Chancellors: All Imperial governments must have a chancellor present in the capital city some time during the turn to ensure smooth government. Any imperial government without a chancellor may suffer an increase chance of dynastic unrest.
Mercantile Combine Notes: I now have automated the Mercantile Combines's NMV to be 5% higher than normal nations. I have fixed a little problem in the MerCom's ITV calculation which will give MerCom's a greater income through trade.
* I have knocked down Religious Empires NMV down 5% to balance things out.
* To accomodate the MerCom's ability to handle trade routes for other nations, I have added three new Trade Route Codes.
Land Trade MerCom (ltm): If you are using a Mercom to handle your land trade, this is the code I will use. If the trade partner does not border your nation, I will count the number of regions away from your border to their border. If this number exceeds your trade range, you 'll get less income. Mercom handled land trade is multiplied by .85, which is slightly better than Land Trade Open Terrain (lto). The Mercom gain as their fee for their troubles, a bonus of 30% of what you are making from this route (This approximates the difference between the MerCom's NMV and your NMV). To open such a route, the Mercom must have at least a branch office in your territory and a branch office in the prospective trade partner's office. This trade can be interdicted by intervening countries or armies.
Land Trade Caravan (ltc): If you are on the recieving end of a Land Trade by MerCom route (ltm) and have not made a contract with a MerCom to handle your route, your route will be considered ltc if you do not border the trade partner nor can trade with them in any other way. This kind of route is multiplied by .5 and will be reduced if the number of regions your partner is exceeds your trade range.
* If you have any region along the Silk Road, you can trade with non-contigious nations also on the Silk Road with ltc.
MerCom Sea Trade (mst): This is a MerCom handled sea route. It is like Normal Sea Trade (nst) in all ways except the Mercantile Combine handles the arrangements. Using Mercantile Combines can allow nations to reach distant overseas trade partners. Like Land Trade MerCom (ltm), the Combine will receive a bonus of 30% of the money you make. MerComs require a branch office at your port if you desire their services to trade.
* If you want to open up a MerCom, this is the time to jump in!

Mercs: 10mi, 10mw
THE GREAT ZIMBABWE
Benlos, Chief of Zimbabwe, Holder of the Five Twin Jackal Chair
DIPLOMACY: none
Benlos was too lazy to do his orders when he gets his results. He cannot assume that Jehovah would show up in his palace every Friday at 7:00 PM to have a few beers. A bad famine hit. Several cities suffered. Lesser Zimbabwe fell to 7 Gpv and Great Zimbabwe has dropped to 8 Gpv. Softsmelt is now a 0 Gpv town. Mopizza lost 2 gold levels. Jackal in Phalaborwa no longer exists.

THE KRAKAS KINGDOM OF AETHIOPIA
Gobbu V, Alem Kitar, King of Aethiopia
DIPLOMACY: none
The new Lion had little toleration for the rebellion in the west and made careful plans to crush them like the others before them. This was done by Mech, Itor and Jivas - the three most loyal lieutenants. They took 7000 armored horsemen and 30,000 light cavalry and regained Darfur, occupied Darfur and reasserted Coptic control of Salamat. At Kreda did they meet Dalani's army and defeated the false troopers in battle. Kreda needed a new Coptic regime to prevent it from backsliding to heathen beliefs. That was completed by 1460. THE NORMAN KINGDOM OF SAXONIA
Henry IV, King of the Saxons and of the Normans, Count of Blois
DIPLOMACY: Orkney(fa)
Work to build an outpost city on the Orkneys began. It would be of great use someday. A royal road was completed going from Rouen to Bruges to Soissons then to Cologne. Travel in the north would be much safer. Cardinal Fedred was told to take a hike.
THE LIGURIAN KINGDOM OF ITALY
Arturo, Rex Lagobardum
DIPLOMACY: Susu(c), Azores(c), Bermuda(c), Ciboney(c)
The Liguri expected some sort of a war, but the bleeding Moors weren't as aggressive as they were in alternative realities. So the waters were safe enough to send Raphael Tilita out to Madeira to plop a conduit city (Arteria) upon those rocks. Tilita knew that aquicker route must exist to San Andreas Land. He was given permission to navigate the open waters of the Ocean Sea. He sailed along the Mid Atlantic Current and made landfall at Ciboney in 1458. The island was claimed in the name of King Arturo. From the Leeward Sea, Tilitafound a way back by way of Bermuda. He made it to the Azores in 1459 and then went to the Sea of Portugal. He had his maps copied at Arteria in 1460. Raphael Tilita became famous all over Europe as an explorer and adventurer.
Isolated by blockade and lack of food, Aswan rebelled. Tomaso was given lots of money and was sent to Susu to try and bribe the locals to become Ligurian clients. The huge bribe guaranteed that Susu would not talk to anyone else about protection. Romeo wasted some time in Swabia (kissing soldiers, the rumors told) before he went off to distant Shetland. Neutral Chernigov was subdued in a relaxed mode. The city of Chernigov surrendered when they saw the burly army. The King made it home by the winter's start of 1460.
