The Far East:

Japan: His Royal Highness Hamagoto
Diplomacy: Yanaguchi - A, Shikoku - F.
The unpleasant business of forcing a now ineffectual minister from his posting troubled the brow of Hamagoto. Tears formed in the eyes of the elderly king, but both knew that the move was necessary. However, the displaced family members burned with jealously and were rumored to have whispered veiled threats against the crown. The sudden deterioration of Gototai's health and his subsequent death were blamed on a broken heart. Disgraced, the eldest son left the isle and his people.

Accordingly there several promotions to occupy the now vacant office and new title of Prince. Other than the melodrama of court life, things were relatively quiet in the land of the Raising Sun. Hamagoto worked on a detailed plan to place the final touches of legacy that was to be remembered for generations to come. As one would expect, the loss of a close friend caused him to reflect upon his mortality. Wanted to spread the remaining wealth of his nation around and soothe any possibly guilt that he had, Hamagoto order the continued regional enhancement Kwanto and Aichi. Not only was the sun raising upon the isle too.

The Khemer Kingdom: Ieng Sary
Diplomacy: None
No Turn Received.

The Zhuang Kingdom - Cheng Huang-ti
Diplomacy: Keinchou- NT.
The aging monarch grew weary of the long and winding path that took him from his summer home in Nanling from Kwangsi. The path was troubled with bandits, wash-outs and slow moving oxen burden for market. Even with forewarning to clear the path, passage was tedious at best. Allocating funds from his treasury, Cheng Huang-ti decreed that there would be a direct line of communication to ease his travels. One thing lead to another, and a couple of small, yet interesting miscalculations later, a end result was that of a royal road from door to door. The fact that this assisted other matters of State was just a bonus, evidently.

While Cheng Haung-ti was testing his newly laid road, he sent his best diplomat to negotiate an understanding with the People of Keinchou. The results were as the wise old monarch said. In addition, the time witnessed an increased regional beautification project and the swelling of the port city Fuzhou as word of Cheng Huang-ti's accomplished spread.

The Jade Dragon (Java)

Northern China - The Long Great Empire (Honan)
Diplomacy: Shensi - EA.
The passing of the well respected assistant, Wang Chung, deeply troubled the Monarch of the Long Great Empire. It unfortunately reminded him that his life was not long for this mortal coil. Wanting to leave an even more impressive legacy, the king vowed to re-double his efforts to better account his time on this planet. Much work was directed to newer lands of the Empire as the palace and the surround land had already been fully engaged.

Otherwise, Shensi was courted officially by the court of Honan, however, the passing of Wang Chung was to have a ripple effect through the kingdom as his presence was missed and the task assigned to him went uncompleted.

Central China (Szchewan)

The Republic of India - Sanji Pontek the Illuminated - Deceased
Diplomacy: Vengi - F
Early in the morning one day, the staff decided to enter the royal bed-chambers. Sanji had recently taken to sleeping late in the hopeful attempt to recapture the visions that haunted him earlier in this life. So, when he failed to make an appearance, little alarm was felt necessary. However, as the day wore onto night, the advisers felt growing uneasiness. The following morning, a brave young page entered after a full hour of knocking at the chamber's door. The wails of the young page told all outside what they had feared. Plans were canceled, arrangements were made and a huge ceremony was staged to honor the king.

The misfortune of the royal family was to equal that of Job, a character in the newly founded faith of the Republic. After having set the administration in order, Rajii took his place as a pall-bearer and when he went to place the casket in the grave, his bracelet got caught on the handle and was crushed beneath his brothers casket. The omens were heeded and the grave was quickly filled in. Fortunately, Rajii had elevated Shanduptra to heir, and was posed to accept the republic's seat when Rajii passed on. However, the nation was in a precarious position, no heir, no royal children to step in and the now very elderly Shanduptra as First Council. Just when the news couldn't get any worse, it of course did.

Trusted agent, Ernie Martz, was apparently assasinated by dissidents in Malabar when he did finally travel there as per his original orders. However, the minister in waiting turned out to be a very capable young man. The founding of a city in Chera was dedicated to Sanji and opened further communication and trade routes for the Republic.

The Mauryan Empire: His Royal Personage Chandragupta
Diplomacy: None
The insular national leader, Chandragupta, and his people continued a policy of isolationism, sending neither emissaries abroad or receiving visitors at his palace. Rather the continued work of national self-betterment went along uninterrupted. Much to the delight of Chandragupta and his followers. Ironically though, Chandragupta announced in a press release that The Mauryan Empire's markets were now open to all.

