THE KINGDOM OF KOREA

Akchong, Great Warrior of the Koguryo

DIPLOMACY: none

Mokchong finally passed away in 1026.  His son, Akchong, proved to be a more levelheaded man than his father.  This comes as a great relief to the overworked Korean military.

MICHIGANA JAPAN

Fujiwara Tanaka, Nairan of all Japan.

DIPLOMACY: Hokkaido (ne)

Ishida presided over the joyous occasion of the marriage of his eldest daughter Keiko and his trusted lieutenant Okawa.  The two had fallen in love as soon as they met each other at an official function, and Ishida was more than happy to give his daughter to the proud young man.

Following the ceremony and the festivities, Ishida told Tanaka to stay by him at all times.  He wanted Tanaka to learn the proper way of ruling, should Ishida die.  He was very far-sighted, as Ishida fell ill in late 1028.  When he died, Tanaka was well prepared for the responsibilities of the Nairan.

After the ceremony, Okawa was put back to work.  Now that he was a member of the royal family, he diligently studied the winds and the seas south of the Inland Sea.  During the summer of '27, he sailed south, and landed on the island of Okinawa.

THE LIAO EMPIRE

Sheng-Tsung, Emperor of the Khitan.

DIPLOMACY: none

Sheng-Tsung fathered identical twin sons in 1026.  After news like that, how can one be expected to get anything done?

THE KINGDOM OF HSI-HSIA

Li Te-ming, King of the Tanguts

DIPLOMACY: none

Control was given up in Bulingir and Gurvan, as their inhospitable climes and distance from Wu Hai made them impossible to control.

SUNG CHINA

T'ai-Tsung, Emperor of the Middle Kingdom

DIPLOMACY: none

It was a quiet period for the Sung dynasty, as T'ai-Tsung focused his energies on his family.  He had two more children, one of either gender, bringing his total offspring total to ten.  Cheng-Tsung got into the procreation business as well, as a daughter and a son were born to him.  It's understandable that T'ai set aside a few gold from the taxes to build a nursery add-on to his castle.

The 6 ships patrolling the Ise Wan returned to port, minus one leader.  The crew reported that Lord Ying Yang walked too close to the side of his ship during a squall.  A nasty wave hit the ship, and rocked Ying off his feet, and into the drink.  At least, that's what they reported.

And, amidst all of this, the city of Peiking received another expansion.

THE KINGDOM OF NANCHAO

Byung-ho

DIPLOMACY: Korat (A)

Tet turned his attention to the region of Korat.  With their agreement in a feudal alliance, Byung-ho's plan of a completely unified kingdom is soon to happen.

THE KINGDOM OF ANNAM

Minh Tranh

DIPLOMACY: none

Gold continued to come into the nation from the Sung.  This gold went into the economy of the country, and freed them from their dependency on crops as their sole item of economic worth.  Content with the sweeping changes made, Minh Tranh kept an eye on his southern border.

THE KINGDOM OF CHAMPA

Lanh-Quang

DIPLOMACY: none

Ching-Quang passed away in 1030, one month after the birth of his first grandson.  Lanh-Quang took the throne with absolutely no dissent among the ranks.

THE KHEMER EMPIRE

Jayaviravaman, Emperor of the Khemers

DIPLOMACY: Lampang (F)

The Emperor and Prince Sithe move into Lampang.  Between the two diplomats and a royal marriage between the nobles of Lampang and Sithe, the entire region became the sole property of the Khemer.  For his efforts in the mission, Jayaviravaman elevated Sith to the position of Heir.

A new road was lain between Khemer and Siam.

THE KINGDOM OF BURMA

Jayavarman II, Emperor of Burma

DIPLOMACY: none

Jayavarman was officially crowned emperor in the summer of 1029.  Murin returned to his mundane lieutenancy, and all were happy.

THE EMPIRE OF SRIVIJAYA

Airlagga, Emperor of Srivijaya

DIPLOMACY: Polonaruwa in Sri Lanka (F)

Airlagga saw potential in many of his port cities.  Both Srivaan and Ahmava increased in size thanks to governmental spending.

Another port city, Polonaruwa, was the forces of Suli.  Thanks to a dynastic marriage with Airlagga (a marriage which produced a baby daughter in 1030), the city fell under the total control of the Japans.

