city name for location. Last but not least in the item column in the build section do NOT write out fully what your building please use the codes, for example: your building 10 elite infantry, do NOT write "Build 10 elite infantry", instead write 10ei and do that for all units and also put no space between 10 and ei (the lords program reads it this way.). Also please use abbreviations in the rules for Intel commands (CI for counter intelligence, etc)
CLAIMED REGIONS & CITIES: These regions and cities will be noted by a dot in your color, not a full color shading of the region.
HEIRS AND PRINCES: Unless stated otherwise in your orders, when a King's male child comes of age he is promoted to Heir (if he has none, then grandson, then any male child in royal family). Likewise when any male child comes of age he is promoted to Prince if there is an opening and I don't forget to check.
PWBs: Please let me know if PWB are for a city or a region by putting a "c" or "r" in fount of it like this: 10rPWB.
LEADER NAMES: From now on if your leader has NO name he or she gets NO action...
LEADER (& ARMY) ACTIONS & MOVEMENT: You must state their actions and their AP cost, and their movements (all the regions traveled through) and movement AP cost, you cannot say go to a region and vanquish my enemy. You can say follow another leader's orders, but his must be spelled out!!! (Otherwise any vague orders will not be done.)
NEWSFAX: If you have the time, it would help me write the newsfax if you write a sentence or two or even a paragraph, and/or a summery on what your country and its leaders are trying to accomplish during the turn...
MAX TAX: dropped from 2.0 to 1.9 in T45, it will be 1.8 in T46, 1.7 in T48, 1.6 in T48, and 1.5 in T49 and beyond, as the world gets darker and resources become scarcer.
SHIPS: Must end the turn in a port, if not in a port they lose 10% the first turn, 20% the second turn, 30% the third turn, etc...
HC (Have Children): can only be combined with RULE and ADMINISTER in L27, otherwise it's a separate action for your leader.
FLAGS: BTW I could use some more flags as over half of you don't have one...
***MAX FIELD FORTS PER REGION: Field Fort units may be built in any controlled region. Field Forts built in Allied, Economic Allied, Feudal Allied, Tributary or Non-Paying Tributary region belong to the region, not to the `national' government (but can be used as `national' garrisons and still require support costs to be paid, where applicable). The maximum number of Field Forts that can be built by a position in a region is limited to:
(GPv of the region +1) x (Siege QR/2) x Control Status Tax Multiple (Note in L27, if result is zero, then a region can have a max of 1 field fort, as long as you control it)
Fractional forts round up to 1. Zero forts remain zero. The presence of a Field Fort in a region adds a +1 Movement Modifier to any enemy moving through the region.
NOTE: Any region with over the Max in Field forts, the extra Field forts were converted to Infantry.
RUTTERS TRANSFERRED: You need to list all the rutters that you are transferring in your notes section of your orders in order for them to be transferred (so I can copy and paste), or none will be transferred.

So great has been the endurance, so incredible the achievement, that,
as long as the sun keeps a set course in heaven,
it would be foolish to despair of the human race.

