LORDS OF THE EARTH CAMPAIGN 11
TURN #68
1236 - 1240
A Settling We Will Go

RULES IN USE 5.8.2
So if you don't have a copy either download them from the Throneworld site or order a paper copy from Thomas!

RULE MODIFICATIONS
Any cultivated region can be colonized to 2gp by spending 15gp and 15nfp per level
Any named Island can be colonized to 1gp (with a few exceptions)

Any or all of your support cost can be paid by nfp at 1nfp = 2gp

Recruitment A Merchant house, Open Nation, or Secret Empire may spend gp in 25gp blocks to attempt to get nfp for Megalithic Projects. Base amount is 1d6-1 for open nations and -2 for SEs. Note to SEs zero or less nfp result may get you exposed.

I am using the Lords 17 combat system.

Note that the Combat values for Warships are what they are worth in land combat. For Naval combat they are as follows
HEW = 3, HW = 2, EW = 2.25, W = 1.5, XEW = 1.5, XW = 1
Troops on ships Elite Infantry any Type = 1.5
Regular Infantry any Type = 1
Inexperienced Infantry, All Cav, Siege, ART = 0.5

Lords 11 Unit Conversion
Each point of cavalry and infantry represents 500 fighting men.
A warship or transport point = 1 ships with 500 men aboard each ship.
A siege point = 500 sappers or 5 ballista, catapults, siege engines, trebuchets or battle towers.
A field fort point = 1 fort manned by 500 men each.
A wall point = 10 feet of city wall ramparts.

GM Notes

Please take a look at the map in your area and let me know of any differences between it and what is on your stat sheet

My email is phillipbaird@sprintmail.com

Because I don't like "Magic" Numbers I am using percentages for basically all bonuses i.e. normally for every 5 ap extra spent on an action you get a +1. Now each ap is worth +0.20. So 5ap still gets you +1 but instead of 4ap being useless it has an 80% chance of getting you a +1. Same basic system is used for gp bonuses

UNIVERSITY LEVEL
Please note that there is a maximum useful university level 10 is the max you will want and then only if you are a theocratic caste slave state for each that you aren't subtract one, if society and/or economic is open subtract one each, if half of your income is from cities or trade subtract another one. So somewhere in the 5 to 7 range will max you out. Maybe less depending on your religion and location in the world

THE KINGDOM OF BURMA
Kwaa Chee, King of Burma
Diplomacy: Saigang (ea)

Kwaa Chee decided if Siam wouldn't join peacefully he would take it by force. Calling up every available body he set off with over 375,000 men. Sending Shark with over 80 ships around to blockade Sakhon. The King of Siam met him with 80,000 troops at the passes. Early intel fun saw the death of Sondata the gifted Burmese general and the wounding of the King of Siam. Now command of the massive Burmese army fell on Kwaa Chee and one not very gifted lieutenant. The only thing Kwaa Chee had going for him was his massive numbers as he sent his troops into the passes. Riding forward to see how things were going he was captured by a Siamese patrol. He died in captivity a few years later. The Burmese managed to kill or wound almost 30% of the Siamese forces but the losses they took in relation were too much for the troops on top of the loss of their king and they retreated back to Thanton leaving close to 20% of the army behind dead or captured. Final count of the dead was over 60,000 Burmese and only 7,500 dead for the Siamese.

AL BATNAH HORDE
Sheik Mohammad, Defender of the One True Faith
Diplomacy: None

Mohammad decided to go kill some Greeks and take back land for Aleppo. So he headed into Cilicia with over 300,000 men. Meeting up with the Greek occupation force of 100,000 men and ships. Mohammad had a few problems since he was trying to charge cavalry into trees and his large army was a bit much to handle for one man. Charge went the Al Batnah. Splat went the Greeks. Who lost close to 70% of their force to about 7% for the Al Batnah. Unfortunately for Mohammad he took a ballista bolt from one of the ships square in the chest. John the Greek commander was just rode over by some of the horde. With both leaders dead both armies routed off the field. The Greeks pulling back to Illyria and the Al Bathan back to Aleppo. With Mohammad's death the Al Batnah fell into disarray and it took his son quite a long time to get full control of the Horde back after he came of age. Final losses for the Al Batnah including desertions, dead and losses in the rout were over 60,000. Greek losses were about the same. Cilicia reverted back to Aleppo.