THE KINGDOM OF THE SPICE ISLANDS

Raging Storm

DIPLOMACY: none

The new city of Midja in Palau received many improvements.  Given its out of the way location, it became the home of many scientists and scholars looking for a quiet remote area to do their research.

Raging Storm and his royal court remained near the Moluccas, sailing their ships around the islands.

India and Central Asia

Mercenary Pool: 4i, 3c, 2s, 2w, 2t

THE CHOLAN EMPIRE

Rajandra I, King of Kings.

DIPLOMACY: none

8,000 soldiers were conscripted for Rajandra's Army.  Not that he knew what to do with them, but he felt better with them around.

THE KINGDOM OF DAHALA

Gobind

DIPLOMACY: none

Gobind spent some quality time with the wife.  As a result, the royal nursery expanded to include a female in '26 and a son in '29.

Nalin spent the better part of two years weeding out the infirm, the weak, and the spineless from the national army.  The army was reduced from its previous total of 15,000 strong to about half that, but their fighting ability had increased tenfold.  At least, that was Nalin's report to the king.

THE KINGDOM OF ANHIVARTA & GUJERAT

Svarg

DIPLOMACY: none

The unification of the two kingdoms proved to be an excellent financial move, as the resulting economy was greater than the sum of its parts.  Svarg spent this bounty wisely.

THE KINGDOM OF PALAS

Thangamuthu

DIPLOMACY: none

Ahdiyamaan died in his sleep come 1027.  Thangamuthu was crowned the new king, and immediately spent the national reserve of saved resources on various improvements.  As a whole, the people favored this action.

THE RAJPUTATE OF MAGHADA

Rajul

DIPLOMACY: Kalindra (EA)

Rajul dispatched his newest charge, Aladra, to discuss alliances with the Kalindrese.

THE RAJPUTATE OF BENARES

Kahali, Rajput of Rajput

DIPLOMACY: none

Kahali fed more money into the ever-burgeoning economy of the Rajputate.  He also hired 2,000 more horsemen.

THE RAJPUTATE OF UTTAR PRADESH

Prutar

DIPLOMACY: none

Kamesh retired in 1027.  He was worn out, and simply desired rest.  His son became the new King, and he happily spent his last few days away from the havoc and pressures of being the Raj, and happier for it.

THE RAJPUTATE OF TARAIN

Chunjot, Raj of Tarain

DIPLOMACY: none

Chunjot became king of the maligned Rajput in 1027.  Watching their countrymen become slaves in Tarain was almost too much to bear for the young king.

THE KINGDOM OF TIBET

Takla

DIPLOMACY: Bhutan (F)

A slight epidemic claimed the lives of Takla's young son, and General Pagmo.  The latter did live long enough to see the Bhutanese into the kingdom.

THE KINGDOM OF KASHMIR

Balaguru

DIPLOMACY: none

Balaguru began a road-building project over the mountains between Kashmir and Kush.  When the slave labor ran out not nearly halfway through the project, it was obvious that somebody miscalculated the amount of labor needed.  No problem, as Balaguru saw that the inhabitants of Kuldja weren't doing anything productive.  In came the military, out came the slaves.  Really easy.

Abinatha escorted Bhuvanagir, daughter of Maruthi, into the lands of the Ghaznavids for a royal wedding between the two kingdoms.

JUNGARIA

Atadara

DIPLOMACY: Suachu (A)

Once Atadara got a taste of the outside world, he became inebriated with hope.  Today Suachu, tomorrow the world!

THE SELJUK HORDE

Kemal

DIPLOMACY: Incorrect.  Anybody else?

Kemal had much reason to celebrate.  While taking it easy in Lahore, another daughter was born to him.  His son Mesut, after spending many years learning how to be a cruel and vicious nomad, gained the honor of riding alongside his father in battle.

Another reason for celebration was taking place in Tarain.  Koprulu enslaved the entire population of Tarain and Delhi, and forced them to work improving what was once their homeland.  While the slaves were doing their thing, Koprulu, told some of the wanderers following the leader to settle down.  They had found their new home.

THE GHAZNAVID EMPIRE

Zauindeh, The Right Hand of Government, Scourge of India.

DIPLOMACY: Hamadan in Medea (EA)

Mahmud died of old age in 1026.  Murcheh, busy in Hamadan acquiring an economic alliance, rushed to his father's side at his time of passing.  After the grieving period was completed, he took a wife from the Kashmiri.  He and Princess Bhuvanagiri were wed.  This marriage, explained Murcheh represented the tie between Kashmir and Ghazni.  Economic, Agricultural, and Military support would be shared, for the benefit of the two countries.  With the marriage, things returned to normal.