While God-Emperor Tatshushi chuckled madly as he tightened his grip on the rule of the earth, the moon and the stars, his royal advisers were even able to get him to interfere in mercantile affairs and convert all internal fleets to fishing fleets, and order tons of PWB built to guard against any famines. The God-Emperor was outraged to hear that one of his leaders and some ships never returned from exploring the dead city and ring of stones in Magadan and he ordered that fire and brimstone rain down upon that region from the sky. On the other hand he was so pleased that gold was discovered in some of his northern regions that he ordered a throne made for himself out of solid gold.
The tides of war begun to turn against Japan, starting with a Honan /Buddhist army of about 45,000 that surprises a Nippon army of 17,000 in Houma in the middle of regional genocide and wiped it out. At about the same time as the Nippon Navy enters Tsushima Strait and another Nippon Army of 20,000 regional genocided Yen and it begins the siege of city of Yen-Chang. Next up the Kannagara transferred all the field forts in Hopei to Nippon and withdrew into Yen (after a Buddhist Cause Mutiny depleted the Kannagara Army by 35%), right after that the Honan /Buddhist army attacked into Hopei as if it were shadowing the Samurai and destroyed all the field forts there. About the same time the Black Dragon Army did a flanking maneuver and attacked into Anshan, meanwhile some Nippon Mercs attacked into Yum. Then it got even better for the Chinese, as the Honan /Buddhist army advances into Yen and surprises the Nippon army sieging Yen-Chang and utterly defeats it, while as the Black Dragon Army sacks the city of Wonsan. Then the Honan /Buddhist army crossed the Huang Ho River into Tsainan as the Kannagara Army attacked into and looted Shangtung, whereas the Black Dragon Army advances into Kosuryo conquers it and sacks its city. Last but not least the Kannagara Army of 37,000 attacked into Tsainan and found the Chinese with 50,000 men (with 30 field forts) waiting for them and the unevenly matched armies fought to a bitter stalemate and the Samurai were forced to withdraw back into Shangtung in disarray, roundabout the same time as the Black Dragon continued their march South into Silla subjecting it and sacking its city too.
Grandmaster Manu kept up the war, but things didn’t go as plan and by the end of 740 he could swear that the Chinese had spies among his forces as they seem to know everything he did almost before he did.He was outraged with both the loss of Master Tsitumi who was wounded by Honan Assassins and then killed by Buddhist Assassins, and by the cause mutiny by those damned Buddhist that reduced his army by a third.

Tuoba An Kuo came up with a brilliant plan to outflank the Japanese, he gave most of his troops and the plan to his brother Prince Tuoba Xiao Ri. The Prince said to his Emperor 'I need one more thing to complete your plan', the Emperor replied 'Anything your wish, you will have, just conquer Korea for me', the Prince answered 'I need your throne!' Stating that his Emperor was too weak to win the war, the Prince had him imprisoned and himself crowned Emperor, then he conquered Korea for himself.

Emperor Chen was defending his homeland when he was struck down by a strange illness, he lingered until 740, and sadly he was only forty-five years old. Luckily for the realm he had promoted his young son Liu Chen to heir with his last breath before his passing away. Meanwhile Prince Jin Hwang’s army worked amazingly well together with the Buddhist Temple troops against the Japanese. The new Boy-Emperor was pleased to hear that his Assassin Ops brought down one of the those vile Kannagara leaders and very pleased that the savage Kannagara Army was thwarted in Tsainan by Prince Jin Hwang’s glorious army with the Buddhist Temple army’s help.
[See Japan-China War [727- ?] for details]
Lord Captain Hu Di was on his mighty flagship ready to repulse any foolish anti-pirate endeavors against his realm, meanwhile he ordered his cities’ and fortress’s walls strengthened and his already impressive fleet expanded. His Heir young Hu Di II ruled in his stead and mumbled something about his father not being much of a pirate, that when he became Lord Captain the seas would tremble in his ship’s wake.
Mercenaries: See Orient
Emperor Hu Xi for some reason didn’t pursue his vow for revenge (for his father’s death) or the war in the North. Whether he was rebuilding or distracted by an outbreak of Yellow Fever in the city Hienyang that started within a Buddhist Temple (and also killed two Princes and a Leader), either way there was no official announcement on why the Hu had abandoned its Chinese brothers to the North. So while the Emperor just ruled and IMA, and of course was ready to react to any threats to his Empire. In Fujian diplomatic efforts failed so badly that the region revolted. Meanwhile the country’s bicentennial was celebrated somberly and in a subdued manner.
Primate Mu increased the tithe on Honan; he then perished at the hands of a mob in the city of Chengdu that was urged on by Japanese sympathizers while trying to establish a church there. But before his death he signed orders to execute the cruel savant named Tri Kal as a traitor for his anti-tech campaign and as an agent of the Samurai. Also for the first time in decades, bureaucrats and scribes were lent to the Black Dragon Empire (or anybody).

