IMPORTANT: I found a bug in the stat database dealing with Feudal Allies. The program was incorrectly figuring out how much troop support was. Instead of multiplying the FA’s support cost by 0 (making FA troops free) it was multiplying the support cost by –10. The end result was that some people had a negative troop support. Some people may notice a jump in troop support because of this correcting. If you are one of those people contact me, we will work something out.
If you know of anyone who is looking to join a game, send them to me. ;> I’d like to get some of the newly opened nation filled, as well as some not so apparent positions filled also.

Rules Errata and Reminders
Homelands: Homelands now produce double tax rate, as per the new LOTE 5.6 rule set.
Tithe Income: If you are paying a tithe to a Religious Primate and the rate of the tithe is less than 5% then there is no effect to you; you do not lose any money. If the rate of the Tithe is greater than 5%, then you lose 1% of Tax Rate for each percentage point of the tithe over 5.
Elite troops: They are available to be built/trained when you achieve tech level 5 or greater, this represents how well your troops are versed in combat
Slaves on ships: After some thought and discussions there is a change on slaves and their movements. While on Transports or warships, the ships will move their normal BAC a turn, instead of the 2 BAC that slave’s get.

Varunrajak and his might nation slowed down for a little bit. After the past few decades of intense war and booming trade it seemed like everyone just wanted to take a break and smell the roses. No battles were fought, no one worked hard, and in fact everyone took some sort of vacation.

His skin was red in color, with black eyes and wild, black hair. With his seven arms and three legs, and seven rays of light emanate from his body, there could be no mistaking him for anyone else.
‘Great Agni, I am troubled by the evils that lurk in the darkness, slithering forth at night and subverting the weak. I long for a way to remove these blights and protect the innocent from their siren call. Have you any advice on how to do so?’

The room was bare now that everything of importance had been removed. The elegant paintings, and plush carpeting, the golden candle holders and Ivory nick knacks gone. Just the plain brick fireplace and an old table with some chairs remained.
"What are we going to do now? Surely you can’t expect to rebuild with everyone’s attention focused on us", the little man had asked.
"No, you are right, but I have finally figured out why so many people know so much about us. I have it on good authority that there is a spy on our midst."
"Who do you think…"
There was a loud crack from the little man’s neck, as the assassin, who had been waiting for his cue, sneaked up behind him and broke his neck.
"Why you, of course"

(MN)
Elrich continued building slowly but steadily his church. Rognvald, King of the Norse sent workers to the church for gold. Workers were also sent from Ragnar, King of the Rus.
Bishop Reinhard was attempting to make the leaders of Ponthieu convert to Norse Christian when an assassin tried to kill the leader. Reinhard jumped on the assassin and was killed saving the leader. The region was so impressed by his act that they converted and even celebrate the day he died in honor of him.
"To all nations, especially those who have not had the support of an active primate, I bid thee greetings and a proclamation that may be of interest to you. As many of you know those who follow the Norse Church raid many regions, both rich and poor, we do not discriminate on wealth. However I can prevent them from raiding you. Yes you can live in peace and not worry about the Vikings anymore. How you ask, or maybe at what cost? We will not raid regions that follow our faith. Convert and you will know not only peace on Midgard, but you will know peace when you die and ascend into Valhalla. The choice is not only yours, but simple"
Norse - T
Rognvald Hrolfgarson, Lord of Amlodhi’s Quern, Dragon of the North
Diplomacy: Connaught (EA)
The Mercenary Angus was offered not only a beautiful bride, but also a dower, how could he resist? He is now a Prince of the Norse.
Rognvald was pacing back and forth on the royal balcony. "How DARE those slobs form a nation, don’t they know that they are our to tax?"
The bean counter, in a high squeaky voice answered "Sir, its Slav’s not slobs, and they aren’t part of our nation to tax"
Rognvald stopped in his tracks and looked at the fellow, a short man, from Rome, or so he said. "Slob’s, Slav’s what’s the difference. As far as taxing, we raid them so one else wants to because they are poor, so you see, they pay us to protect them. Get it?"
The Roman tax collector felt a headache starting from listening to this logic and gave up "Yes my lord, I understand it now."
"Good, now be a good geek and fetch me my advisors, its time to put those Slob’s back in their place"
Hrafnkell was in command o1f the Norse army. With 29,000 Infantry, 10,500 Bowmen, 4,500 Light Infantry, he stormed into Poland and tried to get the leaders to listen to him, and to join the Norse peacefully. Which they didn’t, they were firmly committed to Poland. Hrafnkell then attacked and pacified Poland and the city of Jal. Next he and his army entered Little Poland and nearly fell off his horse laughing at what he saw. The Pol’s had beaten off the Rus and their small army (10,500 Infantry and 2,000 Heavy Cavalry) was waiting for the Norse.
The Battle for Poland was short and sweet with the Polish army being decimated while the Norse lost 3,000 light Infantry, 2,000 Bowmen, Prince Siglunda, and Prince Giorm. After their victory they looted Little Poland, the army broke up and looted the following regions; Volhyina, Bialoweza, Masuria, Kauyavia, Lausatia, Pomern, and Pomerania.

Sebatian, Duke of Verona, King of the Germans

When Sebatian heard the proclamation from the Norse Christian, he grew interested in this religion and sent a request to have a bishop come down and answer some questions, if they could find the time to do so.
Roman Republic - W
President Ricardo, Head of the Senate
Diplomacy: Lombardy (T), Provence (A), Spoleto (F), Campania (F)
Ricardo pulled more regions under his control, in an attempt to fend off those who would attack Rome. A letter arrived, delivered by a large burly man with long flowing blonde hair.
Trade was opened to the Germans in Verona, and the trade rout with the Byzantine’s was expanded.
Richardo’s son and heir took a wife from the locals in Lombardy in an attempt to get them to join the nation, which they were very impressed with, but the honeymoon put a damper on their willingness to join the Republic.
The ally from Liguria and his troops had fun chasing the leader from Aquitaine out of Provence.

Alexandra's ally from Pontis was on his way to meet the Emperor when a dirty fellow who had not bathed in a long time handed him a scroll and ran off in the crowed. Curious the ally unrolled the scroll and started to read it. Later the same ally was frothing at the mouth and went insane.
In Cyprus the population is now 75% Eastern Orthodox, and 25% Zoastrian. Missionaries in Sicily did not fair as well, some converted, but must became hostile and would run the missionaries out of town.

Somewhere in the Black Sea…
Erick was sitting uneasily in his chair looking at troop movement reports from around the sea. Too many troops were moving around for him to guess where he may be able to get some easy gold. Just then he saw something moved from the corner of his eye. Slowly he moved his head so he was looking right at the area where the movement happened.
"You may as sow yourself, for I know you are there"
A short man, clad in black from head to toe came out of the shadows and in a smooth and flowing motion a knife suddenly flew forth from his hand. Erick dove to the floor to try to avoid the knife, but the knife struck his arm. Erick pulled his sword from the sheath but suddenly he could not muster the strength to stand. As darkness rushed into his eyes the last thing he felt was his body being picked up and moved.
A short time later the captain of the ship came down to find Erick, but he wasn't there.