Unfortunately, the normalcy would not last.  When Murcheh was found dead in his sleeping chambers in 1030, panic struck.  Murcheh's only child was a two-year old daughter, unfit for becoming a ruler.  Zaindeh, the junior lieutenant who happened to be second in command of the Ghazni Reactionary Force at the time, was rushed into becoming the new leader, a role that he most vociferously did not want.  However, he realized that it was better than the alternative - no country at all.

Yezd was busy in Azerbaijan.  With the Georgian slaves building the roads between Bijistan and Heart, and Kash and Hzarajat, the supply of manual labor was wearing thin.  The Azerbaijani were a strong people.  They put up minimal support in battle, and Yezd returned with enough laborers for several more roads.

THE BUHWAYID SULTANATE

al-Basasiri, Amir al-Umara, Shahanshah.

DIPLOMACY: Bostra (NT), As'Summan (FA), Dharan (FA)

al-Basasiri went on a tear of desert diplomacy, figuring that any desert nomads who are allied with him won't hurt him.  To combat against the inhabitant's harsh look upon newcomers, the sultan's sons al-Adin and Rukh and daughter Sapphire were married to the children of influential leaders within the tribes.  With the additional leverage the blood ties gave him, accords of non-aggression were quickly reached.

THE SULTANATE OF SHEBA

Shu'bah

DIPLOMACY: Hadramurt (EA)

Khaled died in 1027.  Shu'bah quickly became the new sultan.

Qutaybah continued to plug away in Hadramurt, slowly winning the confidences of the noblemen of the region.

THE FATAMID CALIPHATE OF EGYPT

Al-Hakim, Caliph of Egypt

DIPLOMACY: Levant (ne), Jerusalem in Levant (EA)

al-Hakim took care of old business.  Loans to the Jewish bankers and the Byzantines were cleared.  And, after a long wait, the Library of Alexandria was reopened.

Lord Muyfay was the official delegate of the Caliph present at the ceremony.  After attending to the official details, Muyfay delved into the copious amounts of books and notes, searching for anything that the Caliph might find useful.

TUNISIAN CALIPHATE OF EGYPT

al-Alas, Caliph of Tunis, Sahib of Egypt

DIPLOMACY: none

al-Waso was dispatched to the region of Levant and its city of Jerusalem.  There he diplomacized in the name of the Fatamids.  While the nobles of Levant were happy with their current level of fealty, the lords of Jerusalem were happy to increase theirs.

THE COPTIC KINGDOM OF ZAGWE

Lalabela Kolka Haimanot, Founder of the Zagwe Dynasty.

DIPLOMACY: Axum (A)

Lalabela's continuing attempts to fully incorporate Axum into the Kingdom took a giant step forward, as Akara and the Axumites came to a historic diplomatic agreement.  What made it historic was that it would be Akara's last, as his troupe came upon some bloodthirsty highwaymen on the way home.

THE EMIRATE OF ZANZIBAR

Raschid, Emir of Mombassa

DIPLOMACY: Shona (not likely)

Sayid and the Gorongan Lord were sent into Shona to talk with the locals.  Still irked over the Zanzibari/Rozwi attacks to their fair region, they quickly ran the duo out of town.  Flanked by his 600 infantry, Gorongo made it home safely.  Sayid, on the other hand, was captured and executed.

The lord of Mombassa was ordered to strike fear into the hearts of those who dwelled in the African plains.  When he returned carrying bags of gold, the Emir realized how profitable fear could actually be.

Raschid did everything he could to help his neighbors become educated in the ways of Allah.

THE KINGDOM OF ROZWI

Luwesi, King of the Rozwi.

DIPLOMACY: Karanga (F)

Luwesi spent most of his time talking with Banana of Karanga.  Small concessions were made, and the Karangese gladly and fully entered into the kingdom.

At the celebration dinner, Luwesi made a stunning announcement.  After heated discussions with Emir Raschid, Luwesi had decided to embrace Allah, and convert to Sunni Islam.  Naturally, the rest of the country would follow suit.  Some people were skeptical, such as Attati, who fled the scene after hearing about Luwesi's plans.  But after discussions with the Mombassan sheiks that Luwesi had invited into the country, most people embraced the religion.  The western regions of Matopos and Zambia stood out as contrarians, as they chose to stay with the religions of their ancestors.

