Anglo-Saxtons

Raymond II, The Last True English

Diplomacy: Didn't matter...

With the Danes, and Norse raiding them for the last 15 year, when the Danes marched into London, there were only a few boys defending the walls.

Danes

Hafdan the Black, Raider from the North, Crusher of Brittian

DIPLOMACY: None

"Odin's beard, Thorfin, drink up and rejoice! The head of Sean MacGregor stands before us on a pike! Why are all of you not rejoicing?!? 'My Lord', a brave squire spoke up, 'Njarl has not returned from his mission in London, rumor has it that he is a prisoner there.' WHAT?!?, yelled Hafdan, I sent him there on a mission of peace and this is what I get??? " Hafdan then marched into London with 20,000 men of various troops, and passified Sussex, and London, and rescuing loyal Njarl during his beheading. Elsewhere orders were sent out to grant the Lowlands its independence, as long as they promised to be good.

Norse

Regent Ragnar Tyrson

DIPLOMACY:None

The Norse, in a gesture of peace, let the captured Bishop of the Eastern Orthodox go free, while they kicked around this idea of the guy named Jesus. Raids were ordered to find a jewel as beautiful as Ragnar's wife, they looked in Wessex, Brittany, Munster, Lowlands, and Straitclyde to no avail, but in Munster they found a good stout ale, and brought that back as well.

Sweeds

Ragnar

DIPLOMACY: None

In early 866 Thor was found dead in his bed, most think he died of natural reasons, but others say that his window was broken. With Ragnar being too young to rule, there was much arguing, and even some bloodshed as to who should lead, Hagar sized control of some of the royal guard, and tried to kill the young Heir, but is a stroke of pure luck, Ragnar was out courting a bar wench, when Hagar entered his room. Ragnar had him killed when he came of age.

Western Franks

Charles the Bald

DIPLOMACY: None

Charles, bored to death by 15 years of peace, and somewhat afraid that the military might have gotten rusty came up with a solution to this problem. He ordered a massive attack on the helpless nation of Burgandy. With 12,000 Cavalry, and 5,000 Footmen, his army stormed Burgandy, and took all the gold in their Treasury, causing the collapse of the government. Other forces were ordered to watch over the Eastern Franks, incase some army came, noone ever did, they probably were watching the making of the first Italian Sandwich. When Rome fell and the Pope converted, by his own free will, Charles, like the good god fearing man he is, followed him, and is now Eastern Orthodox.

Umyyads

Abu'l Hassan, Destroyer of Christians

DIPLOMACY: Catalonia (EA), Gabel-al-Tarik (C), Portugal (EA),Galacia (T)

Abu'l Hassan received a messenger from the Eastern Franks, asking them if they would like to help cripple the Roman Church, while weary of the followers of Christ, the plan was sound, and if he could weaken both churches at one time, all the more good. A massive fleet moved from Liguaria to Sicily sinking all Italian boats, and even went as far as entering port cites to sink the boats there, on their way home, they paided off the Western Franks to turn a blind eye to the actions of the last 5 years.

Burgandy

Unnamed

When the forces of the Western Franks came down and took their gold, the government collapsed.

Eastern Franks

Unnamed, The last Roman Catholic Kingdom, Heir to the Holy Roman Empire

DIPLOMACY :Holstien (FA), Saxony (FA)

Balteer spent the 5 years at home, looking to the East, waiting form some army to come, it never did, people think he is either paranoid, or knows a horde is coming this way, from way over in the China area. When the Pope converted, The young Unnamed followed what remains of the Catholic Church, rumor has it that the new Roman Pope is living in fear somewhere in Eastern Frank's domain.

Moravia

Max

DIPLOMACY:Slovakia (T)

Max had plans, and they were good plans, that could have, and down right should have worked. After extensive diplomacy Bakony and Carinthia, and having them join, the worst thing happened, Rome fell. Max saw the writing on the wall, and followed the Old Pope over to the just, and right Eastern Orthodox. Unfortunately many of his leaders disagreed, the nation Austria was formed.

Austria

Unnamed

DIPLOMACY: Bohemia (F), Austria (HM), Carinthia (T)

When Moravia became Eastern Orthodox, a splintered nation of Roman Catholic's formed after the fall out. There are rumors that they may ask to join the Eastern Franks, but for now enjoy their freedom from the evil Anti-Pope.