Unfortunately, fate began to balance out the long life spans of the close advisers to Chandragupta. Fortunately, there were several younger assistants waiting in the wings for the opportunities. Words were whispered in the halls that the Great Chandragupta would soon follow his friends to the eternal resting at the side of Shiva, as the future spiritual protector of his people. While this made for nice print, Chandragupta had no intention of departing any earlier than he had too, and made that a point to be announced to all.

The Middle East:

Kara-Khitia - Kara Chethosk
Diplomacy: Khazakh - NT.
The ancient monarch's, Kara Chethost, focus drifted a bit. While his heart was in the right place, the results were not exactly what he ordered, but internally beneficial. Wanting to create better living conditions for his subjects he allocated quite a few more funds than was necessary for the Bokhara regional reclamation project Rather than point the oversight to the occasionally violent national leader, a minor court official simply redirected the funds with another regional reclamation. However, after some cursory investigations, it was suspected that the official had diverted some of the funds to his own project...his housing.

No one dared to bring this up to the monarch as they would eventually have to point out that they failed to notify their King f the original error, so all was forgotten.

The Babylon Empire: Emperor Sheesh Bazaar
Diplomacy: Arbiliq - NT- Fars - NT, Circis - PT.
The imperial coffers of the Babylon Empire continued to swell, so much in fact that the Emperor had allocated funds to a task that was not possible, and yet remained able to complete all other goals and tasks. A problem usually only dreamed of by lesser nations. As such, many wonders were brought into being with flowing fountains, clean aqueducts and a public ban of Mimes. The people rejoiced as they could go to their market unimpeded now.

Yet again a concerted effort was made by the ruling faction to secularize the nation. The results were marginal, but notable. Along with the growing secularism, a wave of militaristic rumblings were heard for miles around. The sweeping armies of Babylon rampaged into Circis, bringing them forcibly under the yoke of Babylonian Rule.

The Hellespont Empire - The Wonderous Philospher King Gillipoianus

The Kingdom of Egypt: King Paren

Diplomacy: Hamanaptra - EA, Syria - F.
Misfortunate visited the lands of Egypt in not the form of locust or waters running red, but in the form of King Alrek passing. At first, reports of assassins flooded the court. Not too far removed from a plot to over throw King Alrek people looked to this recent event as the source of the untimely death. However, later, when cooler heads prevailed, the death was not linked to poisoning, but more likely a spoiled date? As such, the transition of the recently appointed heir, Paren, took seat at court and immediately appointed his younger brother as heir, just in case.

In other regional developments, work continued in Egypt, as a great reservoir was constructed to begin bringing more water to arid regions. The people of the region were jubilant in their celebrations. A good first step for the new king. However, typical courtly paranoia festered and the size of the royal stables were increased and the cavalry branch witnessed increased funds for training and staffing as the Egyptians now boasted a force of over 5,000 horse. Diplomatic overtures in Syria and Hamanaptra were pleasantly productive. Another startling development was the unanticipated rapid increase of the technology curve. One wondered what marvels would the Egyptian people lead the world with. Indeed the first years of the new reign were what any and all rulers would have wished for.

The Muslim Church: Holy Father al-Habib 'Abdullah.
Ecclesiastical Builds: Ad'dahna - CH, Tihamat - CH, Asir - AB, Sheba - Failed
The Holy Father, al-Habib 'Abdullah renewed his energies and developed some eccentric ambitions. Successfully directing the construction of several important and needed religious sites in nearby lands, his investments witnessed fruition in increasing the ability to properly staff and administer to his fledgling faith. While all were not successes, the over effort was impressive and missionary work was beneficial in Yemen. Oddly though, The Chief Imam of Islam decided to stake claims to the lands of Petra and the Hijaz. None could fathom his next ambition?

Official reports were that, "The High Imam Al-Habib 'Abdullah went north, inspired by Allah to ask the proud people of the Hijaz to grant him secular authority. This was met with confused faces. But the prime focus of his mission was the journey to Petra where he also campaigned for secular authority was backed his efforts with what cynics would call bribes but he stated was a, "a partial refund of tithes."

Africa

South Africa Ceaserian, the 41st True king to the throne of the Egyptian people.
Diplomacy: None.

The Holy Church of Madregai
Ecclesiastical Constructs:
The Holy Father, Tuhara, traveled down the Niger River in the hope to convert more and more lost souls to the one true faith. His journey brought him to the established kingdom of Togo, who was too busy to personally grant him an audience, which did not stop the Pontiff from spreading the "good" word. He made it very clear that he would be working endlessly to get the People of Togo enlightened and to save their ever-lasting souls from the eternal damnation of the fiery pit. His impressive oratory skills were unparalleled and a great result was already witnessed in more and more people swelling the throngs around him.

