The Khemer
Kingdom:
Diplomacy: Siam - T..
A truely horrific blow was delivered to Ieng Sary, the peaceful ruler of the Khemer people. His eldest daughter, "the jewel of the nation," her unoffical title was promised to the hand of a dashing young nobleman in Champa. Unfortunately, the royal carriage was not escorted as there was no reason to expect a casue for alarm and the carriage and all its accompanying retainers were slaughtered in the riot that breifly engulfed the region as the bride-to-be was travelling to her awaiting husband and the local ceremony. When the king learned of this, it was said that his tears would have filled the Mekong Sea.
Vowing to find and destroy the arch-fiend that would do such a demonic deed, Ieng Sary paced the palace floor awaiting to determine if any information was learned. Unfortunately, nothing was learned. When nothing new was learned, the king slipped into a gloomy state of mind.
Finding it dificult to focus on matters of the state while mourning, he left matters to his advisors while he set in his daughters garden staring blankly. All was not lost though as delegates were sent to Siam, who also heard of the misfortunate event and were moved by the open show of emotion and promised tribute to his court.
Champa: News Alert ...Rioting in the streets occurred in the region, posters and furniture were tossed onto ever increasing bonfires as people chanting, "Down with the oppresive regime in Angkor." However, after the opportunity to loot their neighbors passed, the mood swung back to a more even keel. Troops shortly afterwards and the people sheepishly remarked that they don't know what happened, but a band of people moved into the area and started the slogans and they were just swept up in the moment.
No one had seen the people before, and reported that they were last seen travelling northwards. The troops marched off to bring justice to the miscreants and vandals. Unfortunately no further evidence was discovered and Champa remained firmly an Ally to the Khemer Kingdom and her people.

Sanji Pantek, self-proclaimed Empirer, settled into into another not of restless sleep, receiving yet more visions.Sanji Panteksaw a gathering of the many pagan oceanic gods. They were witness to be arguing pettily over how events for the world will unfold, shouting and yelling at each other that none are being heard over their own shouting and arguing. Such is the fickle and unfatomable nature of the Gods. However, in his moment of despair, Sanji Pantek sees a glorious light emerge from the West . One by one, the gods cease their arguing and see that their object of their concern has turned away from them and is staring out to the light. The gods they all give pause, sensing that they should be panicking, but not yet grasping the reason. Out of the light materializes a giant figure clothed simply in white robes. As the figure walks over the waves closer to Sanji Pantek and kneels on one knee to talk to Sanji Pantek:
"You have no power without my commands because I am the one true God," the figure said in a voice that sounded only in Sanji Pantek ears. " In the beginning there was the word, and the word was with me, and the word was me. You are derived in my image, shaped as Adam when hee he fell from my paradise, but I give you power so that my creations could be witnessed and whorshipped. But you will have power no more if you don't realize your folly and come back to me, the One True God."
Sanji Pantek awoke with a the bitter-sweet feeling of a man realizing the errors of his ways just before disaster struck. as if I had been traveling down a path for many months only to realize that though the path seemed correct-many travelers had traveled it before me-it was not leading me to the intended destination. After some reflection, Sanji Pantek kept hearing the voice while he daydreamed , reliving the dream, recalling the warmth of the light, say..."its
David you schmuck, not Donald." It appears that even the one true god also had a limit to tolerance.
Many ships set sail for wild lands and much raiding was done, bringing back much gold and many slaves. Unfortuntaley, one ship ran a gound on some uncharted coral reefs and sank with all hands.
The Mauryan Empire
Diplomacy:
None
Empirer Chandragupta Maurya was in a somber but insightful mood. Rather than sending his leaders about here and there, Chandragupta Maurya degreed that for the time being, all will stay home and work on their studies, editing material stockpiled for the library not yet built. And while the people were happy with the roads and arigation works that the Chandragupta Maurya sponsored, they also rumbled at having live in tents.
The Middle East:
Diplomacy: Khwarzim - NT
Inspired, evidently, by his neighbor and his neighbor's neighbor, King Kara Chethosk directed many public works to be completed. As recent ministers had a tendency to have abbreviated life spans, the present minister correctly understood that "many" meant "get it done and don't bother me, I'm busy." Reporting back
after an exhaustive 5 year plan, this savy minister had extended the national agricultrual out put by thirty percent. Pleased, with this information, Kara Chethosk was proud to announce that he too wasted little time and brought a tired queen and a brand new baby boy to a feast celebrating the new year.
Tegu, under the guidance of Kara Chethosk travelled to Khwarzim, discussed matters of importance, or at least what would be important if his words fell on deaf ears again and was glad to report back that a more reasonable arrangement had been reached.
