Lords 51: Siri, The Age of Awakenings
Year 391 (D.R.) Daeran Reckoning

Turn 11 Completed on or before March 19th, 2009
Turn 12 due date not specified. A huge amount of changes have taken place in the campaign. I'd like to ensure all the positions are filled with players either past ore present, all xStats and map gone over by the players too. Once this step is done I will issue a definate due date, I'd like it to be April 3, 2009

Main website for Siri at http://lords.throneworld.com/lote51/
LOTE Homepage for all the campaigns.

51 Conforming with xStats, LOTE
When 51 was undertaken a good many things were modified that can only be done by a new database program, software or ultimately by hand processing. Initially I did not think this that big of a deal however in the interest of actually having the campaign run I feel it is not fair to the player base to continue in that fashion. So, after a lot of investigation and planning I've converted the entire database over to xStats. xStats is the GM software that keeps track of your nation, trade routes, megolithic projects, etc.

Who cares you say?

Well, that also means there are areas that need to be brought back into what is more normally within the Lords of the Earth ruleset. There are too many to actually list here so I will take any questions you may have on this, on the Yahoo Group, or via Phone, whatever. Know that my objecvtive is to process turns and keep the heart of the game intact.

Having been granted permission to write up a rulebook I took the 5.5 Rules and have been taking out bits and pieces, putting others in and generally taking a good year or so to create an entire Lords 51 Wiki / Rulebook. I had a lot of help and will still need some from Martin Helsdon. Many thanks also to our original game creator Thomas Harlan for humoring me. Here you will find not only how far off the cliff I've jumped, but a resource to look up any rule dealing with 51. Know that as this span of 5 turns of processing goes I'll be updating this frequently and my objective at the end of that time period is to create a Base V1.0 Rulebook PDF for people to actually use for 51 to print out, have on their computer, etc.

The next Five turns

As your GM my entire goal has been to eliminate confusion on my part and a lot of fluff which is hard for me I'll admit.
I want to produce the next 5 turns seeing how long it takes to complete. At that point I will feel more comfortable with something of a time table. 6 turns a year, 10, who knows.

Unit Builds
In each racial chart is a list of places which units can be constructed. This will be enforced more rigidly as certain units require more organized services like those offered in Towns, Cities, or Fortresses. Here are the abbreviations. New specialized units based on QR's will be given build requirements as well.

HM - Unit can be built in the Homeland of the Nation, regardless of whether there is a city or not
FC - Unit can be built in a Friendly city within the Homeland Build Zone of the nation
FV - Unit can be built in a Friendly Village, Town, or City within the HBZ of the nation.
FT - Unit can be built in a Friendly Town or City within the HBZ of the nation.
F - Unit can be built in a Fortress
CR - Unit may be built in a controlled region
PV - Can be constructed in a Port Village or larger
PT - Can be built in a Port Town or larger
PC - Can be built in a Port City

Trade Routes If a trade route section goes through your lands you need to put in your orders who will be allowed to trade along those routes. Such as Orcs passing through Elven lands to trade with others, etc.

The Rumor Mill for Turn 11

Fehean:
Cold northern lands dominated by huge mountains and Volcanic Eruptions from time to time. A great many Orcs and Goblins make their presence felt throughout the area. Due to the harshness of the climate a degree of shadow lies upon the land which few willingly choose to penetrate.

Northern Huahn:
Blasted lands from a mixture of fire and ice. Only the hardy call this place home. A great treasure lies here too however, the Broken Shoals. A dangerous jagged sea zone which lava frequently blocks or creates entirely new passages.

Iolagus:
As weather swirls about the landscape precipitation falls most heavily upon the ground. The resulting rivers and watercourses flow mightily down to the Sea. Here dwells the mightiest known Lizardman tribes of the world.

Western Huahn:
A sparsely populated land which yields up rich veins of minerals to the various inhabitants. Large coastal bodies of water provide a livelihood for many, yet the deeper waters are perilous having few who ever return except those washed ashore in wreckage.

Southern Huahn:
Warm, dry air has created the largest desert known to exist. It sometimes retreats and other years grows with the various winds and rain fall. A wide mixture of folk live here creating tension and at times conflict.

Muethar:
A fairly flat land, Muethar has untamed Forests and vast grasslands. Many small groups of every imaginable folk are banded together. Some fierce horsemen, others hardy fishermen, and still others heard of only in late night bards tales.

Western Culaihr:
Huge ancient groves of trees dominate a fair portion of the frontier. Foothills riding up to plentiful coastal waters provide quite a mixture of inhabitants. Desolation and death to those who travel inland. Bones of gigantic creatures and miles of empty wilderness are all that seemingly remain.

Southern Culaihr:
Great and perilous are the seas here. Waterspouts are common and those who ply the waters for a living remain close to shore. Gigantic timbers of white sometimes was ashore and are prized by ship builders.

Notes on "My Lords"
For those who have participated in the past I've put a hold on the server use. I shall instead be emailing out newfax, map, and stat sheets individually. Perhaps I shall use the server again as it sits here in my home now, but that is not necessary for the campaign to run and can be yet another distraction at times.

Dedication - To my Grandfather Norman who somehow survived the conflict of WWII when many of his fellow soldiers and friends did not. Having heard of these stores the older I get the more they mean as history comes to life. His military academy sent the Seniors ahead when called upon and all of them were killed on D-Day. Having been a Junior my grandfather had further extended training where Robert E Lee III was in his officer class amongst others. He too was killed in one of the first attacks on foreign soil.

My grandfather was in the hospital when my oldest daughter was like 3-4 years old. We visited a few times and something funny happened that I will never forget. She would say, "are we going to go visit the Giant today Dad?", and as kids are it is from their perspective how it is. After all he was 6'5 and the size of most NFL linebackers with one of the more unusual commanding voices you ever heard in life. To her he was a Giant and in hindsite he will always be mine as well.