Emperor Temasek did the old rule and sire heirs (including a set of triplets, but his wife died soon afterwards at age 50) routine. He finally became a little concerned over this Empires skyrocketing population so he ordered some internal fleets converted to fishing fleets. Meanwhile a large diplomatic effort in the city of Khu Duhernu produced a little result, when the stubborn city begrudgingly agreed to pay tribute. Elsewhere Admiral Jay’Va died aboard his flagship when a rogue wave came crashing down upon his fleet, and only half of the anti-pirate fleet made it back to port (Note: you need two leaders if you don’t want to lose half your fleet when the leader dies).
Emperor Tri Jayaavarman II cursed under his breath as he worked through the details of the never ending need to adjust trade routes caused by the upheavals in the region while his grandson helped out with the more mundane paperwork of running the nation. So his temper was already short when a court functionary brought the latest report from the north. The Tonkinese (115 years since their conquest) still adamantly refused to take any steps towards closer ties with the kingdom. While he admired their stubbornness, enough was enough. He ordered them enslaved and their city totally destroyed - erasing the last population group in the world still speaking Vietnamese. Unfortunately Lord Lon Noi blundered so badly while enslaving the population and burning of the city of Tonkin so bad that his small force was wiped out by the city guard and his head was placed on a pike outside the city walls. In other actions, 13,000 Champans were inducted into the military (primarily to man fortresses built within Champa lands) and a new city of Durgapura was founded in the region of Dai Viet. Meanwhile land trade was finally initiated with the Temple of Kali after almost a couple hundred years, and preparations were made in the Empire for a bicentennial celebration in 741.

The Primate Kuan Yin was in the midst of his daily meditation when the goddess blessed him with a spark of enlightenment. The goddess Ameratsu of the Nihonjin was an avatar of Kali! The followers of the Shinto way were essentially unenlightened Hindus requiring further instructions in the full tenets of the faith.
The collapse of the ruling dynasties of Gupta and Asamakara were the punishment of the gods and goddesses for failing to realize this. The temple needed to be reformed. Aid needed to be sent to the followers of the goddess in their war against the Chinese infidels.
He sent this call to arms to the nations bordering the mighty Hu. While willing to fight for the faith, they preferred peace and a modus vivendi was reached with the mighty Hu Empire. Still the Primate felt direct action was necessary, and hoping to shame the so-called military order of Sword of Shiva to action, he personally led forth the fleet of the temple of Kali and sailed to the Far East to search for combat with Honan, Black Dragon or Buddhist Temple shipping. Meanwhile a Bishop with Hindu Mercs attacked into Chinling and enslaved the population, and then it raided the three adjacent regions of the Black Dragon.
Grandmaster Vishnu still waited for some guidance.
NEW PLAYER but no orders.
Emperor Sanat began his new rule by staying close to his army and being ready to counter any hostile actions by any neighbors. He ordered some cities, public works and field forts rebuilt, but it was only a start of the rebuilding process as the civil war has done great damage to the Empire. In the meantime Religious fundamentalism swept the land and helped strengthen the religious sector as wave of missionaries spread out to the breakaway regions and islands. The only unpleasant thing to happen was that Prince Parmesh was preaching in Maru and was stabbed and killed by another of those Kali daggers in the back.
King Tushtar ruled his new Realm and oversaw the startup of many new trade routes (IMA). He also had a leader help him administer and sent another leader with some troops to defend Kalinga. He then supported the lowering of the country’s religious strength by the Temple of Kali with intentions of his Realm returning to the Hindu fold. He also had a third leader investigate the island of SirLanka /Seylan and the leader, but the leader only found a silver rock with some green clacks in it.
Old Emperor Versha was prepared mentally (alas his body was failing) to counter any hostile actions against his grand Empire with his superior army. He was pleased with the news that Ceylon agreed to convert to Orthodox Hinduism and sent some missionaries to help support them. Sadly the Emperor’s heath went from bad to worse and by his 76th birthday in 740 he was on his deathbed, but he was happy to live long enough to promote his grandson to Heir, and he hoped to be remembered as a great leader.
Emperor Birju was a very busy man; he ceded the city of Lhasa to the Palas Empire (rather than risk war with them), took command of some HW and HT in Benares, he IMA, and even took some time to sire some heirs, all while ready to react to any trouble with his well trained army. He ordered a new National Library in city Benares called "Palaces of Enlightenment", a new Aqueduct in city of Benares called "Birju Aqueduct", and kept up the city expansions in his Empire. Unfortunately the diplomatic talks stalled in Sikkim when the Leader in charge of them was found dead in his room with a Kali dagger in his back.