The Babylon Empire
Diplomacy:
None.
Deciding for now, that his eyes should turn inward, Shesh Bazzar, the Mighty Monarch of the Babylon people, ordered an impressive build up of resoviours aqueducts that brought much needed water from the Tigris and Euphrates rivers. His minister of the Interior reported that there was still plenty of room to accomodate even more farms, when he dictated that they would be needed.
Unfortunately, for the people of Palmyra, Shesh Bazzar's generosity didn't extend to thier freedom. Ordering a concerted effort from his underlings, three different forces moved in and made a sweep of both slaves and gold, much to the dismay and pleas from seperated wifes and children from the men of the lands.
Not losing any sleep, well from his orders at least, the people learned that the queen was large with child at a lunar celebration and shortly gave birth at an important date that coincided with a mythical figure in Persian history. Scholars flocked to Babylon to heap praise upon the new born child, predicting that many great things were to be accomplished by the newest son of Shesh Bazzar.
The Hellespont Empire
Diplomacy: Macedon - NT, Phrygia - NT.
Turning to matters of internal rathern than Imperial concern, the wonderous philoshper king, Gallipollianus, directed his minsters to continue to scour the country side for lost, forgotten text. Gallipollianus set his scribes to the task of copying the works of the Philosphers from the Golden Age of Antiquity, where Greek Philosphpers left their knowledge for future generations to use. To house the increasing volumes of recovered works, Gallipollianus continued to invest heavily in the University of Thrace.
Rather than looking afar, Gallipollianus dispatched his deputies to the nearby lands of Macedon and Phrygia and worked to establish diplomatic ties between his Empire and the nearby lands. Reception was a little cool as they recalled the recent heavy handed dealings with his court. Cynical of the "the wonderous philoshper king," the local nobles saw the wisdom in not overly angering the whimiscal, but vindictive Gallipollianus.
Some minor improvements in the capitol of the Hellespont Empire impressed the locals and some minor celebrations were joined in the streets of the many markets of Troy. For while travellers to Troy were not overly common, the all remarked that the City was the most beautiful to see.
The Numblain Alliance
Diplomacy: Adal -NT, Yemen - NT.
His Royal Highness of all Alliance King Zoward of Saormitar and his younger brother, His Royal Highness High Prince (Heir) of all Alliance Lalto of Soarmitar decided in a guarded conferences to expand the nations boundaries and started stockpiling resources to lay the foundation of future glory. Dispataching the "Right-Hand" of the throne, Firs Millard Keltar first to Adal and then across the Red Sea to Yemen; they learned shortly afterwards that the discussions were what the borthers had planned for.
With those expansionistic urges sated, for now at least, His Royal Highness of all Alliance King Zoward of Saormitar personally directed the construction of several Agriculture ditches and improvements, enhancing his nations production measurably. Ordering his younger brother, His Royal Highness High Prince (Heir) of all Alliance Lalto of Soarmitar looked at what investments were possible. Some clever math, surprisingly, lead to some additional funds that were placed into immediate use.
The Kingdom of Egypt
Diplomacy: Lebanon - NT.
King Alrek demanded the his glory be extended ever outward and informed his trusted and talented Heir, Peina, to go and visit the Lebanonese nobles. As directed, Peina set out to the northern reaches. Pausing only to pay homage to lost ancestors at the Sea of Reeds, Peina found a mildly receptive audience who indicated that further talks might prove more productive, but it was clear that those listening were more cautious than his reassurances could qualm...now, suddenly the near spear point of the interest of three monarchs.
Mighty works of diverting the Nile's, during the dry season of course, course proved beneficial as farm land was opened to farming, more than enought to feed the hungry mouths of Eygpt, at least for now. Other, more minor, investments have had little result yet, but ministers hurriedly reassured Alrek that patience is required to see the efforts through.
Africa
Diplomacy: Namaqua - NT, Nguni - NT, Herero - NT
The Pharaoh, taking a sabbatical into the wilderness came back re-energized and enlightened and decreed that this nation would for ever now be known as "Empire of the Cape," keeping with the idea of perfect Imperial rule. Scrolls in hand, he in a surprisingly hearty voice announced,
"Now hear now the words of Pharaoh Caesarion the 41st!"
