THE SUPREMACY OF TOGO
Elembouko II, Supreme Oba of Togo
DIPLOMACY: none
Elembouko led 27,000 infantry and 5000 sappers to Togo in a valiant effort
to liberate the region. The Bakongo put up a solid defense with a reaction force
of 15,000 spearmen and a garrison of 33,500 infantry and 75 ballistae. The Togo
King lost 19,500 men in battle while the occupiers only lost 12,000. Two years
later, the Bakongo launched an attack but only with 15,000 warriors. Now the
Togo army slightly ounumbered these invaders (10,500 mostly Mossi infantry
and 500 sappers). The maruaders inflicted heavy losses onto the remaining
Togo army and slew King Elembouko. The rest (10,000 men) withdrew to
Mudhold and its 30 foot walls. Since the attack had to be successful, the
Bakongo attempted to assault but all the invaders died from arrow wounds. The
new King Elembouko II swore that he'll get even.
THE BANTU KINGS OF KONGO
Mbelini, King of Ba-Congo
DIPLOMACY: none
King Mbelini remained a hostage in a Togo jail in Accra. The council elder
Mandela ruled instead. Both Koshaka and Shozaka were involved in battles
against the Togonad. Koshaka successfully defended Togo region. Shozaka
failed to take Akan for he chose to bring only some of the garrison. Okoyo was
colonized to (1/8) by the former afro-pagan residents to Libramb.

THE GREAT ZIMBABWE
Benlos, Chief of Zimbabwe, Holder of the Five Twin Jackal Chair
DIPLOMACY: none
Benlos did what he knew best - to lie around in luxurious splendor, playing
backgammon and winning every time.
THE KRAKAS KINGDOM OF AETHIOPIA
Gobbu VI, Alem 'Elum, King of Aethiopia
DIPLOMACY: none
Mech really felt his oats and decided to attack the barbaric Sidamo with only
5500 cavalry. He was lucky and crushed the primitives but was unable to
successfully execute a military conversion for lack of troops. He withdrew to
Kefa and died of a rare skin disease. In Scebeli the new port city of Maureg was
developed. It was connected to Hafun by road royal.
Due to the greater hull capacity of the new kinds of ships, the Nile beyond
Kerma was unnavigable. Maybe that old rusted chain can be taken down. Ain
Farah cultivated.
THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF ENGLAND
Edwin, King of England
DIPLOMACY: Highlands(ne)
The English guarded themselves and kept out of Church politics. But Edwin
could not help but crack a smile when he heard of the problems across the
English Channel. Falkirk grew to 5 Gpv. Hull is now 8 Gpv. London became 9
Gpv.
THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA -Red Faction
Henry IV, Excommunicate, King of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of
Blois
DIPLOMACY: none
The whole of Saxonia fell into a state of turmoil soon after Henry IV was
excommunicated in 1473. The series of summary executions and
assassinations - some of these foreign instigated - caused a great uproar in the
land. The mass of Saxonia's population began to wear blue hats, representing
their solidarity with the Pope to throw out the bum King. Aquitaine, Aragon,
Asturias, Auvergne, Brittany, Gascony, Orkney and Castille rebelled outright.
Henry himself was set upon by his own lieutenant La Grange who took half the
army and attacked. Henry barely escaped the vicious attack and withdrew to
Poitou. Many of the army mutineers were poisoned but Anjou was lost to the
revolution. A second battle took place at Ile de France. Haven Rodel, Henry's
loyal chancellor, defeated the revolt of Stefan Bala'ot forcing them to flee to
Ponthieu. The royal palace at Rouen had fallen to dyanstic and court intregue.
Henry's IV uncle, John of Cavrea, declared himself king and swore to uphold hte
sanctity of the Holy Mother Church. Henry of Mello, John's brother and also
excommunicated Henry's uncle opposed this but was outmanoevered by
General Gentle Saier who executed Henry of Mello and ensured the coronation
(as it were) of John. As things began to settle down in 1474, there were two
rebel factions that had taken control of much of the country. The rest: Poitou,
Maine, Normandy, Ile de France, Vermandois and Lorraine were retained under
Henry's control though the populace was in a state of discontent about their
king. Much of the government, the university and the treasure fell into the lap of
the other king John and his supporters.
THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA -Blue Faction
John of Cavrea, King of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of Blois
THE INTENDANCY OF TOURAINE
La Grange Lionel, Intendant of Tours
DIPLOMACY: none
John and his government got control of Ponthieu and Flanders. They were
called the Blue Faction because they all wore these ridiculous blue hats. The
other guys were called the Red Faction because they wore red capes like their
flamboyant king. The allied Intendancy of Touraine has direct control of Anjou
and Orleans. Lyonnais, Languedoc, Armagnac and Catalonia are held in trust
for King John. The alliance is unstable.
THE LIGURIAN KINGDOM OF ITALY
Arturo, Excommunicate, Rex Lagobardum
DIPLOMACY: none
Roy Arturo suffered from his excommunication but not enough to cause the
unrest that Saxonia had endured. Still, the Azores, Bermuda, Madeira, Savoy,
Swabia and Switzerland rebelled. Ciboney's fate was uncertain for some years.
About 4 in 10 of the army that had marched to Rome's gates switched sides
while Latium itself fell into civil disorder. Prince Cristo (also excommunicated)
and Giovanni Szarra plus Medici, Helvetican auxillieries fought the turncoat
generals Verut and Otheno and the Pope kissers and severly trashed them.
Verut was captured (he was executed). Otheno withdrew to Rome. There was
no need for a bloody assault or siege just a formal siege and bombardment would
do. After about a year of that elements inside Rome uprose and let the Prince's
army in. Pope Paul II was put in fetters and was mule-carted to Genoa. The
Papal library was looted and divided between the Ligurian, Medici and Helvetican
camps. A strong box of 700 GP was also found. This was Otheno's purse. The
Ligurians took a double share in lieu of the Saxons who could not make it. In
1475, Cristo regained control of Campania.
No decision was made to put in a new Pope. The college of cardinals used
this vacuum of decision to escape Rome. Raphael in Tilitia returned to Genoa in
1476 from Ciboney. He related that Mercurio conspired with Haley and took the
island as his own. The Ligurian populace was unsetteld and lacked the
confidence they once had of their king. They have many times expressed a
desire for Paul II to be freed.
THE MERCANTILE AND BANKING COMPANY OF
LIVORNO (Medici)
Ricardo d'Medici
DIPLOMACY: none
In all this unrest, only one factor (Bari) and one branch office (Genoa) was
built. The militia made a good account of themselves fighting the Papists.
THE ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH
Paul II, Bishop of Rome, Vicar of Christ, Servant of the Servants of God,
Supreme Pontiff on the Universal Church
DIPLOMACY: none
Early in 1473, Xander was assassinated by Arab extremists. The Church
had long suspected the Saxon Crown of its saracen ties. Therefore because of
that and because of the violence they have inflicted on the Church, Paul II
proclaimed that Henry of Saxonia, Arturo and Cristo of Liguria and Geralt
Kemmelsim of Helvetica be excommunicated from the Church. The Bull caused
much consternation in Saxonia and Liguria. More troops and generals flocked to
the Papal banner to fight their apostate brothers. They were too much. 19,000
cavalry, 100 gun pieces, 4500 engineers, 9 great mortars, 60,000 foot troops,
20,000 condottieri with some horse and cannon, 6000 Helvetican cavalry,
15,000 Swiss elite pikemen, 5500 Tuscan professional guards and 15,000
Medici hirelings defeated on the field 13,000 cavalry, 75 guns, 3000 pioneers, 6
great guns, 40,000 infantry, 12,500 ex-Saxon infantry and 15,000 ex-Saxon
engineers and wiped them out. Paul II prayed for a miracle but he was destined
to suffer imprisonment at the hands of the blasphemers. Rome's government
collapsed but not fatally so for the Ligurians had failed to prevail upon the
College of Cardinals and elect a replacement Pope. But due to the capture of
Rome and effect of excommunication, Papal influence in Christendom declined.
Monasteries were built in Carinthia, Barcelona and the Shetlands. Abbeys were
set in Hesse and Lodz. A Cathedral was blessed in Anglia. Warfare and lack of
Papal control caused the rest to be lost.