THE EMIRATE OF ZEILA

Qadma

DIPLOMACY: Ras Hafun (FA)

Qadma believed his small emirate could one day control the entire coast of Eastern Africa.  To this end, he sent Adel around the coast of Berbera and into the area of Ras Hafun.  The alliance signed there went a long way in securing future Zeilan rule there.

THE KINGDOM OF KANEM-BORNU

Kenyatta Mesewo, King of the Kanem and Bornu.

DIPLOMACY: none

Messelli was sent to pick up a cavalry garrison in the region of Daza. Having been an infantryman all his life, he was unfamiliar with the technicalities of a "horse".  He tried to mount from the left side.  Everybody cringed as he fell, and rushed around him as he lay motionless.  The state funeral was held in two weeks, and the horse was hung as a spy and a traitor.

King Kenyatta attended the funeral, and then rushed home, where his wife was giving birth to their new son.

THE KINGDOM OF GHANA

Mombega Esweyu, Emperor of Ghana.

DIPLOMACY: Galam (EA)

Mombega was able to find time to sire two daughters.  The Galamase were extremely lucky to find themselves being lectured to by Guruma.  Talks about national pride and economics weren't exactly crowd pleasers.  An economic alliance was the price of getting him to leave the region.

THE KINGDOM OF SONGHAI

Wulasa Isano, King of the Songhai.

DIPLOMACY: Dogamba (FA)

Wulasa needed to stand guard in Timbuktu and keep his country in line.  It was quickly getting larger than expected.  First, the expansion of Timbuktu continued to make it one of the largest cities in the world.  Also, the Dogambans agreed to join in with the burgeoning kingdom, increasing the workload on the tax collectors.

THE HAUSA STATES

Ohini Ceweho, True King of the Hausa.

DIPLOMACY: Kanuri (T)

Julawa crossed the border into the once-state of Kanuri.  Being an independent was harder than they had originally imagined, and were glad to see that the king was willing to take them back into statehood.  They quickly signed a tributarial alliance.

Yaroslav stayed in Kiev, and directed the expansion of that city.

The new heir Alexander exited the city in search of a princess.  He found one amidst the nobles of Kirivitch.  Their marriage help pave the way for better relations between the region and the throne.  His next step, Polotsk, happened to be where the newlywed couple had their first son.

Boras traveled through Chernigov and Smolensk, increasing support for Yaroslav.  Ivan took the trip to Polovotsy, and couldn't get anything out of the obstinate locals.

THE KINGDOM OF VOLGA BOLGAR

Kanal

DIPLOMACY: none

Kamal ordered that the fields of Bolgar be expanded. His hunger pangs were his driving force.

THE KINGDOM OF HUNGARY

Istvan I, King of Hungary.

DIPLOMACY: Bakony (EA), Pecs in Bakony (F)

Istvan sent his sons Vaclav and Bertrand into Bakony.  The latter visited the city, and the former concentrated on the rural areas.  Both returned to Pest with measurable results for their father.

THE KINGDOM OF POLAND

Mieskow, King of the Poles.

DIPLOMACY: Danzig (AW), Kauyavia (C), Bialoweza (F)

Young King Miewskow decided that his country just wasn't big enough. So, after spending 4 years getting his country into order, he took a trip north into Danzig.  He happened to enter the region in the middle of their spring pagan rituals.  Being the good Christian, Mieskow began to ridicule them.  After several volleys of spears, the king retreated to the safety of Poland.

The older and wiser Wladislaw and Otto were sent elsewhere.  Wladislaw could only get a minor pact of acceptance from the Kauyavians, while Otto completed the integration of Bialoweza.

KHANATE OF KHAZARIA

Kharal II, Khan of Khazar

DIPLOMACY: none

The Khazars sat and waited for something to happen.

THE PATRIARCHATE OF THE EASTERN ORTHODOX CHURCH

Boniface VI, Patriarch of Constantinople

DIPLOMACY: Thessaly (AB), Macedonia (MN), Rhodes (AB), Lydia (MN)

The Church was expanding very quickly, thanks to Boniface and his loyal bishops.  The missionaries he sent out to Patzinak finally reported as complete a conversion of the steppelanders as possible, paving the way for the Khazarians to open diplomatic ties with them again.  More gold and agro were sent to the Russians as a gesture of goodwill.

