In Britain, the last of Powys's possessions fell to the Britannians.
There was a stir of suprise when several dozen heavy warships from the Eastern Orthodox order of St George arrived of the coast of Laigin. They departed shortly there after. It was unkown what cargo exactly they took on, some speculated gold, other rumors said a important person was sent with the religious men.
Queen Rhiannon gave birth to a son in 578AD.

Britannia again prepared for war. Large numbers of new ships were built and mercenary ships hired to boot. The fleet then set sail and patrolled the North sea looking for any enemy fleets, none were encountered.
In Britain, Prince Owen took over the Britannian army after Prince Magunnus, the magnificent, died at the ripe old age of 85. Owen then marched into Gwynned and smashed the levy, the region agreed to pay tribute. He then took his army east, he smashed the new Anglian state, casualties were heavy on both sides as Anglia had been the site of large fortification construction before the Danish Civil war started (see:Denmark) The city of Ipswhich was sacked. The prince looked for any Celtic churches to loot, but found none.
In Salisbury a Powysian lord, Owain, was thrown at King Tristan's feet. "You dare come here and try and forment rebellion? You are a dog, a spy, you shall suffer the fate of a common criminal. HANG HIM"

In early spring 576AD, King Ragnar dies suddenly. Immediately trouble began. In Germania the Pagan Saxons revolted (yet again) Holstein and several of the near by regions quickly joined the revolts.
In Anglia, Prince Faramod declared himself king of the Angles and married a angle nobles daughter. His revolt didnt last long though because the Britannian invasion destroyed his new realm, Faramod himseld died in the fighting.
Lord Olaf, unhappy over the Kings policy (and continued defeats to the Britains ) revolts and takes the remaining Danish navy into exile.
In Saxony a Pagan relative of the Danish royal house rises to become King, Athelstan.
Lord Germund was caught in Germania and killed during the revolts. In the end huge areas of Denmark remain in revolt.

throughout the Empire. The Temukin Khanate's barbarian horsemen become feoderotti. Like
the ancestors of the Empire, when man power was needed there are always barbarians to fill
the ranks.

The Teutons had reacted in characteristic fashion to the onslaught of the comet. Religious fervor was whipped to an all time high. The Teutons had converted the four years of deprivation into an extended form of the Lenten observance. It was capped off by a major religious celebration.
As the skies clear, the Teutons get to work to pick up from the mess of the impact. The area is quickly resettled. Preparations are made for a wave of pilgrims to the holy site. Messages are sent throughout the world as the Teutons prepare to shift to a tourist economy. Much of the damage is cleaned up. Improvements are made to Dvinisk to handle the extra influx. Another city is built on the Baltic to promote access by northern waters.

The Queen mother, Svetlana, travelled to Smolenks where she married the Lord of that land. He became Prince Smolensk. A deal was also struck with the Eastern Empire to share the lands in Kiev.
In 579AD young Dameric assumed the full mantle of Kingship. His mother,
who was acting as regent, loyally stepped down and out of the piture.
NORTH AFRICA

The Harar Jihad
576AD: The call of the Imam for crusaders had not gone unheard, in Harar Ali al Mohammed gathered his host together. As they set out a few thousand zealots joined the column. As they approached the Ethiopian border scouts were sent ahead. The Ethiopians agreed to let the crusaders pass unhindered. The Ethiopian army, 10,000 heavy elite infantry, of Prince Luke shadowed the Islamic crusaders. They let them pass in peace but kept watch to insure they didnt harm any Ethiopian lands or possesions, they didn't. The long march north lasted all summer and into the fall. They marched up the west side of the nile. In early november they cross into Egyptian lands, Faiyum. Waiting was the combined armies of the Egyptian Prince Ramsis and the Theban Legion.
In the Muslim camp Ali al Mohammed received word from his scouts "It is as you feared my Khan, the Ethiopians have crossed into Egyptian lands and seek to take us from the rear as the Egyptians and Theban Legion engage us from the front." Ali al Mohammed smiled. "we shall strike them before they can meet up with Egyptians" In a bold night march the Islamic forces double back and move to engage the Ethiopians, as the sun begins to rise 31,000 Islamic warriors strike the Ethiopian camp. The forces of the Ethiopians are thrown into disarray. The slaughter is heavy amongst the all Infantry army of the Ethiopians. The wild nomadic cavalry of the muslims darts in and out hacking and slashing the disorganized Ethiopians. Prince Luke rallies what men he can and forms a ring in the heart of the Ethiopian camp. As the sun moves across the sky, reports come into the Islamic ranks, the Egyptian/Theban forces are approaching from the north. Ali leaves a holding force to face the very battered Ethiopians. The main force then moves to meet the Egyptian coalition forces. The Islamic warriors charge hard straight into the Coaliton ranks. Viscious fighting takes place. Both sides have large numbers of elite troops. Blood soaks the valleys floor as thousands perish. In late afternoon the Muslims feign withdrawel, the fanatic forces of the Theban legion pursue, hoping to inflict more losses on the muslims. Ali al Mohammed wheels his force about and strikes the now disorganized troops of the Theban order. They take very heavy casualties. Grandmaster Victor is unhorsed and wounded in his side. Only the aid of the Egyptians saved the knights. The battle raged the rest of the afternoon. The Coptic forces getting the worst of it. But as they outnumbered the Muslims two to one, they were able to hold out. Eventually the outnumbered muslims were wore out, exhausted they withdrew in good order. In the Coptic camp they gave thanks to God, especially the Ethiopians who were very bloodied. The Coptic forces lost a combined 33,500 men, the Islamic Jihad lost 16,000.
Ali al Mohammed took his forces back south,
only his national army remained, the zealots had all perished int the fighting. The
Ethiopians were to battered and bloodied to stop them from marching back through Ethiopian
lands to Harar.

