Liang - [
Lo Zhuang, General of the Heavens, Destroyer of Steps, King of China
Diplomacy: Anhui (NE)

Rumors of strange things reached Lo Zhuang’s ear, so he sent Minister Liu Weikang out to look around for anything out of the ordinary in the region of Honan. While he was spending the night in a tavern somehow his room became engulfed in a ranging inferno, but the fire never left the room. Nothing in his room survived, in fact not even ashes were left of his body.

In order to try to recover from the civil war Prince Lo Mein was sent to Anhui to try to bury the hatchet. He managed minor success until he died from choking to death on a chicken bone, causing the mission to stall.

Royal Roads were installed from Anhui to Taiping to Chekiang to Kiangsi. As well as a segment from Chekiang to Fukien

A new port city was founded in Jiangxi named Nanchang, Shanghai in Taiping, and a normal city of Yingtan in Kiangsi.

Szechwan - [
Mashi King of the noble Szechwan Empire.
Diplomacy: None

Massive rejuvenation in  Szechwan as everyone recovers from the Black Death and the King chooses an official Heir. The celebrations were somewhat marred when, against all written traditions, the Holiest of Holy Men refused to give the customary predictions on the Heir's rule. They adopted an immediate vow of silence and retreated to their monasteries for the foreseeable future. No amount of urging or threatened malice from the King could persuade them otherwise.

 Yamato - {
Oda Shotoku, Light of Heaven, Ruler of the Sea’s, Bearer of the Sword
Diplomacy: None

In celebration of his 3 daughters, there were many statues built in the King's likeness all around his great kingdom. After a tragic accident ended the life of the relatively young General, the Royal Navy was pleased to appoint a new Major General who treated the men to new maneuvers. This, of course, led to a much more efficient, if sleep deprived, Navy.

Gurjara - ¤
Empress Yoorvasi, Ruler of the Ganges, Heir to the Gupta Empire, Protector of Knowledge
Diplomacy: None

The cries coming from Manamar chamber woke up everyone. By the time the guards smashed into the room Manamar was found dead with a knife in the heart, the assassin was never found. The next day Sukjit Harmamar took control of the city guard and imprisoned the heir, Entilaka under the suspicion on murdering his father. Of course Entilaka had an 'accident' and fell down the steps, cracking his head open later that week before. With the only royal family member left being the young Princess Yoorvasi, Sukjit forced her to marry him and he took over. Three months later he died after eating some bad cheese one night, leaving the Princess Yoorvasi pregnant and in charge of the mighty Empire.

Buyid Caliphate v
Daud ibn Ahmed, Caliphate of Alan
Diplomacy: None

Not much happened.

<See Buryat and Byzantines>

Buryat - n
<Someone>, Terror of the Sunni’s, Sacker of Baghdad, Get of Satan, King of the year
Diplomacy: None

Slave revolts, two Kings being killed, and lots of blood, yep, nothing new here.

Moslem's against the Buryat

Or the bloodshed continues…

Well since everyone enjoyed the bloodshed over the past five years they all desided to do it again.

Opening moves:

Inside Baghdad Ibrahim and the Ally from Vasi and the Mujanhadin Leader Muhammad sat with 4,400 Cavalry, 1,600 Light Infamtry, 2,000 Infantry, and 4,000 Jihad infantry. Outside the city sat Ogozud and Gadedamu with 39,800 Cavalry, 10,6000 Heavy Cavalry, 3,000 Elite Cavalry, and 1,400 Elite light Cavalry

April 1015

Assassins manage to sneak into Baghdad and kill the Allied leader from Vasi.

Outside, King Ogozud is found dead in his tent with a horse's head next to him. His brother Guzudun is promoted to King, no one desided to make an issue over the changing of kings this time, much to everyone's surprise.

While the Buryat's continue the passive siege with the fresh raised troops, they have very limited success with no boats to stem the flow of fish and supplies that way.

May 1015

All the slaves are freed in Baghdad from their evil Coptic masters and are equipped with weapons and armors, most join with Muhammad and his holy freedom fighters.

All captured government agents of the Buryt are killed by stoning to death from the freed slaves.

July 1015

Moslem slaves in Diyala rise up against their Coptic overlords, thousands of Moslem's and Coptic's die in the ensuing moths of bloodshed.

September 1015

Moslem slaves in Hahmar, equipped and trained by a mysterious man named Boris revolt against their masters, hundreds of fields burned to a crisp. Any Christian caught walking alone is brutally murdered

In Jordan the Sunni Bishop al-Dalal Khalid (BA45) who lead the holy troops to recapture and re-built Mecca arrives with 4,600 Heavy Cavalry, and 8,000 Infantry. Once there he and his men start preaching to the Moslem's there to raise again those who would keep there brothers in chains.