Acastus, Heleodorus, Atinious, and Pittacus all traveled the bounds of the Orthodoxy, and all were tasked with increasing those bounds.  All performed admirably.

THE BYZANTINE EMPIRE

Ioannes Maniakes, Emperor of the Roman Empire, the Bulgar-Slayer

DIPLOMACY: none

The young Ioannes remained in Constantinople with Symeon, ruled quietly, and determined their next move.

AL-ANDALUS: THE CALIPHATE OF CORDOBA

Al'Marwan bi-Allah, Victorious by the Grace of God, Vizier of the Caliph of Cordoba.

DIPLOMACY: Lisbon (F)

The Caliphate was suffering from a lack of qualified personnel in the capital, so Al'Marwan forced Istafan and Marid to remain in the capital with him, working on paperwork.  Tahir got to escape the monotony of castle work, and instead visited Lisbon.  The crew back at the capital began to file copies of the alliance paper late in 1030.

CHRISTIAN SPAIN

Carlos, King of Catalonia, Defender of the Faith.

DIPLOMACY: Navarre (EA)

Carlos official removed Juan from the throne in 1030.  Until such a time that it was decided that until Carlos becomes married and procures an heir, Juan would remain the heir to the Spanish Empire.

Pedro spent his time increasing the bounds of the Empire, agreeing to an economic alliance with the Navarrese.

SAXON ENGLAND

Aelfric, King of England.

DIPLOMACY: Dyffed (C), Gwynned (ne), Lancashire (ne), Mercia (ne), Strathclyde (H)

King Aelfric made a whistle stop journey around the western part of the island.  With the exception of Dyffed, he was not available long enough for the interested parties to fully agree on certain terms.

Cedric had the same problem with his quick trip into Mercia.  However, he was allotted plenty of time in Strathclyde.  Unfortunately the once-ruling class of the Kingdom of Scotland was still not prepared to join the Saxons.  Cedric still persisted, and for his effort he was run out of the area by the Scottish troops.

Aelfric's daughter Brianna was named as the successor to the English throne.

THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH

Victor II, Bishop of Rome.

DIPLOMACY: Ile De France (CA), Paris (CH)

With the heresy aside, Victor and Bruno were able to concentrate on fixing the inefficient tithing process.  Bruno and Gregory went into the heart of France, armed with enough clerics and missionaries to replace those who had sided with Benedict.  Bart went into Trondheim to preach the Word of God.  Nobody seemed to care.

THE JARLDOM OF SWEDEN

Anund Skotkonrung, Jarl of Sweden

DIPLOMACY: none

Olaf spent his time listening to the offers of the Danes.  While being very accommodating, he just couldn't sign away his sovereignty just yet.  If the rebelling hordes of Swedes who remember the good old days of plunder came closer to the castle gates, he might just reconsider.

THE KINGDOM OF FRANCE

Robert II, King of France

DIPLOMACY: Normandy (F), Tours in Anjou (F), Ponthieu (ne)

Robert re-entered Normandy, this time with his daughter in tow.  Now that the Norman ruling class was tied to the French in blood, a complete alliance was quickly signed.

Fulk tried hard to get Anjou to agree to a similar arrangement, but they were at first obstinate.  After seeing that the Duke of Anjou botched his diplomacy mission, however, they decided it would be best.

THE HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE

Otto III, Holy Roman Emperor.

DIPLOMACY: Munich in Bavaria (A), Lyonnais (F), Provence (ne)

The walls around Munich were torn down to make room for the expansion of the city.  Sebastian arrived in time to oversee this expansion and receive an increase of control in the city as a token of gratitude.  Afterwards, he went to Lyonnais and completed diplomatic negotiations with the nobles, procuring their complete friendship.

Ralf Rainer attempted to do the same in Provence, but the nobles enjoyed the small amount of sovereignty that they had at the moment.

THE DUCHY OF VENICE

Orseolo, Duke of Venice

DIPLOMACY: Verona (F), Illyria (F)

As a resounding show of Venetian power, Orseolo, Lieutenant Antonio, and the Earl of Illyria entered the region of Croatia.  With only the loss of 600 of Orseolo's finest, the region was quickly brought under the control of the Venetians.  After the battle, in recognition of his effective skills during the battle, Antonio received the land from Orseolo as his personal fief.

The Earl of Illyria returned to his land, and received a surprise present: the grand port city of Zabar was being constructed in his land.  Between this and the gentle prodding of Jordano, the Earl agreed to a complete alliance with the Venetians.