His trusted bishop, Haratu, continued to work to fully convert the region of Nupe into the Madregian faith, leaving no one person un-addressed. The region was as converted as one could reasonably expect of a single man, but Haratu would remain until all had had the word preached to them. Alas, that was not to be so as the proud bishop passed while tracking over the country side to another local.

Togo: Sonabe
Diplomacy: Gorouol- T, Songhai - NT, Nupe - T
Sanaba, the great and benevolent ruler of Togo was worried. He had a dream that standing upon a tall tower that he could see his borders. That meant that the outside world was too close. The obvious solution was obviously, to him that is, to increase the borders of his kingdom. The more insulation, the better he thought. So, with out delay, he sent his ministers out to secure better relations with as many principalities as possible. In conjunction, a tremendous reclamation project was started, the likes of which had never been conceived previously.

However, plying the tried and tested diplomacy method was attempted by Sanaba. The attempt to extend the opportunity for forced labor to any idle body outside the kingdom was enacted. Unfortunately, after years of continued plucking of nearby regions, the results were not worth the effort. In addition, the practices of raiding their neighbors tended to mute the effectiveness of his diplomats as correctly cynical nobles were less and less happy with the atmosphere at the court palace. Some progress, none-the-less, was made as the ministers traveled abroad, just not as much as the great King of Togo wanted.

Visitors from further north traveled down the Upper Niger River and were found preaching odd messages concerning a single god. Some people in the distance regions were confused and the preachers of this odd faith left before the confused border guards could detain the unannounced visitors. Runners were sent to the court to determine what if any actions should be taken if these men made the attempt to cause more civil unrest?

Kingdom of Tanzania - King Dargen
Diplomacy: Kongo - NT.
The royal cartographers had only recently taken a step back from the wall mosaic that was a perfect scale replica of the kingdom. Smug smiles crept over the faces of the master map-makers. A gentle tap to the chief map-maker's shoulder brought attention that ever city in the kingdom had been left off the map. First a look of disbelief was noted in the eyes of the map-maker as he could not understand what the minor official was saying. Disbelief was followed by first shock and then by panic. However, an apprentice pointed out that addition could be made as such.

As it turned out, no one even noticed the over-sight and the changes were made to make the update the map. Of course the kings announcement of his intent to send a delegation to Kongo to court the nobles there resulted in a long expelled breath in the final understanding that no project would ever be complete.

Tunisa: The Child King Hurbabal
Diplomacy: Algeria - F.
The Child King Hurbabal continued to grow healthy as his regent, Bontan Zerid, ruled in his stead. However, the twists of fate had not ceased in the kingdom and the trusted adviser, the elderly Gehvan could not weather another summer in the oppressive Sahara heat. None-the-less, Bontan Zerid found another to step in and work was started anew. Reports returned from the expedition started by Gehvan with tantalizing results...there was something in the desert of Gefara.

More offerings were sent to Algeria, along with workers and artisans. The gesture was enough to assure the people of Algeria that the boy King was in fact as good as his father's word. Thus the small kingdom became fully annexed into the Tunisian Empire. Bontan Zerid displayed canny long-term thought and also ordered the construction of a port city in Malta, an important development to be sure.

Europe

Navarre -King Poncho Alonso
Diplomacy: Lyonnais -NE, Limousin - EA.
"So much more work than it looked from afar this ruling stuff," muttered King Poncho under his breath as yet another peasant trod off after accusing his neighbor of stealing some of his livestock. Those days of leading vast armies, swarming over-matched enemies, dodging spear and sword seemed easy in comparison. King Poncho forced another in seemingly never ending smiles as another peasant made some inane request and drifted off into another attentive day-dream.

Prince Zadornin attended a local Catholic Church service. Directed to pray for guidance by the lead priest of a local church. "God will show you the true path for you and your people, if you let him," was the words of encouragement. However, the exercise seemed to provide him no greater insight than before. Prince Zadornin returned to court to assist his father with the more mundane aspects to ruling the domain. The need for a catalogue of the nation was recognized and ordered. Zadornin soon wished that the exercise of prayer had granted him the wisdom to have delayed his return to court. None-the-less, the census was completed. Poncho Alonso was very happy at the Prince's ability.

Prince Alfrado Garces remained ever vigilant, praying his own prayer. He wanted ever so badly to ride off like his father to win even greater glory, but for the time being, he spent his time guarding the beaches of the southern shores, not an all together bad option he concluded half-heartedly.

The Kingdom of France - Robert the Fair
Diplomacy: Flanders - T,
More diplomatic efforts were directed northwards as the graceful French monarch celebrated his 60th birthday with gifts to the people of Flanders. The predominately Flemish population were confused with the gifts and the talented oratorical skills of the French Delegate when viewed with the large armed camp that followed the diplomat. Gunboat diplomacy had taken the leading nobles by raised eyebrows.