Pausing like the crafty politician that he was, the Pharaoh smiled as he knew he increased increased the audience's anticipation by every second he hesitated. Starting with a thunderous beginning, he shouted, "Over 1000 solar years ago, Caesarion the Great, the result of divine Julius Caesar and Cleopatra the Magnificent's brief but fiery relationship, was force to flee from the land of Egypt. Forced from his mother's side when the disastrous wars engulfed his homeland, his mother, in the attempt to preserve her linage sent a handful of ministers and her child to the southern lands, far from the reach of her enemies. The small rag-tag fleet carried simple treasures from the house of Ptolemy and the very scrolls that I hold now hold before you and are from the fabled library of Alexandria." To emphasis this fact, he held the scrolls above his head.
Pausing again, this time to catch his breath as those close by see the excitement was beginning to tax the Pharaoh. Starting again in a strong voice, "The gods smiled on my ancestors's voyage, were he arrived safely at his destination. They came to an empty, yet fertile and beautiful land." A tear formed in hi eyes and he paused yet again to brush the tear away. As he did so, the crowd erupted in an heart-felt cheer and applause.
Moved by the warmth of his peoples reaction, he concluded, "
No tribe or nation in a millennium will match our might and glory.
But we have grown soft and complacent. We have forgotten the crimes of the Romans or the treason of those that remained in our home by the Nile. We must return the Empire to a state that will honor our ancestors. I, Caesarion the 41st, Heir of Julius Caesar, Cleopatra, and Caesarion the 1st, pledge my life and my rule to achieving this.
So let it be written; so let it be done."
Supported by his ministers, Ceasarion the XXXXI walked off to his chambers. From his bed, recovering from the extended exposure to the elements, he directed his trusted friends to see to the growth his the Empire. Some success was reported back. Caesarion, it was reported, slept for many days, a small smile on his face the whole while.
Nyssa
Diplomacy: Malawi - NE, Mombassa - T, Makura -EA.
King Aacerly Gotmusson ruled the sprawling Nyssian empire from his expansive palace grounds, resolving matters of the court by day and romancing his wife by night. Something must have been in the water, for his wife in the summer bore him twin girls. With no immediate threats to his borders, King Ace turned his trusted ministers to solidifying his holdings near the far reaches of his kingdom.
Baird Gotmutsson, heir to the throne of Nyssa, traveled to Makura and continued his talks with the native nobles and overs saw the construction of a new port city, The Shire. Witnessing the visible interest that the king took in their humble lands, many cows were slaughtered to provide enough hides on which the bonds of economic ties between the two were laid down.
Sending his two lieutenants, Pippin and Luther, to Mombassa and Malawi, the King expected great things. Unfortunately, the reults were mixed as the Malawi population grew skeptical of the smooth words from the court representative and declined, for now, further discussions of African Nationalism.
An individual named Connor McCloud spend his time working with the palace gaurd and drilled them mercilessly, making them the finest stick carrying and rock slinging group in a square mile radius(get the joke?) and were made to don blue bullet hats and given badges with the inscription, "Keystone" on them. Shortly afterwards, Connor was recalled to his homeland and with him, the national guard. Connor was removed from his position and the untis were disbanded. So much for the shinny new badges.
Togo
Diplomacy: Benin - FA, Gagnoa - NT, Oyo - NT.
King Noambi had mood swings unlike before, first issuing an alarming ultimatim to his neighboring nobles in Gagnoa and then dispatching soothing words to Benin. Both efforts were fairly effective, despite the ruthlessness with which messages delivered to Gagnoa were prefaced. Carefully completing the issuing of his orders to his officers, King Noambi personally conducted a census and still found time to spend with his wife, who bore him yet another babay boy.
As ordered, and demonstrating that his words weren't hollow, the Heir of the realm, Sonaba then travelled north, into Asante and Burkina where slaves were caputured and marched into Yoruba and forced to camp in squalid conditions. There was much rumbling, but the sizable demostration of force there quailed any thoughts of open revolt.
Expecting to be recieved more warmly than he was, Motomma was disappointed to report back that only minimal progress was made during his time in Benin. More than that, he knew that he would be travelling back soon to attempt to finish what was long ago started.
Tanzania
Diplomacy: Nia Nia - NE, Leuru - EA, Uere - NT.
King Dargen, Mighty ruler of the True African People took notice of the upstarts from the South. Wondering aloud to his minsiters, he questioned the reason for the, "lost bushman of the Nile" to distance themselves from the indigenous people of his proud Africa. Turning a chilly shoulder to the southern horizon, his order was to shutter his southern exposure windows, then quickly set about minding his own business.
The delay his musing caused would later prove detrimental to his goals.
