SEAFARER TRADE RANGE:  This turn all Seafarer nations get extra GP based on trade income because the income calculator did not use 4 as your trade range until this turn.

CITY IMPERIAL SIZE: Every controlled city also counts against your Imperial Size.  I will be using two formulae to determine this: It's either every 3 cities times your Size Divisor counts as 1 Imperial Size (if friendly, pacified or full allied, see below for the
variation) -or- every 10 city GPv times your Size Divisor counts as 1 Imperial Size, whatever is lower.  (Special Announcement)  Cities
counting against your imperial size will be enforced as of Turn 55 of Lords 11, Turn 15 of Lords 12 and Turn 90 of Lords 10.  You all will be given time to boost your Infrastructure or shore off unneeded regions to prevent Thin Government.

MERC POOLS:  All areas of the world have available for hire as mercenaries, 10hi, 10i, 10c, 10w.  Minimum bid is .5 GP per unit, 1 GP for the heavy units.  Mercenaries assume the QR of your nation.  I plan to change the Merc system soon.

A SPECIAL REPORT:
THE FOURTH SCHISMATIC WAR  (1148- )
Phase III: (localized wars)  Hungary vs. Sweden, Rome vs. Lorraine
The Fourth War went back to a simmer when the conflicts from Phase II continued in an isolated fashion.  The Romans and the Hungarians offered no violence towards each other.  There was peace of sorts in Gaul and Britain.

1161
January-  The siege of Alborg continued.  Field Marshal Bob was wounded by an assassin's dagger.  Magyar Prince Gilbert assumed command of the navy at Jutland.  The Swedish King Wotan remained bottled up in Alborg.
February- Roman siege of Aachen was broken by Papal cadets.  Supply roads open from Vermandois and along the Rhine River to the Teutonic Holy City.  The Swedish navy of Admiral Sythia was expanded in Stockholm.
March- Teutonic Pope Benjamin called for a holy war against the Schismatics.  He fails to stir up an emotion.
April-  Roman Consul Quintus ClaudiusT. Pompeius Mactator and 5 heavy warships, 10 privateers, 5 standard galleys, 20 light galleys, 7500 archers, 9000 mixed cavalry and 15,000 mercenaries march north along the east bank of the Rhine River from Burgundy.  The Swedish navy of 35 warships, 10 great boats and 17 longships are seen in the Baltic Sea.
May- Sythia's fleet arrive at the Skaggerak.  King Stephan II of Hungary picked up newly built heavy warships at the Schleswig dockyards on his way to Jutland.
June- Sythia's navy challenged Gilbert.  King Stephan arrived in time for the naval battle.  After seeing the 70 grosswehrschiffen and 12 enggallerie, the Swedes executed a tactical withdrawal which was foiled easily by Gilbert.  As the naval battle raged, the siege of Alborg was lifted allowing for supplies to be run in and for King Wotan to escape.  After taking tremendous losses, Sythia judged that he would need to build lots of heavy warships to counter the lumbersome Magyar navy.  With 6 heavies, 10 medium ships and 12 longships the Swedes sailed back home.
The Magyar fleet totalling its losses and captured ships now had 62 grosswehrschiffen, 12 nordboote and 8 enggallerie.
July- Q. Claudius arrived to Lorraine.  His ships blockaded the Rhine River cutting off that supply road for Aachen.  The Vermandois country road remained open.  The Romans decided to starve out Scholl Wulfenstein, along the Rhine River.
August- The Swedish Navy returned to Stockholm.  The siege of Alborg resumed.
1162
June- Alborg surrendered to the Huns.  The Jutish militia was disarmed.
1163
May- Alborg and Jutland were militarily converted to Teutonic Christian by King Stephan by the army of 63,000 light cavalry, 5000 infantry and 2000 siege engineers.
Prince Gilbert patrolled the Skaggerak and the North Sea.
1164-5
Scholl Wulfenstein adamantly refused surrender to the Romans after all calls.  The Beseiging forces: 50,000 mixed cavalry, 7500 archers, 2500 sappers.  Roman Ship Blockade: 20 light galleys, 5 dromonds, 5 standard galleys.  Prince Gilbert docked the Hun navy at Schleswig.

