THE AKA'MURRID EMIRATE OF FULANI
Mohammad, Emir of the Fulani, The Philosopher-King of the Sahel
DIPLOMACY: Zaria(t), Bornu(a)
The Fulani stayed high and dry from the wild conflicts of heathens and Christians. A royal road was built from Katsina to Sokoto. Ngazargumu got to 4 Gpv. King Seldez died a horrible death from some coughing-up-blood malady. His 10 year old son Mohammad was it. Bekter forgot that Songhai was Fulani's homeland. Ahmu suffered a diplomatic setback when it was discovered that Fulani spies had rustled the Zaria king's cattle. The Dazans refused to got to Gwari for fear of the tse-tse fly.

THE SUPREMACY OF TOGO
Elembouko II, Supreme Oba of Togo
DIPLOMACY: none
The king was hurt by a poison dart to the arm which incapcitated him for awhile. The Kongo could have capitalized but their army remained in Togo region. The navy blockaded Accra though and shut down the internal trade. The Kongo king Mbelini after much torture was buried up to his neck at a fire ant hill. No more Mbelini.

THE BANTU KINGS OF KONGO
Zletinga, King of Ba-Congo
DIPLOMACY: none
General Shozaka was deeply intoxated by the stinging powder. He remained in a state of stupor for over a year. Koshaka took the lead in the campaign with the 22 ship navy and 10,000 mercenaries. Many of these deserted upon reaching Akan. Without a strong land army to contest the 19,500 defenders the best the general could do was blockade Akan's coast. Mbelini's death sent shock waves across the kingdom. Mbelini's brother Zletinga was never a popular man in the kingdom. Douala and Loangar revolted straight off. Shozaka took the opportunity he had to become king in his own right. He moved his court to Leopards which he made his capital. The Kingdom recovered from the dynastic uproar to deal with another civil war.

THE LEOPARD KINGDOM
Shozaka II, King of Leopards
DIPLOMACY: none
This latest Kongo breakaway state (The fourth I believe) controls Yoruba as the homeland plus pacified Togo, Ife and Benin. Shozaka died in 1479 having ruled for one year. His son Shozaka II became king thereafter.

THE GREAT ZIMBABWE
Neshavam, Chief of Zimbabwe, Holder of the Five Twin Jackal Chair
DIPLOMACY: Brava(hs), Lamu(hs)
Benlos lacked a son so he adopted his best lieutenant Ngow as his son in law. Sadly, Ngow died two years before Benlos. Ngow's family claimed royal privilage after that, led by Ngow's uncle Neshavam. There were some who believed that Neshavam had no place as the king. Of these, Kilwa, Melela, Mombassa, Ruvama and Sakalava rebelled. Gar and Ittodad's tour of the pagan north led to disaster. Ittodad was captured aznd sacrificed to the geyser god by the angry Bravans. Gar escaped the wrath of his natives. Three new cities were built: Sion in Banhine, Shalozar at Matopos, Zumbo in Zambia.

THE KRAKAS KINGDOM OF AETHIOPIA
Gobbu VI, Alem 'Elum, King of Aethiopia
DIPLOMACY: none
The Copts stepped up their expansion plans and sent ships all over the place. Caleb Jai with a cavalry force, mostly, attacked the region of Mogadishu. They sought to destroy the ancient Sakalavan city of Pundaport but the ruins were grown over with grass. The land was attacked and subjected to military conversion. As for Merintha, far to the south of Pizza Island (main export, vanilla), that was Jivas' job but he had some bad breaks. He could only fit 12,500 infantry on the 50 warships he was assigned to. In the fight, he was outnumbered by the aboriginals and they mauled his army so badly that he had to withdraw. The Abyssinians assisted in the Saxon civil war - on the side on Henry IV - along with everyone else. Their fleet of 20 warships sailed to blockade Sete but the Romans had already taken it. Money was sent to the Helveticans to be funneled to the Red Capes.
Ain Farah was colonized to become a (2/5) region. Two explorers, Pter and S'nolli explored the Indian Ocean sea currents. Ptar lost some ships exploring the West Wind Drift from south of Cape Vohimena (Pizza Island). He made landfall at a strange, desert continent on the other side. He resupplied his ships with water and game. S'nolli's ships fell to mutiny and were never seen again.

