2) Also of note I have been forced to start looking for another job.

  1. Not only that but our friend Mr. Windows 95 decided that it would be really amusing to have a system registry crash, and make me reinstall 95 again. Bah, what a piece of junk operating system.

4) My printer is on its last leg (and it just got back from HP 3 weeks ago) if there is any problem reading your stat sheet, call me, if I am not here I will either call you back and read the stats off the computer, or I can remail it to you

5) Check out the Lords of the Earth homepage… http://gumby.spa.umn.edu/cscdir/lotedie/homepage.html

6) I am going to make some space on my own Internet provider and piece together a LOTE #7 page, I plan on keeping up-to-date supplements, MSI/ESI chart, and possibly semi-current maps. Any ideas on what else to have, drop a line. The page will be at…

Western Europe

Mercenaries: 13I, 7LI, 11C Leader 897

Danes

Loki the Wise, Raider from the North, Crusher of Britain

DIPLOMACY: None

Loki sent his leaders out to collect extra gold from areas that do not bow to him. The regions of Holland, Brabant, Ponthien. Brittiany, Poitou, Maine, and Anjou were raided. Snorri was sent to join the Norse on their attack upon the Eastern Franks (See below)

Norse

Hrolfgar Rognvaldson, Lord of Amlodhi’s Quern, Keeper of the Eye of Surtur, terror of the North

DIPLOMACY :None

Thorfinn lead his massive army into Lorraine in 907. With 27,500 boats, 35,500 Footmen of various armament, and 500 Siege troops, along with 12,500 Danish Swordsmen and 2,500 Danish Siege troops, Thorfinn thought he would be able to take the last remaining Roman Catholic Nation’s homeland without much of a problem. He could have, if he attacked their homeland.

"Hail to the High One, Holy One hear! Strike with Storm-Lord’s lightning spear! Fire bright, fear fight, friends might near!", Thorfinn’s chant was echoed by his army as they crossed into Lorraine.

In Lorraine, outside of Kriegsburg, the slaughter occurred. The Eastern Franks had 21,500 Pikemen, 4,500 Cavalry, and 1,000 Siege. King Fabio and an unknown lieutenant were killed during the battle. Thorfinn and the leader from the Danes, Snorri, were both killed while sacking Kriegsburg. Perhaps next time the Norse go to war they will make sure they attack the opponents homeland.

Umayyads

King Mohammed, Destroyer of Christians, King of Spain, Finder of strange Caves

DIPLOMACY: Catalonia (A), Baeloric (EA)

"I, Mohammed of the House of Umayyad, swear by the Hand of Allah, to avenge the foul murder of my brother Rahman. To those who performed this deed I shall say that I do not find murdered relatives even remotely funny and people who do end up dead, with sincere apologies for your impending violent slaughter."

This letter was sent out to all regions under Umayyad’s control. A massive search for the assassins of Rahman was launched, but no one seems to know who is the guilty party.

Eastern Europe

Mercenaries: 22I. 7HC, 10S Leader A96

Eastern Franks

Fabio, the Last Roman Catholic Kingdom, Heir to the Holy Roman Empire

DIPLOMACY : None

Bulgar Empire

Ivan, Khan of the Bulgars

DIPLOMACY: Bavaria (EA for Eastern Franks), Swabia (T for Eastern Franks), Switzerland (T), Burgundy (NT for Danes), Orleans (F), Auvergne (NT) Epirus (F)

Krum waited as long as he could, until his impatient streak showed. ‘Where is his highness Boris?’, ‘I do not know sir, according to our well-laid-out plans he should have been here three weeks ago.’ ,’Humph. OK, I have had enough of waiting, perhaps his wife kept him locked in the bedroom for some more etiquette training. Give the order, we march at dawn to free the holy city of Rome from the infidels Muslims!’ With 23,000 Sword men, 13,000 horsemen, and 2,000 siege troops, Krum marched into Tuscany easily overrunning the forts, and then he waited a few more weeks, again waiting for Boris to join him with more military. When he didn’t show up Krum and his army charged into Latium. Unfortunately his waiting in Tuscany gave the Aghlabid’s General Nabil time to move his army into Rome and strengthen the city. On the fields around Rome the armies clashed, the Aghlabid’s had 45 forts around the city, 18,000 Ax men, 4,000 Cavalry and 6,000 boats filled with bow men. The first battle was almost a debacle by the Bulgars, the Muslims had out pitch and oil on the ground and when the Bulgar’s were approaching from there the bow men launched flaming arrows. By sheer numbers the Bulgar’s were on the verge of complete success until the Aghlabid’s General Jafar charged out with fresh troops and ordered a retreat back into the city walls. Krum started a passive siege on the city but Rome has not yet fallen.

Boris was killed while hunting for food in Lombardy. An arrow had shot him in the throat, on a sheet of paper on the arrow was written ‘We do not need, nor want your kind in the regions that once belonged to the Western Franks. This is your only warning, heed it well.’

I have an extra key for such moments as this, now lets see what is….’

Princess Inscia was found murdered in her bed the morning of her coronation, tied to her bed, and disemboweled. The poor assassin left a clue as to who hired him, a knife with Celtic Runes upon the blade.

King Sid rode out ahead of his band of not-so-merry men to ponder the questions that have plagued men since the dawn of time, ‘Why are we here, where do we go when we die, and what will be for dinner tonight? In Pechneg things went wrong, another group of horsemen were just going to start wandering the plans when Sid and his men came in. The first arrow fired struck Sid in the head, fell off his horse, and was trampled. At one point there were 5 different armies on the field until King Sid II managed to regain control. Over 120,000 men and horses were killed. Sid II has a much smaller horde now, and may be licking his wounds for the next few years.

