CLARIFICATIONS

The following insert if from my wife. It details some of the problems that I’ve had with some players.

Hello LOTE players,

This is the GM's wife.  I know this may suprise you, but the recent long turn around for LOTE is really your own fault.  I have been listening to my husband rant and rave and  watching him pull his hair out trying to figure out what to do with some of your turns.

           1. You must be clear in you instructions to the GM.  Some of you may have experienced minor problems (or  disasters) from ambigous instructions.  The GM must respond the same way a computer would, and then makes guesses and any necessary checks he has to.

           2. You may have one Heir at any given time.  Do not attempt to make someone an Heir if you already have one!!!

If you're not sure if you have an Heir, it should be on your turn sheet. If you're still not sure, ask the GM.  As a footnote, yes, you can change your Heir, but realize that this will often involve a loyalty check, and if the check fails, you could easily have a revolution on your hands.  (Remember Poland?)(GM: & this turn Aleppo)

           3. Bored leaders are dangerous. Bored leaders tend to decide that they can get the job done better, faster, and with less bloodshed.  Don't allow your leaders to sit around for more than a turn, they should always be busy people.

           4. When in doubt, ask the GM. He'd much rather answer the question now, than try to figure your turn out later. Incidently, you can download old copies of the rules, and then make any changes.

If you still have problems with your turn, ask what happened. I understand that some of you use a different format when you send in your turn, and that can also cause problems.  Some of the formats have to be "cleaned up" before processing can begin. That takes time. I want my husband back. The more time processing takes, the less I see my husband, the more I want to throw out the computer.

Please meet him halfway, huh guys?

F Y I :

As mentioned by my wife, I can only accept certain formats, within certain file types: PDF, text or microsoft works (not word or doc files). Any other file that I cannot open, will be deleted, and the player will have no additonal time to get in a turn.

The next turn is due  31 July, 2001.