THE MAGYARORSZAGH KINGDOM OF HUNGARY
Stephen II, King of Hungary and Germany
DIPLOMACY: Meissen(ne)
The Hungarian cease-fire with the Roman persisted even though Aachen was under attack.  This allowed King Stephen II to concentrate his attention to troublesome Alborg.  It fell in 1162 and Jutland became Teutonic Christian by brutal persuation.  King Stephen returned home in 1164 after a visit to Meiseen.  Celtic missionaries lessened the hostility of Magyar Germans to their church.

THE KINGDOM OF FRANCE

DIPLOMACY: Sesquehanna(ne)
A bevy of leaders converged to entice Sesquehanna to greater alliegance.  However, religion was a sticky issue and was unresolvable.  There would be no greater alliance unless Sesquehanna was converted to the admiration of Valhalla.  The Efu armies remained on alert but did not take part in the troubles of Etowah.
    MAP: Abitibi became cultivated.

THE ILLINI NATIONS
Shoma, Chief of Illinois
DIPLOMACY: Sangamon(hs, pacified), Saginaw(c)
Shoma marched into Sangamon and demanded a wife.  The Sangamon plains dwellers were not about to comply and told him to buzz off.  That only angered the Illini chief whose forces pacified the region.  Then he took a wife from the prettiest maidens rounded up.  The Illini continued the fire sale of their southern provinces.  For 30 sacks of cowries, Kaskinapo was ceded to Etowah.  Kaskinapo couldn't take the rejection and rebelled from their new masters.  Shoma finally spoke on this issue:
"Today, we have completed the dream which began with my father's father.  The sale of Tunica, to the Etowah Temple Sect, has enabled us to gather all the true Illini nation of the Ohio River.  Finally, we are united in the lands chosen for us by the great Raven God.  Basking in his power and glory, we will grow stronger.  We will rise up from the earth and stand tall and proud like the plant of life, maize.  And woe to the infidels who try to defile our holy land.  For we will strike them down with a fury never beheld on this earth.  For today, we are finally the Illini Empire."
MAP: Titishoma grew to 6 GPv.

THE ETOWAH TEMPLE SECT
Gunbok, Sachem and High Priest of Etowah
DIPLOMACY: Lucayo(ne)
The Etowah was beset by more problems.  There were riots in Calusa and Powhattan revolted outright.  Gunbok wouldn't respond to this for he knew this was a trick to get his army tied up while his nation get invaded by the sea peoples.  Sly Fox, his lieutenant, was wounded by a poison arrow; he had to sit out this turn.
The Ciboney were the first to strike.  Cowards that they were, the Caribbeans stayed on their boats and shut down Etowah shipping.  They captured or destroyed merchant ships in Cusabo, Savanah, Apopka and Key Largo.  In July 1162, as the Ciboney pirated the coastline, the Maya unloaded troops on the marshy shores of Okawaha.  The 18,500 light cavalry, 40,000 heavy infantry and 6500 diggers were outmuscled by 20,000 mixed cavalry, 38,500 heavy spearmen, 3000 clubmen, 46,500 archers and 1000 engineers who performed an ordered advance against the bogged down mob formation of the Maya.  All the Maya warriors were slain, their bodies becoming alligator chow.  Only 6000 heavy spearmen were lost by the home team.  The Maya only succeeded in discouraging the Suwanee fleet from trading with the Mogollon.
Wild Turkey was outtalked by Prince Lebanmada of the Ciboney in Lucayo.

Sikolla IV, Heir to the Kingdom of Atlantis
DIPLOMACY: Lucayo(c)
Sikolla chose to conduct economic warfare with his navy of 100 warships, 6 great ships and 10,000 marines.  They captured 53 transports along the Etowah coastline and sank as much.  Mercenaries were hired to protect the home city.  Maybe the Maya would lose their armies trying to get a beach-head but the seas belong to the Carib.

The Rocky Mountains

Sierra Madre

THE MAYA KINGDOM OF TIKAL
Cha Kan
Lord Ip Sha failed to break the Etowah with his insufficient forces.  He was lucky to escape the disaster alive.  He had even survived an attempt on his life.  Ga Lon and his navy of 20 warships, 30 great warships and 90 cargo boats terrorized the Delta Sea in 1163 and then went home.  The Bocunio stayed in Ulva and did not plunder anything.
