Western Europe
Mercenaries: 13I, 7LI, 11C Leader 897
Danes
Loki the Wise, Raider from the North, Crusher of Britain,
DIPLOMACY: None
"King Loki shouted in disgust, "By Odin’s ball, Olaf! How could that fool Thorfinn have missed such an easy target?! It’s bad enough we’ve had to endure his incessant poetry. Perhaps, during the fight, his small Norse mind was muddled trying to get the fucking words to rhyme! Were it not for the Kriegsburg gold I would be angry. Send a herald to Norway with a map of Eastern Frankish territory and with it a note : NICE TRY, ALEXANDER. READ IT NEXT TIME…","Very amusing, my lord," said Olaf, "however I have rather disturbing news. The nobles of Orleans have joined with the Bulgars, and I fear Burgundy may soon follow." Loki turned away to the window, "So, Ivan thinks he can steal what is mine by law and I won’t come for him? He’s more of an ass then I thought. Bring me his head, Olaf, no King ever achieved greatness by being greedy, well… except me."
Norse
Hrolfgar Rognvaldson, Lord of Amlodhi’s Quern, Keeper of the Eye of Surtur, Dragon of the North
DIPLOMACY :None
Hrolfgar could not believe that he missed the capital of the Eastern Franks. "Why in Odin’s name would they build their only city somewhere other then their homeland, WHY!", "Perhaps to confuse their enemies, father.", "What? Hmmm, I suppose in that light it makes sense. Remind me of that when we build a city, will you Gunnbjorn?" Gunnbjorn and Iorek lead an army into Westphalia in 913AD with 23,500 Infantry of various armament and 500 siege troops, they expected slight, if any resistance, what they ran into was far more, with more then 35,000 horsemen and 32,500 newly trained feudally allied Infantry the Norse ordered a hasty retreat after just 2 weeks of fighting before they were truly beaten.
Umayyads
King Mohammed, Destroyer of Christians, King of Spain, Finder of strange Caves, King of the strange findings
DIPLOMACY: None
"Upon hearing of the Bulgar’s attack on the Aghlabids, Mohammed flew into a rage (Like Loki, I suppose). ‘This dog Krum dares to attack the righteous? Then to arms against the infidel!’ Armies were mobilized led by King Mohammed himself, and on the way they sang…
Hurrah! Hurrah!
For Muslim rights, hurrah!
We’ll rally around the bonnie green flag
with the single crescent!"
Spirits were high when the Ummayds met up with the Danes in Lombardy and then stormed in to Verona. King Mohammed led his 5,000 Infantry, 7,000 light Infantry, 2,000 well armed royal guards, 3,000 heavy Cavalry, 3,000 Bowmen, and 2,000 Siege troops to the walls of Venice, where disaster struck. In the first month of the siege, all of King Mohammed’s troops were killed, but he and his allies from Aragon and Catalonia survived.
Bonnie green, Rob? Spoken by a Spanish Moslem?!?
Eastern Europe
Mercenaries: 22I. 7HC, 10S Leader A96
Eastern Franks
Unnamed, the Last Roman Catholic Kingdom, Heir to the Holy Roman Empire
DIPLOMACY : None
"Sir! A strange man wishes to speak with you in private… I say, you don’t have permission…" The squire shut up when the strange man pulled a knife, and slashed his thought, just enough to draw blood, but not enough to harm him. "King, I have business with you, and a way to hold your country together" The newly crowned king, sent the squire away.
This same man later led more then 35,000 horsemen to the king, where they bowed to him. Some claim this man is an angel, others say that the Holy Catholic church has returned.
Bulgar Empire
Ivan, Khan of the Bulgars
DIPLOMACY: None
Ivan slept a lot while his nation was besieged from all sides. Verona was looted and Venice sacked.
Byzantine Empire
Emperor Cartiphilus, Destroyer of the Catholics
DIPLOMACY: Calabria (F)
Cartiphilus orders his military men to shuffle the defenses around., so the bulk now resides in Constanople. Ivan sent out a request for some support in the form of gold, and Cartiphilus decided to send him the gold, who knows, he thought, perhaps I will need a favor from my friends to the west.
"I saw it myself, milord! I tell you truly these men are frothing at the mouth for revenge against the countries who now control what was once theirs!", Cartiphilus was troubled by these words, he sent out some trusted friends to see if they could find out who killed his father, and they dig up these evil tidings. ‘If what you say is true, old man, why has no other seen these so called meetings?’, ‘Because they kill all who find them, unless they join. I was not seen, or at least I do not believe I was seen when I almost stumbled into their camp.’. Evil tidings indeed though the mighty Emperor.
Orthodox Church
Father John II
DIPLOMACY: None
With a new player beginning this turn perhaps he shall see a religious boom.
Rus Vikings
Ivar, The River Raider
DIPLOMACY: None
Ivar had always wondered why the Norse always seem to be raiding everything around them, so he called to his son Viga Brand and asked him to try it to see what he thought of it. When Viga returned he had about one-third of the annual tax income in his pocket, now we know why they raid, Ivar said. Ivar ordered some public works built in the countryside of his capitol, but unfortunately it seems the he and Redouan Ibn Idriss (Idrisids) had the same math teacher.
Wudan
King Sid II
DIPLOMACY: All NT, Ialomita, Walachia, Banat, Bakony, Slovakia
King Sid turned north into the wilderness of central Europe, smashing into the Eastern Franks. Strange things started happening on the way, Princess Destiny was found dead one morning after breaking camp in Austria, an ally while riding stiffened up and died in Bavaria, another ally was hit from a falling branch that rendered his right arm completely useless, and the worst thing the ally from Ugria apparently vanished with all his troops one night in Franconia, the guards who asked him what he was doing say he responded saying "I grow bored walking around, back and forth, and never seeing any gold, I found someone who will pay me and my people well." 35,500 horsemen left, and no one has seen them since. How can that many troops stay hidden?