Internally, ever looking in-ward, Robert the Fair commissioned several out of work artisans and plumbers to address the lack of proper sanitation in the growing metropolis of Paris with elaborately constructed fountains and public showers. In addition, a new city, expressing the joy of France was built in Nivernas. The cartographers wondered if there would be room on the maps for any further expansion by the Kingdom of France?

The rumblings of trouble to the north: Years had passed relatively quietly in the cold northern waters since the treacherous Wout traveled north, knowingly sent to his planned death by the Dutch crowned. He was never sighted again by any one that would have recognized him, nor was word heard of his name. Obviously, the plan of his demise was fulfilled. However, the North Sea has been a source of unanticipated trouble since. Waters that grandfathers once schooled their grandchildren upon witness more reports of craft not returning to home ports. Possibly just too many unseasoned crews becoming lost or possibly more? Of course, the superstitious would always claim to have seen an unnatural fog that hovered on the edge of sight but was never confirmed by any authorities sent to investigate the matter. All of the investigative parties returned with out incident. It was noted that the Highlands has yet to return to its former condition.

The Kingdom of England - King Christoper
Diplomacy: Gwynned - A, Dyffed - EA.
Sorrow filled the court when it was reported that when the royal family (albeit distant) member, John passed away in the midst of his task of converting Northumbria. Unfortunately, the loss went with out too much ceremony as King Christopher traveled personally to resolve the issue of Gwynned's true loyalty. In a surprising accomplishment, Gwynned's leading nobleman offered his sword in allegiance and his men as defenders of the realm. Christopher eyed the offer with due skepticism, but was stuck, he needed the region's loyalty, but the noble's words did not convey the sense that he sought.

The unprecedented accomplishment of founding two cities at the same time was laid and completed on both east and west coast of the Kingdom. York and Plymouth were capable of sustaining a working population and trade by year's end. Truly a testament of the resolve inherent to Englishmen. In a belated newsletter circulated in Lancashire, the court indicated that they had to withdraw the postal/sheriff facility as the court simply could not man the operation just yet. The news letter, along with the withdraw of official presence served as kindling to the former militia building.

Bavaria
Diplomacy: Austria - T, Alsace - NE, Thuringia - F.
The long hours of work finally saw success as the elderly king Wolfgang completed the goal he set out with, the maximize the potential agricultural out-put of his proud homeland. He allowed himself a nap, but unfortunately never awoke from it, passing away in his sleep.

The anticipated, but yet untimely death of Wolfgang, forced his heir to cut off his plans of religions conversion to Catholicism in Franconia. He traveled back to the Palace with both a heavy heart and the knowledge that yet more work needed to be done. As such, the young man set forth to build a monument to his deceased father in Tanus. The magnificent public work generated many people to come and witness the glowing glory of Bavaria.

The Kingdom of Holland - His Exalted, King Ronan
Diplomacy: None.
The father of the Dutch, King Axel passed away quietly in night after an exhaustive week of organization and courtly functions. The venerable leader's last action was to reiterate his policy of isolation and non-interference, particularly those brain washing faith-mongers from Rome. As usually occurs, words meant to be limited in spirit tend to be taken further by individuals that have other agendas. This time, churches were razed by locals in Holland and Lorraine. The actions of burning soon turned to looting and then later acts were committed against a small nunnery that are best left unreported. When the orgy of violence was sated, the ordinary routine was re-established as the locals went sheepishly about their daily business, embarrassed at what happened at their own hands.

Otherwise, even with the state funeral for the dear King Axel and the following coronation of King Ronan, life in the rst of Holland were mostly uneventful. There was the continuous regional beautification of Freisland and frenzied re-organization of the Dutch trading routes to accomplish the typical Dutch maximization of all available resources.

The Roman Catholic Church

The Kingdom of Poland: His Excellency, King Mieszko I
Diplomacy: Lithuania - NT, Masuria - A.
The Proud Pole, Mieszko I, even more proud than before, initiated trade with several nearby nations. Surely this act would bring in an increasingly greater amount of riches that the Poles rightly deserved. Unfortunately, shipping for the routes and not been budgeted, and as such, the routes, while open, were not productive. Surely a situation to be resolved immediately.

On a domestic note, the area of Little Poland received its share of attention in surveying. As such, homesteads and plots were laid out and farm-lands were quickly producing more and more goods for consumption. There is much to be proud of thought Mieszko. More work was to be required though before any back patting was to be enjoyed. Masuria, noting the growing influence of the Polish Throne, decided to strengthen his ties to the crown and pledged his allegiances to the continued cooperation.