October 1015

Gadedamu had enough. The siege was having no effect with the damndable rivers providing clear and steady access to the city. His forces moved south to take care of the slave revolt in Hahmar

April 1016

Slave revolt if put down in Hahmar, most slaves were either killed, or fled

May 1016

Bishop al-Dala Khalid and his men (with 6,500 more ex-slaves turned into Light Infantry) moved into Syria, there they found the slaves were already embattled with there masters, being good Moslems they lent aid.

Mecca moved into Jordan and began to try to woo the freed Moslem into there nation.

Slaves in Mosul tried to revolt, but the local lords but them down like the rabid dogs they are

June 1016

Slaves in Mesopotamia begin to revolt when there masters returned from Hahnar and quash the rebellion before it really gained any steam

July 1016

Buryat sends part of her troops to deal with the uninvited guests in Syria

August 1016

Bishop al-Dala Khalid and Gadedamu ran into each other in Palmyra, just before the forces collided Gadedamu took an arrow, and left him in the medics tent for the whole engagement.

Bishop al-Dala Khalid had 4,600 Heavy Cavalry, 8,000 Infantry, 15,000 Light Infantry (Ex-slaves) while Gadedamu's forces consisted of 39,800 Cavalry. Al-Dala Khalid knew that with Gadedamu being off the field was his only chance to secure victory, and he used milked it for all he was worth. Using gorillia warfare type tactics, he slit his forces into small independent groups, roving the land close enough to pull in other small groups, but never giving the Buryat a stand up fight. By the time the Buryat retreated to the region of Mosul they had lost over 20,600 cavalry, while al-Dala Khalid only lost 6,000.

October 1016

Bishop al-Dala Khalid's forces were again attacked, but by the whole Buryat army this time. All 20,000 Heavy Infantry, 10,000 Light Inexperience Infantry, 1,400 Elite light Cavalry, 7,500 Elite Cavalry, 19,200 Battle weary Cavalry and 10,600 Heavy Cavalry of it came down the road for battle.

By far the only leader who had any clue on how to manage a battle was al-Dala Khalid, but being outnumbered by that many, he really had very little chance. In the battle Gadedamu did from being tossed, and then trampled by his horse.

Slaves turned troops wondered into Baghdad from Hahmar and Abadan.

May 1017

Ogozud lead the remaining Buryat forces to Baghdad where he began his fruitless siege.

Europe
Troops: 5XI, 2XC, 25W
Aqrs: c4, i4, s4, w4
Leaders: Sven Jarlson (M774)

In some tavern, somewhere in some city near you…

"So we are sent out on this quest, but we have no location on where it is?" a grisly looking man muttered, yet again.

"I believe I did say that, yes. Some days you sound like a woman you know that Olie?" the clean cut young man said, no longer even attempting to keep the frustration out of his voice. Every night for the last month Olie has complained about this sacred quest.

"Perhaps, but at least I can get them in the sack, unlike you, Sven."

"I serve the higher power, which I should not have to remind you of, we do not partake in the Earthly delights as you do... Now that’s strange" Sven peered down at something in his hands. "Now it is to the west of us"

"The West of us? You son of a goat you said it was to the east of us, it can't move, unless…"

They both fell silent as they looked at one another. Then Olie tossed some coin on the table and they were on the move, again.

Norse Christian Church - T
Father Elrich
Diplomacy: Flanders (100% Norse Christian)

Not much going on here, Flandres was converted however.

Norse - T
Edmund Rodrigson, Lord of Amlodhi’s Quern, Dragon of the North, Drinkers of "Genius" Beer, The Grim, Lord of the Ravens, Duke of the Normans, King of the Norses
Diplomacy: None

Leidolf took action to try to remove some of the pressure on the government by taking these steps; Holstein was released, Norway was downgraded from Friendly to allied, Smaland was likewise downgraded to allied.

In a surprise move Leidolf sent a gift of 5 gold to the Poles in an attempt to help them build a port city on the Baltics. The rumors are that Leidolf actually has lost his mind, helping the bloody poles?

Kingdom of the Norman Franks - T
Robert, Duke of Ile de France, Leader of the Free Normans
Diplomacy: None

Robert and his son spent time sipping wine and reading poetry, and entertaining Fritz from Germany

Frankish Kingdom of Germany - T
Otto II, Duke of Verona, King of the German Empire, Head of the German Senate
Diplomacy: None

Trade was open with, of all people, Poland!

Fritz spent many years discussing the possibility of a merger of Germany and France. While he had little success he was not tossed in the prison, as he had feared.