THE SULTANATE OF IEST
Ahmed al Kaffiyin, Sultan of Mahidia
DIPLOMACY: Madina(nt)
The Iesti supported their infidel Saxon friends with cash and a naval action, while the population groaned. Halal and Mustafa with 100 frigates patrolled the Bay of Biscay but were quickly discouraged by the lack of action. They retired to Morocco and were hailed as goats. The rebuilding of Mecca helped establish ties with Madina. A ctiy was built on the Cape Verdes called Hawran. A garrison was left on the Muhit Bahric (Atlantic Ocean) island to ensure Africa's claim. Khalid al Ahmed visited the fabulous but heathen city of Araket along the Equatorial Sea. They were beguiled with his gifts and strange appearance. He safely got back to Morocco charting a passage home by way of Bermuda.

THE ALMORAVID EMIRATE OF ANDALUSIA
Istafa (III) ibn Ruda, Emir as Sevilla
DIPLOMACY: Takrur(nt), Gambia(f), Senegal(a)
Al Lahir and a navy of about 271 warships and 40 caravels anchored themselves just outside cannon range at Rouen to show solidarity with their non Muslim Red Cape Saxon brothers in that civil war, an obvious symtom of inferior culture and religion. Rouen was blockaded. A much smaller force landed on Bioko island in the Bight of Benin and left some troops. A port city was placed in Gambia facing the Gambia Sea. It was called Banjul. All the missionaries sent to Susu were flayed alive and were fed to carrion animals.

THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF ENGLAND
Edwin, King of England
DIPLOMACY: none
The English got jittery with all those Muslim fleets roving in the English Channel. Prince Offa died at the age of 27 from being bitten by a diseased fox. Ipswich and Hull grew to 9 Gpv each. London is now 10 Gpv strong.

THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA -Red Faction
Henry IV, Excommunicate, King of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of Blois
DIPLOMACY: none
The Red Capes got help from almost all their neighbors, even from nations that had no business being there. The Helveticans sent much gold the war chest which they collected from Muslims and Oriental Christians. An army was raised at La Rochelle and put under the control of Zino Gauguin. The 20,000 elite cavalry rode through Aquitaine to liberate Armagnac and Languedoc from the Touraine Intendancy (which had been independent from 1477-79). At Languedoc, the 'Roman Expeditionary Force' (REF) of 100,000 cavalry, 100,000 infantry had landed and accompanied General Gaugin. Languedoc breathed a sigh of relief for these foreign devils kept taking the crops and the women too. In the north, the Steward, Haven Rodel, took 15,000 elite cavalry and 5000 regular cavalry to regain Flanders. They evaded through Ponthieu where the Blue Hat army stayed in their barracks. While that happened the Helveticans of 50,000 knights, 30 siege artillery, 100 field artillery, 25,000 infantry and the Thaerians with 50,000 elite and regular cavalry and 40,000 elite and regular infantry crossed the Rhine and marched through Lorraine, Vermandois, Ile de France to Maine. They waited for Gauguin and the REF which regained Catalonia, passed through Lyonnais, attacked the Intendency lands of Orleans and Anjou defeating La Grange and his 20,000 men. They all got together late in 1479 and drove through Normandy to defeat the Red Hats in Ponthieu.

THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA -Blue Faction
The Blue Hats army 22,500 elite cavalry, 22,500 regular cavalry plus 20 artillery were overwhelmed by a total army of over 400,000. Half of these were Greeks which was unsavory to the populace. The Red Faction reabsorbed the government, university and treasury of the Blues. The Blue partisans and the Touraine leaders were executed.