Bulgar Empire

Vlad I

DIPLOMACY: None

In 866AD the long awaited marriage between Heir Vlad II, and a Byzantine Princess, named Jeni, finally happened. After the wedding was finished, Vlad II asked his new bride where she would like to spend their honeymoon, and she responded 'I have always wanted to see Venice'. This sparked a thought in Vlad I's mind, since he had no idea what to get them for a present. All troops were gathered up in Croatia, a total 27,500 men of just about all weapons and armor. There he gave a speech 'Men! As you know my son just married the beautiful Jeni, of Constantinople. She said that she would like to see Venice, so lets give her the city!' With that, the army of the Bulgar's stormed into Verona, early crushing the small army left there, and then took the city in 868AD. No-one has seen Vlad II, or Jeni, but their muffled sounds can be heard just about every night.

Holy Roman Church

Unnamed

DIPLOMACY:Savoy (AB)

Late in 866 the Unnamed Pope was standing on a deck, giving silent prayer of thanks as the morning sun rose over the mountains, then his eyes saw something from the west. A large amounts of boats were on the horizon, not uncommon, many traders came to Rome, but above them, in the sky there was a golden cross, shimmering in the clouds. After a few minutes he realized that it was exactly like the cross that Constinse described seeing, before he converted to Christianity. There was much blood shed between the Italians and the Byzantine that day, in the end, Rome fell to the sheer numbers and more prepared Byzantine. Now he realized what the sign meant, that God favored the Eastern Orthodox. With that, the Pope tried to make other members of the Church convert with him, they didn't agree, and excommunicate him, he toured lands converting all he could, until someone killed him in 869. The new Pope, took his clergy and left Rome to find a place to call home.

Italy

King Vittiorid

DIPLOMACY: None

Things did not go good for Vittorid. It started in 866AD when Rome fell to the Byzanties, and he was wounded protecting the Roman Catholic Church. In 867 his remaining troops finally got to Rome, only to find even more Byzantinies waiting for them. Coastal areas all along the Tyrhennian Sea were raided, and ships were sank by the Umyyads fleet, who strangely enough did not touch anything belonging to the Byzantine. Also in 867 the Bulgars stormed into Verona, and Venice. If this wasn't enough to make a King want to cry, a second wave of Byzantine landed in Apulia, passified it, and then marched into Calabria. On the bright side, he is alive, and still swears loyalty to the Roman Church, who has left Italy.

Byzantine Empire

Emperor Basil I

DIPLOMACY:Crete (F), Bithnia (F)

During the wedding of Vlad the Second, and Jeni, Princess of Byzantine, Basil I presented the mystical Shroud of Christ to the Eastern Orthodox Primate, many gasps of shock and surprise, escaped the onlookers. Then Basil I decided he needed to expand his empire, now that the north was protected. 'Operation Grand Slam' was sent into motion. With 17,500 troops Alexius was sent to Rome, to prove himself worthy to the thrown of the mighty Empire. He proved himself very worthy of the title, and thrown. With Rome firmly under his thumb, the transports were sent to Thessaloniki to bring the next wave, 'Operation Stub the Toe of Italy' was the name. With another 17,500 troops, Apullia and Calabria were easily passified. In 869 a scribe approached Basil I 'Sir, why did we capture Rome?', ' Why to crush the Capital of those Italian dogs, of course!', 'Umm, sire, that was the Roman Catholic's Capital, the Italian is elsewhere, remember, the Paple States?', 'Oh, your right...'

Eastern Orthodox

Father Basil, Converter of the Step's

DIPLOMACY: Pecheng (AB), Attica (AB), Konya (AB)

Alexander was released by the Norse men, it seems that they might convert in the future, but who knows. Archbishop John, wasn't so lucky, after converting Khazakh, Kulsary, Kama Bulgar, and Kazam, he made a major mistake in Uze. So outraged was the tribe that they decided to get ready to move, to find out from Father Basil himself what this Christianity is. While John was not killed, he is in shackles and is near the front of the new hoard. Things to the west looks much better. With the fall of Rome, and the Old Pope converting, many areas, and nations, now look to Father Basil for guidance. There is some concern that the Church may not be able to control all the out laying Cathedrals, and Abbeys.