Otto’s wife produced a daughter in 1017AD, however she died the next year while trying to birth a son, who did not survive either.

Mongolian Horde - n
Okara Khan, The New Khan of the Steps
Diplomacy: None

Hung out, did nothing

Roman Republic - W
President Hector, Head of the Senate, Restorer of Glory
Diplomacy: None

Ricardo passed away in 1019, leaving his son to take over the Senate. The Norse Christian uprising to the north prompted Hector to send Cecilio north to protect Italian’s from any violence. Cecilio arrived in Lombardy in May 1018 with close to double the troops Guglilmo commanded. They talked over dinner in which Guglilmo convinced Cecilio that he would not harm any non-church member, and reminded Cecilio that not that long ago the viper in Constantinople was believed to be behind the burning of the government buildings in Rome itself.

Byzantine Empire - W
Empress Marozia, Defender of the Faith, True Blood of Byzantine
Diplomacy:

Marozia was saved by the church, a huge influx of gold was received and was used to raise a new army, which she took out to the field and engaged the traitor. She led 2,400 infantry and 10,200 Cavalry (including 3,000 elite Cavalry) against the hungry and underpaid 5,000 infantry of Demostes and Richards 600 warship. The majority of the naval fleet mutinied (again) and reverted back to the Byzantines. Richard was killed, and Demoste was captured, albeit wounded.

The pretender king was brought into Constantinople, where Marozia put his eyes out in the Hippodrome as a notice to those who rebel, and then cast him into the most dank dungeon we have, to rot. Saying "I don't like rebels."

May 1018 3rd Marozia entered Kuban and sacked and burned the Buyid city of Ak'Bar. All who took up arms against her were crucified, the ground around the city was salted and roads destroyed. A cross was erected before they left with the following inscribed in it "The Musselmen have FELT the Wrath of God. The Soldiers of Rome will help their brothers under Christ"

The Demeter Empire - W
King Demostes, The butcher, Terror of the Sea’s
Diplomacy: Galatia (F), Paphlagona (F), Psidia (F), Phirygia (F), Constantinople (region) (PT), Isauria (F)

With no funds to pay his men, things could not last, especially when his own church turned against him.

Eastern Orthodox Church - W
Irenicus, Ordained head of the Orthodox Church
Diplomacy:

Irenicus repopulated the region of Tharce with many monks to expand his, and the Byzantine’s coffers. The church also spent much of its resources digging irrigation ditches and parks in Bithnia.

In 1016AD two groups of Missionaries were sent to Verona to try to get the peasants to convert back to the one true religion. While preaching to the masses, the missionaries begun to insult the Norse Faith as a paganized version of the true faith, which looking back was a big mistake. The peasants took the missionaries to task, and ended up killed every last missionary, but that was only the beginning. The Abby of the Eastern Orthodox was looted and torched, touching off new round of religious troubles. The band of peasants (now better equipped from the loot stolen from the Abby) moved into Vo Carthy, looted, and burned down the Church there. While some homes were destroyed, no one seemed to care, they were doing God’s will and tossing out the blasphemers from Constantinople.

It was at that time a charismatic young man by the name of Guglilmo Xiovani entered the scene. "We have done good by cleansing our homes of this infestation, but it will come back, like a cockroach, we must cleanse all of Italy, and then the world of the false religion!"

The small army, since it was too large to call a mob, and better organized as well, entered Lombardy, cloaked as merchants, travelers, or under the cover of night. July of 1017AD they struck. Numbering only 3,800 men, they torched the Monastery in Lombardy under cover of darkness, while Guglilmo preached to people of Destrinia, and by the end of 1019 the city was not only Norse Christian, but hostile to the Eastern Orthodox faith.

Rus Vikings - T
Erick II, The River Raider, Wolf of the North
Diplomacy: None

Erick freed many regions, and downgraded a few so what was left of the government could handle what was left. Erick fathered a few whelps while doing paperwork.

 Dutchy of Poland - U
Zygmunt, King of Poland, Earl of Kauyavia
Diplomacy: None

Zygmunt sat around and did a whole lot of nothing.

When a gift of gold arrived from the Norse the Polish nobility was not sure what to do with it so they saved it.

Iberian Celtic’s - z
Conrix, Cheiftan on the Lost Tribes, Restorer of the People
Diplomacy: Lyonnais (100% Druid), Languedoc (100% Druid)

Africa
Troops: 22I, 7XC
Aqrs: c5, I3, s2, w2
Leaders: Jub'Jub Spearhead (MA59)

In a tavern called 'The Dancing Pony' in Merrakesh

Two men, nondescript, except for the fact that their skin was too red to be used to the sun on the Mediterranean, sat in the corner table, discussing what to do next.