THE LIGURIAN KINGDOM OF ITALY
Cristo, Rex Lagobardum
DIPLOMACY: Provence(a), Savoy(t)
Prince Cristo's address to the Genoan College of Cardinals:
"Holy fathers of the Church, I come before you today because it is my sad duty to bring this information before you. I must report that the "elected Pope Paul II" is in league with Satan and has committed heresies most foul, as have several of his predecessors. I have proof of this in the form of manuscripts and missives, written by Paul II in his own hand, which justify the actions of Liguria, Helvetica and Saxony.
"The disappearance of people throughout Liguria from 1404 thru 1408 is directly attributed to Pope Benedict X and his Black Tower allies. Their search for demonic powers and amulets unleashed the Genoese Plague of 1409 which swept through many cities of Italy, France and others, causing untold numbers to die a horrible death. This all to assuage their lust for unworldly powers which only Satan can provide.
"Again their hand was shown when Crete was overrun with demons in 1442. The destruction was terrible, when many demons, vampires, witchs and other unmentionable creatures were brought forth to do the antichrist's bidding. The demonic destruction of the population of Malta in 1450 was a further demonstration of Satanic powers that these masters of Darkness were learning and perfecting.
"More recently, plagues were brought to the New World shortly after agents of the Pope of that time landed there and began to practice their unholy rites. Most recently, agents of Paul II report "all was well" when Gleb, King of Baltica, consorted with witches so that his son, Josip, could at last sire children. Other manuscripts show that John of Cavrea, Count of Blois, did conspire with agents of the Black Tower and Paul II to assassinate Xander, so that they could gain control of the Papacy and bring ruin upon the earth, turning people away from the true Church, and lead them all into Darkness as servants of Satan."

Now that the world knew that the Church was linked to dealings with demonic forces, King Arturo set about the work to reform the Church. He formed a sympathetic priest, who became Sixtus IV. He was to be given all the cathedrals and monasteries in Ligurian territory but there was no organized effort to seize them outside of Genoa so the Pauline Papacy was able to assert its authority at Rome. Prince Cristo's job was simple. He took the army of 100 artillery, 19,000 cavalry, 45 siege engines, 9 siege artillery and 12,500 infantry to Liguria to guard Genoa. Gulio Dulio with a navy and some troops on board sailed to the island of Madeira and pacified the island.
In 1479, about 15,500 cavalry and 52,500 infantry -recruited from the monasteries- were armed and equipped at Rome. These fighters were led by Cardinal O'Connor. They gained control of Latium as well as Rome itself. In 1480, Arturo died. He was 80. Cristo became king but he had lacked heirs and promised succession to pass to his son-in-law, the Duke of Provence. There were many who hated the idea of including the famed explorer Raphael Tilitia. Tilitia left Cristo's court to become a consultant for Arch-Cardinal Hoban at Rome.

THE MERCANTILE AND BANKING COMPANY OF LIVORNO (Medici)
Natani d'Medici
DIPLOMACY: none
The Medici supported the Sixtian Papacy and sent money to them. Their direct influence delivered Livorno to the new Pope. Ricardo died. Natani was a weak prime.

THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH -Pauline
Innocent III, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ, Servant of the Servants of God, Supreme Pontiff on the Universal Church
DIPLOMACY: none
The Pope remained imprisoned in Genoa while their gaolers elevated a fake Pope and even stole the name of Sixtus IV which was intended for Arch-Cardinal Hoban. The cathedrals in Genoa and Livorno plus all the sites in Helvetica (except Wyst) have gone over to the rival Papacy. It was expected that Thaerian and Saxon churches would follow suit. However the Ligurian failure to secure Rome allowed Hoban and his followers to seize the city politically and then the entire land of Latium. News later came of Paul II's hateful immolation by the excommunicates. Hoban became the next Pope and chose the name Innocent III. He swore to remove the influence of the Moors in Europe who had clearly weakened the faith.

THE ROMAN CATHOLIC APOSTOLIC CHURCH Sixtian
Sixtus IV, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ, Servant of the Servants of God, Supreme Pontiff on the Universal Church
DIPLOMACY: none
The Sixtian Papacy lifted the excommunications against Arturo & Cristo of Liguria, Henry IV of Saxony and Herr Kemmelstim of Helvetica. An Inquisition was held, both the new Pope Sixtus IV and Grand Inquisitor, Bishop Tomas de Torquemada to determine the failures of the previous church. Paul II was then tried and was burnt at the stake for his misdeeds.

To add insult to injury, a great bounty was shipped to a Frankish faction. The Romanoi aristocracy considered Isaac II to be a pawn of barbarians. They would not understand any military action unless it was one of conquest. Lycis Melaion agreed with them and tried to seize command of the Roman Expeditionary Force from Justin Kolos.