Emperor Moltke issued no orders as a massive fire burnt the city of Tolmak to the ground (I think he was playing a violin at the time). Some more bad news arrived that the Black Beast has entered the Empire.
The Shah Ahmorad II took command of some troops and ordered more trained to strengthen the country’s military. The Heir and some troops were sent to investigate the Black Beast in Balkh, but by the time they got there the Black Beast had left the Empire. Elsewhere a leader named Urbek disappeared without a trace in Kash, and Prince Taryn disappeared without a trace in Baluchistan.
Patriarch Roscoepeekoe was ripped apart by the Black Beast in Trans-Oxania, very unlucky to be in its path. Back home upon the tragic word of the Patriarch’s Death, a council of Archbishops elected an extraordinary young Bishop named Auga to be the next Patriarch. At the same time as a massive city fire destroyed the city of Marib. Once again over half a dozen groups of missionaries were send out and all had success converting the unbelievers to one degree or another.
ShahanShah Kavadh II ruled, but so ineptly that his Empire suffered from thin government. His older brother (and heir) was found dead at 45 in his chambers with a Kali dagger in his throat. The upset ShahanShah then promoted his son Kavadh III to Heir and vow to find the killers of his old Heir. In the Med, a Persian anti-pirate patrol helped the Egyptians destroy a small Pirate fleet off the coast of the island of Cyprus. Elsewhere another leader died in Psidia of a strange and fast acting illness. Lastly a large gold shipment was sent to Ulania.
Grandmaster Fehntin was found dead in 740 with a Kali dagger in his throat, while investigating the region of Chaldea, and another Master named Douvehu was badly beaten to death by a mob in Wudan-Gul. A third was found in Tyre with his heart ripped out, his room spattered with his blood. There was some good news in this storm of death, there was a ray of hope when the new Grandmaster found a piece of the True Cross in Kuwait, this increased the Order’s Religious strength and their influence throughout the Zoroastrian world.
Sultan Ibrahim was as obsessed as his father had been with killing that horrible sea serpent, and he ordered a pair of brave leaders and a fleet of almost 300 warships to go after it. The leaders and fleet were lucky to find it and managed to wound it, but in the process lost a few ships and one of the leaders were killed by the creature before it slipped away. Meanwhile the Sultan himself inaugurated his rule (with his mighty army) by reminding the desert tribes of Asir of where their loyalty should lie, afterwards he made one of his leaders a governor of Asir and the region became a feudal ally. Also in Ma’rib a camel knocked over a camel-seller’s tent into a fire pit and a massive fire was started that burned the city of Ma’rib to the ground.

