Lords of the Earth

Wander Games

Campaign #7

Turn 13, 921-925 AD

Turns Due: March 28th

Announcements:

Lord of turn 13: Papa Bear, he found himself a nice little cave, with a view of the med.

Peon of turn 13: James Matheson, Nan-Han, when you go to war, never forget to turn in your turns.

1) I am sorry about the long delay with this turn, but so much has happened. I proposed to my long time love, then she informed me, 6 days later, that I was going to be a father, I had a birthday, we moved in together, and then we lost our baby.

2) Due to the delay, the News fax will be shorter. People who submitted their write-up’s will, as is the norm have their whole write up (if every thing worked out the way they hoped) included.

3) Also due to the lag, I am crediting all players 2 free turns. Again, sorry about the long delay.

4) Check out the Lords of the Earth homepage… http://gumby.spa.umn.edu/cscdir/lotedie/homepage.html

5) Musical titles for this turn were

Alabama - Greatest Hits III

Travis Tritt - Greatest Hits

Covered in Black - Various Industrial Artists

Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas

6) Tip of the turn, never roll your car, it hurts physically, and I’m sure I’ll hurt when I get the bill. (sigh)

GAME RULE CHANGES & EXPLINATIONS

Ok, there seems to be more then just a little confusion as to the cost of PW. See the chart below.

Terrain C/C2/I/City W/J/S D/T/M

NFP / GP 5/10 8/15 10/20

On the Eastern tip of Northern Africa there are 2 regions, both named Zeila, now one is named Zelia and the other is Zelial.

After talking with a player, I agreed that it would make sense to have LT have 3 MSP’s of cargo, as opposed to the normal Transport’s 2 MSP’s. The rational was that the Light Transports have less armament and thussly (I like that word) has more room to move things.

Things in Italic’s are either submitted text, or something away from prying eyes.

Valmont, Loki’s trusted right hand man is now hated in all of France, under Loki’s orders he sacked, and burned Paris. Then he and his troops quelled the revolting peasants by brute force.

"There it is again," Loki said sniffing the air about him. "What on earth is that stench?"

"It was carried in with the south wind this morning. A very peculiar order, Milord."

"It smells like…. Hmm, strange…. Now it has vanished"

"No matter, milord," Said Olaf " I have interesting news from the mainland, it seems that the Eastern Franks have been…"

King Loki laughed and patted Olaf on the back. "I know, my friend, and I have just the thing."

King Loki never had the chance to do ‘the thing’, for he vanished one night in 918AD from his room, and has not been seen since.

Let them know the ravens are circling and the hour of the wolf is at hand… Stranghogg!!!"

"What of the hoard Father?" Asked the young Herjolf.

"Bear meat is unfortunately greasy, so we’ll just have to make frequent stops."

Brave words were spoken, but poor Hrolfgar was found dead one morning in 918AD with a Mongolian spear protruding from his back. The regions of Lusatia, Kauyvia, Little Poland, Meissen, Danzig, Prussia, Masuria, and Volhynia were all raided by the Dragon’s army and fleet, who where spotted flying white sails with two Ravens on it.