Silently Nabil entered the cave that the old man claimed held something of value. ‘Why does the King send me to grovel in the mud like some animal, am I not his greatest general?’, he thought as he slipped on the muddied surface. Then something glittered from his torch, a golden color. ‘Could that old drunken sailor be telling the truth?’ After digging up the area and collecting the gold he went home to tell his King of his good fortune.

Zum-Zoopa was found dead the morning after the statement was made, and it is uncertain if he died of natural causes or if some lord was greatly offended by these so called ‘Checks and Balances’. Rastrakutas

Khali, Peacelord of India, Finder of the Weird, Hindu Primate

DIPLOMACY: Sri Lanka (F)

Rabinga entered Manyakheta with only minimal guard and ordered the rest of his troops to filter in slowly so as to not attract any suspicion from the cultic members. Since he is newly raised to the office of Lieutenant, he and his men can more easily arrive in town without attracting suspicion. His job, to locate the Cultic Temple, previously discovered by the person he replaced, and to watch it for signs of a meeting. The rumors of Khali’s trip to the lands of the Abbasids had spread like wildfire and this ‘Cultic Temple’ was busily making plans, or so he thought. He then sent word to Khali, who was hiding out in the wilderness to set the trap in motion.

Khali launched his attack. The cavalry of Rabinga, while small, only 6,500 men strong, kept the Cult contained until Khali arrived to slaughter every member to the last. The battle was short and sweet; with 35,000 footman, Khali easily killed the members of this Temple. The building that contained the Temple was be burned and the houses of the members of the cult were searched. Anyone found with illicit materials was be expelled from the kingdom.

Khali also issued a statement to all regions he controls.

"My people. It has come to my attention that there is a disease in our kingdom. A disease not of the body or the mind, but of the soul. Last year I sent my faithful servants out into the kingdom to seek out the needs of the people so that I might work to fulfill them. In their search they discovered the disease I speak of. It cost them their lives. Their aides returned to me describing this horrid disease. People who look no different from yourselves, but in actions are so evil that they make even the most horrible of sins that you could even imagine seem pure. These outsiders have crawled their way into the cracks of our society to bring it crashing down around us. This year I have taken steps to begin to eradicate this disease from you. It is not a disease that can be cured by rest and comfort though. Like the green rot that eats at sickly flesh it must be cut out. So I ask you, my people, to be ever vigilant to guard yourselves from these creatures. And if you should find their workings or places of hiding, do not act upon them directly. Go to the people I have chosen for leadership in your cities and tell them. Then I or my servants shall ride down these creatures of corruption and stamp them out of existence. Be at peace my people, this is but one many challenges that Shiva set forth on the way to salvation."

(Thanks for submitting that on disk, Chris.)

Sanjoy Vijay was found dead 2 months after his marriage. An arrow was shot from the roofs of the market and struck his heart. The Lieutenant Muljubur Buku, while on a hunt with some nobles from Ava, was killed when the boar he was hunting spooked his horse and he was thrown off. Sikkim Nidu was last seen supervising the building of a city in Mon, named Guildenberg. There are rumors that he was somehow trapped within the walls, and the beloved King Ali Bib Rok Mann was lost at sea when a strange, almost unnatural storm came out of nowhere while he was sailing back to Pegu from the Andaman Islands. The government turned against itself after his death, if it weren’t for the young Queen the nation would have fallen apart.

China

Mercenaries:13I, 11C, 7E Leader 798

Champa

Emperor Palpatyn, Leader of the Champa

DIPLOMACY: None

Fad’er was on the first leg of his slave duty when he saw a force of about 10,000 men, riding under Nan-Han’s flag, in Siam. When they didn’t slow down, he ordered his men to attack. 28,500 Swordsmen were disappointed- the 15,000 Cavalry didn’t leave anyone alive after their charge. Then on the way back, in Surin, another Nan-Han army was starting to move into Khemer, but unlike the previous battle, this army was fairly large. Fad’er lead his men (minus the slaves they left behind) into the Nan-Han’s 1st southern Army. With 19,500 Pikemen, and 4,500 Cavalry the army from Nan-Han put up a fight, but in the end they were just plain out-manned by Champs. After Fad’er came home and was looking forward to a nice hot bath and to getting out of his armor, a squire came running in, "Sir! Su Sumazhu’s army is at the walls of the city!" Fad’er cursed his old bones, and ran to the battle for Khemer. Su’s army was 7,000 tired Foot solders and 1,000 siege troops, while Khemer’s army was whittled down to 19,500 Swordsmen and 10,500 Cavalry. The battle lasted only 2 weeks, Su Sumazhu was killed and Khemer mourns the loss of a National Hero; Fad’er, who in 5 years destroyed three separate armies from Nan-Han.

Su Sumozhu,

DIPLOMACY: None

Quietly Su Sumozhu arose to watch the sun rise, the reddish skies reminded him of a color that he had not seen in many years, blood. All this peace was driving him crazy, especially now that Liang has united all of northern China under his flag. Su lead 44,000 men into Champa and then laid siege to Vijaya while his ally Yin Jiapeng helped from sea, but the cost to gain the city was high. Thanks to well built walls, and well trained (and newly added) men, before the city fell they killed 32,500 of Su’s army. When Su finally took the city, he sacked it and left the ruins standing, to warn all of what may happen to them when they oppose the mighty Nan-Han Empire. There in the chaos of the sacking of Vijaya he received word that Lee Chiem was unable to capture Khemer. Su and his remaining army them marched to Khemer, pacifying Cochin, and Preikuk before reaching Khemer. His general begged him to pull back and wait until he had more men, but he would not listen.