Emperor Merakh was fed up with that traitorous student pig named Durmar, so the Emperor and his army of almost 70,000 troops went to seize the traitor and make an example of him, the Rebel’s army of 15,000 students never had a chance and was crushed like a bug. The Rebel was killed and the Emperor’s army only lost a 1,000 in the skirmish. Next the Emperor ordered the navy rebuilt and re-manned, and he was very upset to hear that the Pirates sacked another of his cities in Cyprus and looted the island. Also the fact that Lord Toniker was found dead with a strange looking dagger in his back didn’t please him very much either.
[See The Campaign against the Pirates [726- ?] for details]
Theban Master Octavious defended Catanzaro as reinforcements were snuck in to booster the fleet. Elsewhere a leader that was administering was found with a Kali dagger in his back and another leader fell overboard and drowned bringing the reinforcements.
The Coptics did nothing but withdrew to rebuild their fleets and lick their wounds, while the Pirates took advantage of the lull to sack the Egyptian city of Nicosia, and loot is religious sites and the island of Cyprus. The small Pirate fleet was surrounded in Cyprus by the Egyptian and Persian fleets and destroyed but somehow the slippery Pirate leader managed to escape with the loot.
Patriarch James ran the Church and defended it, and he added some more troops to his army from the regional garrison. At the same time for some strange reason Archbishop Mark was thrown into prison by the local lords there and mysteriously the gold he was carrying to establish new sites disappeared, furthermore the Church site in Provence was destroyed and looted by some unknown assailants. Elsewhere another Archbishop named Cyril was stoned to death in New Jerusalem by a mob.
Lord Capt Red Markusum again sneakily took his small fleet of heavy transports loaded with troops and sacked the Egyptian city of Nicosia this time around, and he even looted the island of Cyprus (he also looted and burned the Theban Order's site and the Coptic Church site there as well). He had cleverly snuck in under the very noses (evaded) of the Egyptian and Persian fleets in the Gulf of Cyprus. But the Egyptian and Persian fleets reacted quickly after seeing smoke raise up from the burning city, they were able to surrounded the island and trapped the Lord Capt in Cyrus, but alas they could no sooner capture the wind for the daring Pirate had his small fleet attempt to break out in the middle of the night and while the Egyptian and Persian fleets hunted them down, he slipped (evaded) out in a couple of dozen rowboats loaded with loot and met up with his main fleet which was hiding just over the horizon. In the meantime the Pirates even had the nerve to send missionaries to the island of Sicily to begin converting them to the Pirate’s Code which started rumors that Sicily was working with the Pirates, or that the Pirates were paving the way for an invasion of Sicily.

Grandmaster Armand died in 737 of a mysterious illness, Master Isaiah replaced him but he too died of the same illness in 738, Daniel then became the next Grandmaster and he too caught the same illness and confined to his bed by 740. The new Emperor Djibuti II gathered his leaders in Hausa, and then he led the march into Nupe to liberate it and its city from the vile rebel Prince Bukodi and his dark rebel army of malcontents. Anticlimactically, when the Emperor arrived he found the rebel already dead, killed by one of the Emperor’s elite Assassins, but the rebel army remained and it was enraged with the loss of its leader, the Emperor paid for the loss with a few thousand troops and a pair of leaders killed before the rebel army could be crushed, and the region and its city liberated. Meanwhile the usual shipments of agro were sent out to its allies from the bountiful breadbasket of the Coptics.
New and inexperienced King Kwaku continued the expansion plans of his predecessor (his father), and was pleased to see the Gold Coast become richer and more fertile. On the other hand the King was displeased to hear of Prince Haruni’s passing, and that he died of the same mysterious illness that quickly aged and killed his father, and the Prince’s passing disrupted the diplomatic talks he was holding in Kafin. To protect himself the King had his Intel Ops investigate the illness and look into any infiltrating in the royal family or government, and just in case he employed a taste tester for his own food.
Emperor Verhanu met with scholars from Axum’s University and set them working to analyze the blue scarab that he had previously found. He also left no stone unturned in investigating the brutal rape and murder of his second wife, but so far nothing has crawled out from underneath the stones. Also a mistake was discovered in the planning of that postal road, so it was removed and will have to be rebuilt in the future. Some good news arrived in that the Intel Ops were successful in breaking Lord Gedaref out of his pirate prison and he came back smelling of rum. The Intel Operation had provided him with a loaf of bread from which he used the crust to lure a dog to bring him the jailer’s keys.