King Redouan ibn Idriss lead a group of his valiant men to Rome to try to help their allies the Aghlabids, with 2,000 Infantry, 1.000 Siege and 5,000 Warships he sailed into Rome to find that Krum and his army had retreated from Rome. Languedoc was raided for slaves, and Romagna was raided. Back home his economic advisor scratched his head in confusion. Redouan had left a not asking him to oversee the construction of toilets and fountains in the region of Morocco and how much it should cost, yet it didn’t add up, after some work he discovered that Redouan needs to relearn some basic math skills. 2,000 more merchant ships were added to the trade rout with the Ghana Empire.
Aghlabids
Hassen , Terror of the Mediterranean,
DIPLOMACY: None
King Hassen, made paranoid by recent events wandered around his capital questioning his people as to whether or not a secret empire was living there, no one thought that there was, much to his pleasure. In Rome, 5,000 Infantry were trained to try to hold off the Bulgars, but for some reason they left in 910AD. The Ummayyds, Idrisids, and the Danes all sent troops into Italy, claiming that they came to help the Aghlabids.
On a beach of Tunisia a small group of fishermen quietly sat and watched a man dressed in the armor of the royal guard of Hassen offer up a prayer to Allah and the through a shroud into a fire pit. One of them swears that he saw the face of Jesus on the cloth before it went up in flames. The Aghlabids deny this rumor, but many believe that its true.
Oghuzvid Empire
Edabalil, Thunder maker, Big man on the Nile
DIPLOMACY: None
Edabalil, continued his building of a mighty nation. The old allies of Humahe, and Kama Bulgar were found dead in 913AD from bizarre horse accidents. Phil, Truth Seeker, Second biggest man on the Nile
DIPLOMACY: Shoa (F), Zelia (F), Zelial (NE), Berbera (NE)

The regions of Kosti, A’Farah, Kordofoun, Nubia,, and Suakih were all raided for slaves. Princess Fate wondered into Zelial (no longer Zelia II, I was getting confused) to try to get the leaders to join Axuim, but she was escorted out of the region by King Kahlil himself. Merchants were sent to Madagascar to improve trade

"People of the lands of Ghana, my people, we have been a peace for a long while. This is wonderful and good, and we should all be proud of these accomplishments."
"Now there are threats on the horizon my people. Reports of a vast horde of horsemen have arrived from the east. In regards to these reports we will strengthen our defenses around the Empire and we will stand firm - shoulder to shoulder with our partners and allies in the African Co-Prosperity Sphere, the great kingdom of Mali. If and when our partners call upon us we will react to their defense, we have long been allied with Mali and my people we must stand strong together. We hope for peace, but we will be prepared for war."
One of the historians from the University told the king that the last words sounded much like the ancient Sulicids to that responded the king "Really? Great minds must think alike then." Unfortunately the king didn’t know what happened to the Sulicids in the past.
Moli
Simba, War Chief of Africa
DIPLOMACY: Gagnoa (A), Niete (A)
Simba, respectful of the new hoards might formed a mutual defense treaty with Ghana, hopping to survive if the hoard looked his way. After that he sent a few small armies out to get some slaves to help fortify his nation, the regions of Kam, Asante, Soro, and Borogou were the unlucky ones who people are now in the Moli salve pins. Lt. Bob came down with a sickness in 912AD and died very quickly. Some people wonder if his death was related to the massive deaths that Ghana had about five years ago.

When she died many people of the royal court wanted to make the newly born child the heir, instead of Whats Her Name, and a small rebellion started. The spy’s of the royal court ended up killing most of the rebels, but there is much resentment because of the brutal assassinations of the rebels. Whats Her Name, in an attempt to ease relations with the merchants, built a massive trade fleet and gave it to them as a gift. The newlyweds had three children, but in 914AD there son was kidnapped. The current whereabouts is unknown, and there was only the original ransom note, asking for 150 GP’s and the Queens head on a gold platter.