Timing, as always, proved to be the point between the rock and the proverbial hard place. His newly designated Ally from Nia Nia was anxious to complete the task sent to him from Ankolye, which was to travel to Uere and open discussions with the local nobles families. Desiring not only to further the glory of the Kingdom, but also his own stature in the Court, he set out immediately. Later in the year, Dargen set out for Nia Nia, wishing to conclude the relationship between the two nations. Unfortunately, with out his Ally, further diplomatic talks would prove useless. When word was sent to him in Uere and he arrived back, it turned out to be too late as the King Dargen had left to return to his palace, frustrated with wasting the time that he did. However, he left word to his loyal ally, shouldering the responsibility for the miscommunication and the subsequent waste of time. Much to the Ally's relief, for the results in Uere weren't spectacular.
The minister of the interior was reported in a conference of govermental planners that Tanzania had maximized the regional agro out put, at least for now.
Tunisa
Diplomacy: Malta - FA, Algeria - NT.
Waking up from his unnaturally long slumber, King Feltin Zerid quickly set about to making up for lost time.
First, before setting out personally for Malta, King Feltin dispatched his trusted lieutenant, Gevhan, to Algeria and order is younger brother to complete a count of all things in his kingdom. Saluting smartly, and over-joyed with the chance to out and see the world, so to speak, Gevhan went out to claim Algeria for the greatness of Tunisa. The youthful exuberance gave way to boredom when the monotonous overland
traveling wore on him. Making it to his destination, Gevhan made only a modest impression upon the local nobles.
Bontan completed the count as ordered, but was happy to so it turned out as he simply had the pick of all he saw and was smitten with an attractive young lass, courted her and they were married in short order. The next year, Bontan was a proud father of a health baby boy.
The sail trip to almost didn't happen until the king was obtain a local nobles sloop, as there were no offical naval ships alloted for his use. Undaunted, the king made his way, had despite the difficulties, found that the native population were simply overwhelmed to have the highest ranking offical travel to their land and received the Tunisian Monarch with open arms.

Andalusia
Diplomacy: Morroco - NE, Estremadura, F, Portugal - NE, Bealerics - NT (previously unreported)
Looking to not exceed his grasp, Hector I turned his eyes westward horizon and traveled personally to the region to his north courting her noble families deftly. After securing their complete incorporation into his nation, he traveled even further west but found that most of his energies were absorbed by his efforts prior and no further gains could be gained diplomatically. Frustrated and tired, Hector I returned home.
In his absence, his dasing younger brother, Victor, hero of the conflict in Valencia and object of many women's affections, both secret and overt, ruled capably, so well that he attempted to sneak off and visit Morroco on official business, but too little time was left for any significant gains could be made.
Local reports indicated that Seville grew yet again, fastly becoming the jewel of the Western Med.
Lord Poncho, trusted agent of Hector relived his glory that saved the dashing Victor from certain defeat and sailed west to plunder what could be plundered. Ravaging Central Italy, Poncho lead his men on a swath of destruction that netted the crown of Andalusia much gold. The men however, grumbled about the work they did, but were frustrated that they didn't get to realize in the profits too.
Navarre
Diplomacy: Aragon - P, Provence - T, Aquitaine - EA.
Ordering ony minor internal programs completed, King Sancho dreamt of larger, more complete victories to immortalize his reign. Larger victories necessity larger armies. Outfitting and training 500 of his best Cavalry, he ordered them to be delivered to his talented, but very busy brother, Alfrado Graces, heir to the Navarre throne. Returning from a successful campaign to the north where Alfrado, having laid low the southern Gauls, he paused only momentarily in Calahorra to pick up the new troop and meet, briefly, but purposefully, with his wife. He turned his attentions south to to campaign agains the Aragonese.
The out post between the two lands sent word back that a large army was traveling south. Mustering their men, the nobles elected to meet the scourge of Iberia on the field of battle, rather than capitualating look those lesser nations....
When Alfrado asked, "why has this wagon slowed down, we need to array our selves for battle quickly."
A junior officer, running quickly, stopped abruptly in front of an irritated Prince and coughed nervously.
"Ho there," barked Alfrado, "You, why has this wagon train slowed. Do you not know that we will be attacking the Argonese soon."
"Er, my lord, our vangaurd has met and destroyed the resisting force in whole." Gulped the officer, saluting as an after thought.
"Oh, very well, carry on soldier. And," Alfrado added softly, turning his back to the soldier even as the soldier maintained his rigid salute, "dispatch a note to the Captain of my new calvary unit informing him that he may remain behind as a garrison." With that, he returned to his wagon, fell onto his bed, sleeping all the way back to Navarre.