During Emperor Vijay’s rule, the Emperor promoted his son Balraj to heir and sent his brother Prince Manish to join the Temple of as a Prince of the Church (and was surprised to see how quickly he made Bishop). He then announced that the state of Hindu Afriqan demands a greater defensive force than the past. Many Afriqans joined the new growing marine units (under the command of Prince Mehta), with their distinctive seashell symbol, although rumor couldn't decide whether the force might be used to help the KwaZulu's regain their Golden Mountains, or fight Pirates, or even be sent to India. The Emperor Vijay did confirm an offer had been sent to the Coptics to help in their fight, but didn't say whether the offer was accepted. After the huge investment in the university the Emperor proclaimed an age of enlightenment by laying the cornerstone for a new national library. Meanwhile a Lord Srinivas was found dead with a Kali dagger in the heart in the region of Makura upsetting the diplomatic talks there, and soon afterward a local sage revealed that 'The Assassins of Kali' have entered Africa and maybe even the Empire to do their bloody work.
BTW you need to list all the rutters that you are transferring in your notes section of your orders in order for them to be transferred, so none got transferred in T48 by Afriqan.
King Lumbago oversaw the project initiation of two royal roads from Zimbabwe to Kafue, and Zimbabwe to Kariba, before he passed off the crown to his Heir Benedict and then retired to a quite country life at age 75, to enjoy the visits from the grandchildren. His eldest daughter Benalli followed him to his country estate to take care of him. After being crowned, Benedict quickly promoted his son Zimba II to be his Heir and proclaimed himself Emperor over all the Great Zimbabwe from sea to shiny sea.

Emperor Caesar Octavious ruled the Empire, and he ordered his decimated royal navy rebuilt. Enthusiastically he announced a great reward for any hero brave enough to slay the sea serpent stalking the seas surrounding Britain and Gaul. The Emperor was quite upset when news arrived that his brother and Heir Aegisus along with two other leaders were found dead with strange lines and circles covering their bodies. Later that year the Emperor granted the Order of St. George favored status by a royal decree throughout the Empire. The Emperor also proclaimed that his son Artorius II will be his Heir when he comes of age.
Pope Basil died in 738 after a short illness at age 66. The College of Cardinals met in Conclave and choose a new young yet extraordinary Bishop named Peter (yes, another one named Peter). The new Pope was faced with troubling times as there seem to be much resistance and hostility to new sites (over half failed, almost as if somebody or something was opposing them) and worse yet a Cardinal was imprisoned in the city of Gurdia by its city council and a Bishop was killed by a mob in Lothian.
King Jensef died in 740 at the extreme old age of 89, the old coot will forever be remembered as old of Svear’s greatest rulers. His Heir Olof returned home after further colonizing two islands upon hearing news of his father’s passing and succeeded him with no trouble at all. Within the Kingdom there was a response to the natives of Turku slaughtering all the missionaries sent there, the Kingdom tried to raise its religious strength but failed, which resulted in much talk within the Kingdom of returning to the old ways and old gods.
Bjorn Olaffson gave no orders for the third time in a row so the country is:

Emperor Fils ordered and oversaw the retraining and upgrading of some troops, then he interfered in mercantile affairs, overall he enjoyed himself immensely, but by 740 after his 72 birthday he became bedridden and many within the royal count feared he wouldn’t last too long. Meanwhile his Heir kept tight control of the royal navy and was ready to respond to any invasions by sea. Elsewhere there was amazing news that a leader investigating SEs in Odinsmunda found Odin’s Spear. Meanwhile the Empire was suffering from its first famine in ages, with many starving to death.

