DIPLOMACY: none

THE ALMORAVID EMIRATE OF ANDALUSIA
Kadir, Emir as Sevilla
DIPLOMACY: Carib(ne), Takrur(f)
Emir Istafa was insecure for he did a no-no. To prove that he was no Saxon butt smoocher, he built a great megalithic mosque, called the Great Mosque. He then took a pilgrimmage to the holy places. First to Jerusalem then Mecca. At Mecca he fell down dead. It was said that a lightning bolt from the holy stone itself struck the wayward Emir down. Istafa had a son named Kadir who was barely ready for the top job.
In other news, armies were dispatched to Merrakesh, Salamanca and Gambia to stem the riots. Admiral Jaiz explored the Cape Verde current and encountered heavy storms all the way. He made it to the Carib Islands, who weren't impressed that he was wonderful. Cities: Al Figuig(2), Ar Rokki(7), Katio(2) and Toledo(9) grew.

THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF ENGLAND
Buford, King of England
DIPLOMACY: none
The English found out that Pope Innocent III was in Ipswich. Chancellor Derby called on Lord Wilmingham to shut down the Innocentine cathedrals in Helston, London, Ipswich and Hull. These acts would be scorned amongst the populace for the Pope was well loved. Lord Wilmingham couldn't bring himself to follow these orders exactly. He merely cancelled a Sunday's mass then moved on to the next cathedral. As young Buford came to power, a swarm of knights and armed peasants answered Innocent's call for a crusade against the Moors. Buford and Derby found themselves in a bind. They wanted to honor their agreement with Saxonia but their kingdom was well within the Papal camp. Iestian ships started trading at Helston but they weren't welcome.

THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA
Henry IV, King of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of Blois
DIPLOMACY: Asturias(nt), Gascony(nt)
Riots were instigated by the crown in Tours but the people merely got rowdy and destroyed some public works. The king himself had to crush the malcontents and consider better ways to depopulate Tours. An army of 5000 knights rode through Anjou and Orleans and shut down a couple abbeys still in the control of the Innocentine Church. The Saxons engineered and completed the royal road from Soissons to the Danish city of Liege in Brabant.

There was a garrison of 19,500 bored knights which was disarmed and devitalized. Genoa's ramparts surrendered without a struggle (without even the usual insults hurled between armies) and the rest of the campaign was easy. Lombardy was repatriated. Savoy was pacified. Verona was regained. With the most minimal of losses the troops came home in 1487 and drank lots of wine. Pope Sixtus V was quiet.

Hesperos declared himself to be the Emperor but Leon Phormio, master general of the navy, would not offer fealty. It took little council to convince Leon to make himself Emperor.