Recent raids into their lands had unnerved the local population, so when a representitive from Navarre rode up to the local nobles castle, nearly a month after they have just been raided, agian, they listen attentively to his words and promised tribute, if they could only stop the nefarious raiders pilaging their lands. It was remarked that Baldomero was uncommanly suave at the talks. While successful on his trip back to Guscany, in Aquitaine he was not nearly as impressive.

Diplomacy: Romagna - T.

A succesfull trip was enjoyed by Cesare Aligheiri.

Unfortunately, on the long road to the Holy City of Strausburg, the young child passed away, the difficult journey only acellerating the inevitable. The king, too over come with grief, returned to his palace in Paris to mourn his son's passing. Grief turned to compassion and compassion stirred in the French Monarch's heart. Shortly afterwards, the king was happy to announce the birth of his second son, who appeared to be as healthy as could be.

The Kingdom of England
Diplomacy: Northumbria: - F, Mercia - EA.
Some minor internal works brought the Kingdom to its maximum productin potential, for now. With resources left over, the people of London were treated to more space and several new works, including a new sewer system and many bricked over roads.
The King, Christopher, traveled to Northumbria to re-establish the old lines of allegencies. So moved was the ruling noble, that he swore complete loyality to the crown.
Work in Mercia was partially successful, but the ties that Gregory managed to forge were not nearly as strong.
Other than the bone-chilling news from the fishermen and hunters returning from the Highlands, everything was just fine in ol' Blighty.
---- Northern England-----
With a suddeness, the unexplained lights and smoke ceased. It was many weeks before brave men set foot into the Highlands. When they did, they wished they hadn't. The land was barren and looked as if it were cursed. Resources were ruined, the waters were black with tar and there was only two bodies every found. All signs of the local inhabitants were gone, and if not for the two bodies found, one would have thought that noone ever lived here before so barren was the land. The one body, found shortly was burst asunder, apperantly from within, but no one could really tell. The other, still living, was completely mad, ran into the arms of the surveyors babbling about some thing in a manner that was unsettling. His screams of, "They made me do it....they made me do it, my soul is lost." He expired in the arms of the man that found him, who dropped him to ground and left him there where he lay.
Bavaria
Diplomacy: Tyrol- NT, Switzerland - NE, Carinthia - C, Slovenia - C.
Miscounting, King Wolfgang abbreviated his constructions in Bavaria, nearly maxing out his region's capacity to produce crops, but not quite, shifting rather, some regional projects to those in Bohemia, much the local population's delight. A concerted effort to bring education to the masses was undertaken with gusto, the dividends of which will bear fruit in the years to come.
Sending his younger brother on a whirlwind tour of the southern lands, with the intent of doing some good fo rhte kingdom, but also to secure a bride also, the young heir Eric found a suitable bride and enjoyed her company very much, nearly to the neglect of his other duities. Other attempts to develop ties with nations near the Aegean Sea were chilly at best.
The Kingdom of Holland
Diplomacy: Denmark - EA.
The nagging suspicion of Lieutenant Wout clouded the court for a brief time, but this quickl passed and King Axel settled back into matters of courtly concern and directed his nation like the great captain that his people saw him as.
Amersterdam truely became the one of the greatest city in the world as many fountains and statutes were built at the corners of newly paved street ways, making the city a much cleaner and healthier place in which to live, which brought people by the cart load.
Continuing to place more and more distance between the near fiasco that nearly occured in Denmark and his rule, King Axel ordered his ministers to travel yet back to Denmark and secure further national ties to this land. Grudging acceptence slowed discussions, but after long hours of presausive talks from Prince Hardbert and his delegates, a new economic relationship was reached, much to the benefit of both peoples.
The Roman Catholic Church
Ecclesiastical Constructs: Savoy - Ab, Bavaria - Ab, Ille de France - Mn, Lorraine - failed, Catalonia - failed, Swabia - Mn
The preachers of Christianity were busy indeed. No sooner had they visited a location, blessed, usually successfully the building of additional structures to allow for more and more people to praise God in all his glory, they moved on to repeat the actions. One would have thought the Pope was in more than one place at a time. So much the better to lead the growing flock of saved souls onto salvation.
While some of the constructs were slowed by poor conditions, there was an unexpected surge in Catholic attendence at Sunday masses in Provence. Unexpectedly, but neither unwelcomed or unappreciated.

Even though most of his energies were absorbed with dispatching orders and tending tohis court, Pavel found time to again increase is militia, though not as grandly as previously witnessed as only 300 light troops were added. Also, Pavel was able to find enough talented individuals to staff fully his government agencies.