THE JARLDOM OF NORWAY

Olaf Tryggvason, Jarl of Norway

THE JARLDOM OF DENMARK

Harald Forkbeard, Jarl of Denmark

DIPLOMACY: none

Harald sent Sven and Cnute to woo the tumultuous Swedes.  The end result was not a feudal alliance, but an agreement was reached between the two parties to keep the lines of communications open.

In the meantime, Harald built the city of Copenhagen in Denmark, and oversaw the massive restructuring of his government, allowing his people to be ruled more efficiently.

The ANASAZI

Little Bear

DIPLOMACY: none

"Mountains are a great nuisance."  Great Bear mused to himself.  After the success of the path beat down between Taos and Gilla, he commissioned the building of a similar walkway 'twixt Chaco and Snaketown.  With a limited amount of technology available, workmen took to throwing themselves against the mountainsides in an attempt to level them.  Work still needed to be done before the mountain way was completed.

Great Bear ran the government until his death in the summer of 1028.  His son Little Bear took over the tribes, and pledged to work against the renowned inefficiency of his father's government.  He fired the slackers, and hired younger, more efficient replacements.  He judged that the taxes received from over the mountains to the north were negligible, and ordered the collectors assigned to those provinces to return home.

Running Salmon and Grey were given some time off as a reward for their faithful service.  Running Salmon spent the time redecorating his hut.  Grey left Chaco on a sightseeing tour, and was found floating facedown in the Colorado three years later.

THE CADDO

Winassi

DIPLOMACY: Chitimacha (A)

Winassi was going for the world's record, having not left his Atakapa for 17 years straight.  No, it was Hulessi's job to go out to Chitimacha, and convince the tribal leader to join with the sedentary Winassi.  Which he did splendidly, by the way.

THE MICHIGAMEA

Atonwa

DIPLOMACY: Chickasaw (F)

Ogima began the long road towards institutional recovery, as he procured the full cooperation of the tribes of Chicasaw.

THE APPALACHIANS

Minuwa

DIPLOMACY: Tunica (A)

Miniga once again was the gopher of the Appalachians, this time dispatched to Tunica to increase Minuwa's control over the northern province.  While an alliance was signed, another was being broken - Lord Chatot's death precipitated the region's opinion of the administration to sour.  They opted to increase their autonomy to that of a mere feudal alliance.

THE TOLTEC EMPIRE

Nezahualpili

DIPLOMACY: none

Chalchiutinetetzin and Texcoyo were dispatched to Totonac, and tried to get to know the area.  After a day of swimming, um, I mean official reconnaissance, in the Campeche, Prince Chalchi was attacked by a large fish, and drowned.

Xilotzin had two more children.  Both daughters, of course.  That brought the total number of Tolteca royal children to nine women and no men.  Nezahualpili was convinced that the fertility god was hatching a plan to have them switch to a matriarchy.

THE HUARI

Rimac

DIPLOMACY: none

Hualpa quickly saw the benefits that roads gave his tax collectors and scribes.  He opened the long-eschewed wealth surplus, and upgraded the roads he had built earlier, as well as commissioned a new road from the city of Huari to the Chavin coast.  Enough money was left over to construct a large village along the northern coast of Moche, named Chicama.  Finally, Hualpa made sure that the capital of Huari benefited from the expenditures as well.

The expansion of Huari was the last event attended to by the aging king.  He became violently ill over the cruel winter of 1027.  He lingered for over 15 months, but eventually passed on.

The lengthy illness gave Rimac and Hualpa's advisors time to become acclimated to each other.  When Hualpa finally succumbed to the illness, the new king smoothly took over the country.

DIPLOMACY: Guanacane (A), Leco (ne)

The road building project between the cities of Tiahuanaco and Quirm finally came to an end.  Anihualpa himself was there for the dedication ceremony on one of the most difficult tasks ever undertaken by his country.

But the winter of '27 reared its ugly head, as a severe cold stuck down Anihualpa.  The bed-ridden king lasted for a few months before dying.  His son Incun became the new leader, and took it upon himself to name his younger sister Shaniqua as an official Princess and Envoy.

While Xentlyl had no diplomatic success in Leco, his fellow lieutenant Ronko had quite the opposite effect in Guanacane.  The people there were quite taken with the diplomat, and agreed to a full alliance with Incun.