King Tiberius realized the years of peace were at an end, he took a force of 40,000 cavalry and marched east into Petra to aid his Zoroastrian allies should it be needed. It wasnt, the forces of Islam never came that way. Prince Ramsis meanwhile took 47,000 men and went sout SEE: Harar Jihad
While the King was away, the Queen passed away in late 576AD.
A diplomatic mission was also sent to far off Ilyria. An
interesting move into the Balkans. When King Tiberius returned to Egypt he mourned his
wife, he then retires to a monastary. His crown passes to Ramsis.

Athanius returned to Egypt from his missionary work in central africa. Once back he took control of the troops the church had raised. The threat of war with Islam proved real, and so this precaution was needed.

Kanem planned to aide their Croat allies, at the same time Kail had come to decide that his people must convert to Christianity. So the Chieftain of Nupe was ordered to go west and invade Jenne, and at the same time take some argo to the Croats. That all fell through when he died in mid 576AD.
Kail took that as sign it was time to convert, he did so and ordered his
people to do so as well. Amazingly no revolts and only minor grumbling takes place.

As the Croat tribes spread out and colonized Ghana and the city of Kumbi-Saleh, a new campaign was planned. The Croat army, led by King Ramidalv, marched north west and pacified Khalem, then Senegal. On the way back Khakem was enslaved, the army then marched into the region of Segu and enslaved it as well, Croat colonist were then settled in the region.
While the army was away a census was taken. The King married when he returned from war.
MIDDLE EAST

Islamic Jihad
576AD: The Zoroastrian forces were on the move. In the western lands the zoroastrian church's forces moved into Egyptian lands at that nations request and prepared to react to any Islamic threats. The Farohars went to Tyre, there they boarded Imperial vessels and headed south, down the nile, through Aetius's canal and into the seas of the Arabian pennisula. The Sassanid Emperor remained vigilant in Ctesiphon. In the east a large force of Khazars travel into sassanid lands and prepare to react.
In Aden the Emir drafts every able bodied male he can find, these forces stand ready to react to any Islamic threats. In Oman the Emir their also drafts all available men, he however leads them in a campaign to pacify the rebellious Islamic lands.
The year ends without an Islamic attack, nothing but deafening silence from Mecca.
577AD: The year begins with Persian and Farohar forces landing in Yemen, they wait but no battle comes as they follow the lead of the Emir and continue a react policy.
In Oman the pacification of rebels is continued and is accomplished with the aid of forces of Parthia that arrived by sea.
Out of the Desert came the forces of Islam, the Imam himself lead a cavalry force into Persia. The hard riding force raided northwest, the Imperial army reacted out of Ctesiphon. The Imam's force outmanuevered the Imperials and continued to lead them away from Ctesiphon, but his luck ran out in June. A force under the command of the Zoroastrian primate coming from the east was able to catch the Imam's force. The Imam was not a very good strategist at all and his force was caught as it tried to evade and escape, forced to fight it was annihilated by the more numerous, and better armored, Zoroastrian force. The Imam was slain, his head was piked and sent to Ctesiphon.
While the Imam lead the Sassanid forces in a manuever to the west, the main Islamic army burst out of the desert 2 months later and raided into Chaldea, they pacified the region and began to loot it. They had planned to take advantage of the Persian armies being drawn away and to wreck great havoc amongst the eastern Persian regions. How were they to know the Persian Khazar allies had over 50,000 mounted warriors waiting for such a invading Islamic force. The Khazars catch the Islamic invaders by suprise and whelm them, the entire Islamic army is whiped out with only modest losses to the Khazars.
578-580AD: the Zoroastrian forces stay alert but no more attacks come from the followers of Allah.