King Nordberth perpetuated the grand Rulership of his Kingdom, he fathered four more offspring with his worn and weary wife. While two pairs of leaders were searching for SEs, one pair (of princes) found something in a dark alley that so scared the shit out of them that one was killed and the survivor was left mad. On a side note missionaries were successful in Lithuania.
Osoric II became the king of the Goths, as banners and flags flew at half mast. After he watched his grandfather King Alaric, and father Osoric die horrible deaths. As first Alaric then Osoric collapsed and became bedridden, their skin turned pale and they struggled to breathe, their chests swelled and blood exploded out of their mouths, and on both of their foreheads appeared the symbol of the True Cross as they expired (as if scratched by a talon).
Tsesar Asparukh II ruled and IMA, while ordering his Heir Asparukh III and his army to expand the great Empire into Pechneg (to keep the region out of ERE hands). Unfortunately it was those damned Greeks that put a damper on those expansion plans. See the Greek-Slavic War, below. Meanwhile the Church of St. Paul formed a religious sisterhood of the Avowed Sisters of St. Mary of the Blessed Virginity (headed by two daughters of Asparukh II), elsewhere Patriarch Motilor-Silas of the Pauline Church preached to the masses in the city of Eusebiys calling out to the disenfranchised Christian communities across Europe and urging them to reject the petty politics of the organized Christian sects and instead convert to the spiritually pure Pauline tradition.
Asparukh III and his army were marching through Moldavia on the way to Pechneg when they were surprised and attacked by a ERE army crossing the lower Danube, more surprising was in the speed at which the Bulgaria recovered and the ferocity in which they drove the attackers back across the Danube (also luckily for them there were 60 field forts in Moldavia in a area that can now only hold 12.and a city-fortress too). The Greeks were able to retire in good order across the river, regroup and lick their wounds. They waited a year for reinforcements, and then they surged across the river once more and once again were driven back by the Slavs, during which the Greek Heir was wounded, so there was no third attack. All in all the Greeks left almost 20,000 dead behind (and the Danube River ran red), while the Slavs lost a little over 10,000 troops, but had almost half of their field forts destroyed.
Emperor Basileus personally lead the invasion to expand into the north with disappointing results. (see the Greek-Slavic War, 736- ???) As ill fortune placed most of the Bulgarian’s forces in the first region they attacked and they were unable to establish a foothold in Bulgaria. Meanwhile a famine ravaged the empire, from the rich to the poor, their tables and cupboards were bare.
Emperor Helmat Wise-Counsel ruled wise and sired some more heirs; he surprised to find himself loving his wife more than his books. He also began guiding Alamanni out of the dark ages by ordering the cultivation of its first region (and tech advanced). A Lord named Einar One-Eye killed Prince Wunderkind before the Prince could be promoted to Heir; he then killed himself for some unknown reason.

Alistar II, Mark of Ispan’s rule ended in turmoil. What transpired was that he got assassinated in Sagunto, and a pair of his leaders shared the same fate in Catalonia, the dirty deeds done by a group of separatists protesting Lombard control. Luckily the Heir (along with another leader) was able to salvage diplomatic talks in Sagunto (as its city leaders were outraged about the Mark’s death) so brilliantly that he was looked upon as a National Hero for demonizing the separatists.
Grandmaster Petros overconfidently believed that Greek Fire would destroy the Sea Monster, but his tiny fleet of 4 ships and 400 men (with 2 extra leaders) never had a chance. The Grandmaster barely high tailed it back to port in one piece (with half of his fleet sunk; half of its men dead, and one leader swallowed by the Sea Serpent). [Note: a KL against the Sea Serpent failed as the Serpent is not a leader.]
The industrious Emperor Artos II oversaw the upgrade of some HC to HEC, while continuing to rule. A pair of leaders died of some mysterious circumstances, one in Bourges, leaving his command leaderless; the other was in Brest administering. Missionaries were sent to the Heretic lands of Sicily, while an army under Lord Budic’s command conquered Connaught and military converted it. As a reward Budic was granted the region of Connaught as a fiefdom and it became a feudal ally. It seems that Emperor sees himself as the strong right hand of the Celtic Christian faith.
Emperor Theodosius found out how hard it is to DP another country’s homeland as a pair of his leaders failed terribly in their efforts in the region of Sicily. The Emperor’s Heir Christain (the Emperor’s older brother) died of heart failure, and the Emperor made his younger brother Justus his heir. For some strange reason the Emperor couldn’t wait for one of his own child to come of age. Other than that things were quite uneventful in the Empire.
Empress Armania ruled and after 2 healthy children tragedy struck and she died in childbirth along with the third child. Her son Tomao succeeded her without any challenges to the throne. Elsewhere some leaders investigating for SEs found a crystal orb with unknown powers. Later that year Prince Malikan surprisingly was found dead in his locked room with weird symbols on him.
NOTE: The Albions bought horses to the new world and the cavalry count has been completed and there are herds of horses roaming the Great Plains along with the buffalo ... (Completed for Central America too, but not South America)

