DIPLOMACY: none
Ahmed took the lest fleet of 15 heavy galleys and 191 warships and surrounded the island of Malta. The Sultan demanded the Kiffans surrender. It was hoped that traitors would stir up the population into mutiny. Not so. As the Maltese were besieged, cut off from the outside world, terrible things began to happen. In April of 1450, skull faced fire demons began to terrorize the island astride their metal horses which spat thunder, lightning and noxious smokes. Within a few days, the whole island of Malta burned in unearthly flames. Ahmed, his navy and much of the Maltese fishing ships backed off from the brimstone hail and miasma. Months later, scout ships bravely approched the rocky island. So scarred was Malta's surface that not even its ruins could be seen. The island was covered in black and gray soot. Nothing living could be seen. It was like Crete, only worse. What diabolic force could be at work here? Where will these devils appear next?