"Will you give me the accursed thing already, you have been leading us on a wild goose chase. We all know there is nothing north west from here except for the Sea" the older one with a grey beard

"Do we? What about those rumors of unmapped Islands?"

"Blah! While you were still suckling your ma's teat I was exploring these very seas, I tell you there is no Island out there", the grey bearded man looked at the object and whispered "Oh hell, it is to the North West, and something else is to the East. I think were being followed"

Idrisids - v
Akeem, King of the Western Sands, Allah’s holy arm, Immigrant headquarters of the world, Merchants of the West
Diplomacy: None

Abdelkrim spent his nights trying to procure an heir, after three daughters he finally produced a healthy son

Seems that the religious experience of being in Mecca has gone to their heads. Hearing of the siege of Baghdad, al-Dalal Khalid just can’t sit passively by, and declares he must act! He gathers his troops, his Mujahadin, and incites them with this splendid oratory:

"Victorious Warriors of Islam...We came to the Kabah seeking peace. Now we are more holy, more enlightened, by this righteous hagg. Can one among you declare that you are not more driven by religious strength then when we gathered for this holy mission, this mortal manifestation of Mohammed’s calling.

We believed we no quarrel with Believers. We remember the Quran: while we should respect "Peoples of the Book," the traitorous pagans – only recently cloaked in this Coptic heresy, have waged savage war upon our Muslim brothers, the Buyid. We came in peace, on a religious pilgrimage, but we now find WAR. Lift your nostrils, the north wind brings the stench of death. It is the air of our brother warriors, who, as we speak, are surrounded in the seat of the Abbasid Khalifate, the holy city of Baghdad. These traitorous pagans seek to murder them! Can we allow this to go unnoticed? Can we sit comfortably by, eating figs from the Prophet’s oasis, while Islamic Warriors are slaughtered? I SAY NO! Inspired as we are, and strengthened by Allah’s hand, the Mighty Sword of Islam MUST be unsheathed.

These Pagan bastards (for these barbarians do not take wives), these infidels, have built a rich empire. Rich is should be, built as it was on the slave labor of generations of MUSLIMS! The blood and sweat of our enslaved peoples has been mixed into the mortar of their cities and roads. Many sons of Islam are slaves yet! Call to them, sing the jihad cries of Mohammed, gather these brothers among us, and we will lead them to Allah, to Baghdad, to VICTORY!

ARE YOU WITH ME? Allah u’Akbar!" Bishop al-Dalal Khalid 1015AD from Mecca

Sunni Primate - v
Sihr-Taleb, Allah’s chosen, Arm of the righteous, The Seeker
Diplomacy: Seville (MN), Sicily (AB)

Ali at the ripe old age of 68 passed away in the spring of 1018AD, leaving his designated heir to take over. Bizertal’s walls were expanded and upgraded at Sihr-Taleb’s orders, and many new parks and mosques were built for the faithful to celebrate the re-founding of Mecca

Boliafna - d
King Phill II, Truth Seeker, Crossroad of the world, Chosen by God, The Untrusted, the Grouchy, Head of the Coptic Church
Diplomacy: Sinai (CH), Mansua (CH), Egypt (CH), Alexandria (CH)

Krako was sent to Fayum at the request of the Buryt and guarded his flank, but no forces came from the west.

Fred continued his work in Thebes, and converted them. Fully to the growing Coptic Church

"Emperor Phil II was shocked at his father’s untimely death. The Black Death had devastated much of the nation and rebuilding needs to take place. After searching for workers for the rebuilding he reluctantly ordered that migrant workers needed to be brought in to help with the rebuilding. The amount of manpower and gold to complete the transformation of his nation away from slavery seems insurmountable but the Emperor vows to continue the project. Troops are mobilized to assist the new Coptic nation of Buyra.."

Scribes and bookkeepers were dispatched to help the Buryat keep there books and tax books straight.

Ghana - v
Chaka, Caliphate of Africa, Chosen of Allah, Re-builder of Mecca
Diplomacy: Tusyam (now at 42% Converted), Marampa (82% Sunni)

The rejoicing from the rebuilding of Mecca caused a population explosion, causing the cities of Tillabery, Takura and Gao to suddenly and unexpected expand

A royal road was built connecting the trade center in Boure to the glorious center of the Empire to increase the ease to reach the capital. On the coast the unworthy pagans in Marampa received a gift from Chaka, he cultivated their land.

Abiwamba did not do so well preaching to the heathens in Tusyam. The short, yet charismatic Farqad was sent to Marampa, here he managed to convert a large portion of the locals.

Moli - U
Empress Nahla, queen of the royal Ivory Throne