Chief Eaglewing died in 740 at age 75 after a long illness, his wife Little Deer passed away in his arms and together they met the Great Maker in the Sky. The Chief’s passing left the People with thin government, as his Heir Eaglewing II struggle to fill his moccasins. Most of nation’s leaders were searching for something and one of them found a large black shiny egg with silver cracks in it.
Chief Black Feather fell (was pulled? pushed?) into a hole in ground and never seen again, he was remember as a poor leader that caused much hardship. His Heir (and son) Wounded Hawk succeeded him, but vicious rumors spread around the Nation’s campfires that he had pushed his father into the black pit.
Chief Ten Bears tried to keep up his vigil to protect his Federation, but spent most of the time mourning the loss of his wife Spring Dawning to smallpox (his sister Yellow Finch also succumbed to the disease too). Elsewhere a pair of leader finished exploring the Bahia Campeche, while Swimming Moose on anti-pirate patrol fell over board and didn’t swim well enough to survive. Meanwhile the Federation began to abandon the Pelegian Christian faith and return to its roots of the North Amerind faith.
Chief Wild Oaks sowed his last oats and succumbed to the smallpox in 739, lasting longer than anybody expected him to. The Nation went into mourning and no orders were given.
Chief Hatawin II continued to reign and leave the child-bearing to his heir Hatawin III and his first wife. A pair of his leaders again searched under logs and rocks for something, but again found nothing. The Chief order the building of a great wall and a religious monument to the Kachinas in order to stop the advance of the Baja-Mohave Desert, fearing that it will cover his Federation in sand. While these endeavors seem to have some success, the Chief was disheartened to hear of another new desert that appeared in the north which rumors said that all that entered it died.

Lord Captain Blackjack Sparrow sold the region of Caraca for some coin (and a little bootie.). As he ruled while his heir helped with administering (along with a couple of leaders), many cups of rum were raised in a toast for the Lord Captain as he celebrated his 73 birthday in 740 (in pirate years he was ancient and mostly bed-ridden, or carried everywhere in a carrying chair). The only leader not administering caught a nasty illness and passed away while coughing up a lot of blood. Elsewhere an Earthquake stranded the port of Port-De-Carib.
Emperor Juan Valdez II issued no orders as revolts rocked his Empire; unfortunately he became ill of the Black Plague (that was devastating his Empire) in 738 along with one of his leaders and they both died, the only good news was that with the Emperor’s death the plague’s hunger was satisfied and it seemed to run its course.

During King Garvin bought some real-estate from the pirates, while he and the Heir (a mid life crisis) were devastated by the death of the Heir’s wife and 2 of the three Triplets (and a leader) of the Black Plague that was brought by a Leader from the Empire of the Huari. Another Leader named Prince Joachim died in a Coptic Prison before he could finish and publish a best selling novel of the Arian / Coptic war.
Patriarch Alphonse established a monastery in Palicur, and then stood ready to defend New Fez with his small fleet. Meanwhile a Bishop died of the Black Plague in Arecuna.
Chief Tovaro was distressed to hear that a strange creature with wings (or was it a strange cloud-like creature) carried off his son (and Heir) into the jungle to never be seen again, after much grieving he promoted one of his grandsons to heir to replace his lost Heir.
No obstacles fell in his way that seemed to him insurmountable. He
might be defeated, as he sometimes was, but he shrank from no
hardship through impatience, he fled from no danger through
cowardice.
