Northern Geographic Region:
D'em are Goblins
Two large tribes of goblins seem to have united together to terrorize
basically anyone within reach. So far no stone has been left unturned
to capture and enslave more workers.
Plague!
On the tip of the Peninsula many races seem to be suffering from a
high infant mortality rate and illness is rampant in some populations.
One survivor was supposedly seen who looked utterly hideous and malformed.
Thats saying a lot for a Goblin Whelp.
Elves weave their magic
For anyone entering the lands of Cormanthor it seems confusion
and getting lost is the best thing that can result. Those who have
traveled to any degree amongst them have been peaceful merchants.
Orcs frequently show up on the borders edge with limbs torn asunder by
some great force. Seems like an arrow is almost merciful compared
to this.
Central Geographic Region:
Dwarven War Machine
A force of about 15000 Dwarven Warriors was spotted from Tear Drop
Lake heading north, their final destination unknown.
Fried Green Tomatoes
A delicacy produced by the Wee Folk in Parit seems to have taken hold
and now many merchant seek out the unusual taste of the small green tomatoe.
Demand for River Boats skyrockets
The Lizardmen it seems could potentially be busy for a generation attempting
to keep up with the demand for their unique skills in crossing between
the deep lakes and the shallow rivers.
Slavery spreads
Amazingly the Human Kingdom near Tutulsa converts to a system using
slaves in part to drive their economy. Perhaps the reasoning was
to enter the profitable slave trade with the Nu'jree nearby. Regardless
it was not popular at first and almost resulted in mass revolts throughout
the nation.
Eastern Geographic Region:
Return of Elven Influence
It would seem that two elven nations have taken root where one of ancient
origin used to hold sway. Regardless they have established themselves
from the Coast of Thoos all the way to the Gora Sea.
Gunter Hassenfeffer journal entry
" . . last one sent all over hell and back. I survived my passage
into Scarimn lands heavily occupied by fierce 7 foot tall Lizard Folk.
Luckily they did not care to be slaves and cared even less for Nu'jree
than they do my people. While on the shores of Gamut Lake I did catch
a huge fish of some sort, eaten raw none the less by my guide. I
happen to have some sausage from home and that had to do for the day .
. . "
Demehlios ton Aroudha kai Komes ton Airylos
To some who knew him this was not a surprise as he was appointed in
a position of some worth in the lands of Daerah.
Orcish Riots
To no ones surprise after having successfully enslaved many peoples
an uprising did occur which the troops brutally put down. "If no
work, provide sport" was the saying overheard as one Orc took entertainment
in his duty to stop the unrest.
Western Geographic Region:
Armada spotted again
Marb, a simple hillmen of Matadi insists on having seen about two hands
worth of long, sleek, and delicate looking warships. Come to think
of it he elaborated using words not often spoken by his people. They
were also majestic and mysterious. Immediately the man was made a
part of the chiefs council.
[burp] This ones on me m'lads
A land battle of some proportions was seen by Dwarven Scouts. They
all had an extra round of Potatoe Vodka after telling of the apparent defeat
of the Orcs at the hands of a large army of Lizardman defenders.
Definately Tall Tale
The King of Byllikh sponsored an expedition into the Desert of Despair.
When not a man returned or even a horse for that matter he considered that
rumors were after all just that. Even as he said that his thoughts
were of a large contingent carrying more water into the rising dunes.
Come to Lupento
Visiting merchants to the small port town along the Shoal of Mer comment
frequently on the simple magnificence and cleanliness of the place.
Southern Geographic Region:
Fish and Chips
Wee Folk in the Royal Shires of Paske grow increasingly creative in
their efforts for recreation and leisure time. Now with at least
one fishing fleet they have created a market which a few local Innkeepers
took advantage of. It seems around mid afternoon work stops and the
fad is to go to your nearest Fish and Chip hang out where you and your
pals can take a good half hour of leisure time and eating before work begins
again and supper rolls around.
Almost magical . . isn't it.
Those that have recently dared travel to Azuriasza, the capital of
the Nu'jree people near The Barren Wastelands report stunning architecture
there. It seems spires and round domes adorn the city. The
odd qualities especially appear around a large fortification near a grand
plaza the natives call The Quiria Way. Sunlight and reflections play
on the various stone used in construction to an eye dazzling degree.
But Papa, look at the big Frog I caught!
An excited halfling boy of some 5 years ran to his father who was fishing
along the banks of the Uldz River. Understanding what the child was
yelling at the top of his lungs didnt really take effect until the man
nearly fell over when a 7 1/2 foot tall Lizardman followed up behind the
boy. It was a good thing they wanted to trade because his mood was
sour after not catching many fish.
One mans death is another mans mount.
The Nu'jree near the Zeno Deep are especially fearful of a prehistoric
inhabitant of the great swamps. The roughly 10 foot long animals
can really cause some carnage and damage. Yet for all that danger
and death it appears the Yarmek Tribes almost worship the beasts at times
supposedly saying that a truly brave warrior can ride them for short periods
of time.
